Logan observed the remnant wisps of grey energy that quickly dissipated,
'That energy, it's the same as the one that beast emitted right before it-' Logan thought in horror as a phantom burning sensation spread around his body.
"This academy isn't safe. Who is responsible? Is it personal or a coincidence that I am involved in this?" Logan asked himself aloud as he paced the room a few times before sitting on the lower bunk.
"This is infuriating!" Logan yelled as he punched the wall close to him,
He looked at the paper like it held all the answers in the universe.
The silence that ensued made it feel that the very world itself was mocking him,
Logan failed to notice the insidious feeling of twisted hilarity that started to permeate his mind.
"I came here to get stronger and NOONE will stop me" He started laughing.
"And if they try.." His right eye twitched, "I'll make sure my Darkness Magic consumes them" He finished, releasing a bit of darkness that corroded the paper and left nothing in its wake.
"Now, I believe that the academy owes me a couple of spells" Logan spoke before heading out of the room, closing the door behind him.

In the Aereon Empire, the domain of Emperor Kai was a barren land.
The land had once been full of fresh and vibrant life up until ten minutes ago,
Now it was full of smoke and ash, ember filling the region.
The only living people were a man with an eyepatch, a katana on his back, shiny black hair in a ponytail and had on a windbreaker.
The other person lacked his arms and legs both having been turned to ash, his figure was disheveled and his eyes full of fear.
"Come on, don't waste my time. Just tell me where they are and you might get to live" Aaron attempted to convince the person in front of him,
"Y-you d-don't under-un-understand. They'll kill me and my family" The man pleaded.
"And I'll kill you, still find them, kill them and you might 'accidentally' lose your family in the process" Aaron countered, interested evident on his face,
"No, no. I refuse, I won't tell you" The man shook his head vehemently to emphasize his point.
"Well, in that case, you die" Aaron grabbed the handle of his katana, pulled it out and held it against the man's neck,
"Threatening a weak person. Tututu. I expected more from you oh mighty Death Magus" A voice that didn't belong to the man spoke from his mouth.
"Soul King" Aaron spat the name out like it was poison,
"Hahahahaha! You know what we-I like about you? Take a guess. Yes, it's your hypocrisy" Soul King laughed.
"Come face me here, we'll laugh and joke together" Aaron suggested,
"Nice try fire boy. I'll stay where I am, thank you. Although I can't say the same for my partner" Soul King said, his voice dripping with amusement.
The body of the man started convulsing, turning into grey wisps of energy that gathered at a point in front of Aaron,
He tightened his grip around the handle of his katana, watching intently as a portal slowly formed and a person walked through.
The person had caramel brown skin, green eyes, a shaven head and a neatly trimmed beard with yellow and orange streaks.
It was Emperor Kai!
"The famous Death Magus of the Dawn Kingdom, to what do I owe this visit? And how is that eye? Does it still hurt?" Emperor Kai joked at Aaron's expense.
"I don't have time for your games Kai. Just hand over the criminal you are harboring and I'll be on my way" Aaron hit the nail on the head, unfazed by Kai's presence.
"It is pretty brave of an S-rank mage to order an SSS-rank mage about like that" Kai smiled to Aaron before it suddenly changed to a deep scowl.
"Imperial Thunderstorm!" Emperor Kai waved his hand in Aaron's direction thus conjuring a massive lightning filled tornado with Aaron at its center.
The latter merely gripped his sword, "Fire Magic; Breath of the Rising Sum" he whispered, ignoring the lightning bolts that crashed on his figure and damaged his body.
A wave of flames akin to a solar flare appeared in front of Aaron and met the tornado.
It turned, enhancing the flame until it became a spinning mass of tornado like flames,
Emperor Kai flew out of the range of the flames and it's immense heat , "Full Static" Emperor whispered in a voice that was drowned out by the mighty roar of the burning mass.
Aaron's body ceased all movement in that instant as he fell paralyzed, he tried to control his body but failed woefully.
Emperor Kai sent a crackling lightning bolt that pierced part of the flames and created an entrance for him which he didn't hesitate to exploit.
He reached Aaron in an instant with a thunderous boom and pointed his hand that crackled with lightning at him.
"Death Pyre" Aaron barely spoke yet a feeling of immense danger filled Emperor Kai,
"Armor of The Thunder God" A crackling armor of lightning surrounded Emperor Kai as the mass of flames around him turned pitch black and collapsed with the destructive might of a Hydrogen bomb.
The battle field was now pure magma and rubble a couple hundred meters into the ground,
A figure was flying in the air, his armor made of lightning vanished showing the poor state of the person beneath it.
Emperor Kai's right leg was completely missing and his figure appeared weak and pale while Aaron was nowhere to be seen, "A quasi-SSS rank spell" Emperor Kai said aloud with surprise,
"This is why I need that crystal, it's my ticket to the rank after SSS" Emperor Kai sighed before flying back to his pagoda.

Logan was headed back to the boys dormitory, the weapons and training hall would open the next day and so he had to wait.
He passed by other students but kept an eye on those that glared at him trying to see if he could isolate the person or people that wrote the letter but alas, he was no closer to figuring it out.
He went through the teleportation ring and headed for his room, he opened the door and saw his roommate.
He stopped from shock, his roommate also reeling from shock stared at him.
His roommate was Blondie!
