The team kept running between the trees and rocks with the monster following them from behind. Jesse turned to Joseph while breathing heavily: "What happened? What is this thing?" Joseph replied with exhaustion evident on his features: "We don't have time now, I'll tell you when we escape from this thing." Jesse looked back to find the trees falling one by one and the sound of the monster's footsteps behind them. Jesse returned his gaze forward to find he was close to colliding with a tree, but he avoided it at the last moments. While everyone was running at their maximum speed, Jenny, who was in the utmost stages of terror and fear at that moment, began to feel tired. Her breathing became more difficult with each step she took, causing her to slow down. Then she began to feel severe pain in her lungs until suddenly... her foot stumbled on one of the rocks. In those few seconds, as soon as she stumbled on the stone, dozens of thoughts launched simultaneously: "Impossible... impossible... impossible... I have no more energy to run... I'm going to die... I'm going to die." Her train of thought was cut off by someone's hand grabbing her and pulling her before she fell. Jenny quickly turned back to find that Ethan had caught her before she fell. Signs of exhaustion were clear on him. Jenny regained her balance and continued running, saying in a voice full of fatigue: "Thank you." Nicholas screamed with his face full of sweat saying: "We won't be able to escape from it, we need to think of something else because it's getting closer and closer to us." Jesse replied: "We need to hit its eye (breathing), it only has one eye so hitting it will distract it long enough for us to escape or even kill it." Nicholas replied: "Good idea, but how can we hit it with all these trees? They're everywhere." Jesse replied: "I don't know, man." Jenny interrupted them with a voice full of fatigue: "Why don't we split up? That will make it follow one of us, and while it does, the others can point their weapons at its eye and blind it." Jesse replied: "Good idea." He shouted to the rest: "You heard what she said, split up, and whoever the monster continues to chase should shout their name." After a few seconds, everyone scattered and began heading in different directions. Jesse and Joseph headed right, while Jenny and Ethan headed left, and Nicholas continued running forward. The monster continued advancing toward Nicholas while the rest moved away from the monster a little and stopped in front of one of the trees, waiting for a signal to know who the monster followed. The sounds of the giant monster began to fade slowly until Nicholas screamed his name with all his strength. Jesse and Joseph caught their breath and rushed toward Nicholas. On the other side, Jenny fell against one of the trees from exhaustion. Ethan looked at her with fear and concern, remaining confused whether to stay with her or head toward the monster. Jenny noticed Ethan's concern and said in a soft voice full of fatigue: "Go to them, I'll be fine alone." Ethan took a deep breath and headed quickly toward them. The monster caused huge damage to the trees while chasing Nicholas, so they were able to locate it quickly. Jesse and Joseph met with Ethan halfway and headed quickly, following the traces of destruction caused by the monster. After some time passed, they spotted the monster from afar. Jesse pointed his rifle at it and fired a few shots to attract its attention. The monster turned toward them and began heading toward them slowly. Everyone pointed their weapons at the monster in preparation to shoot it. With each step it took, their heartbeats increased and their breathing became more difficult. The monster came very close to them, then suddenly stopped in place, which shocked and surprised everyone. It bent down and picked up one of the broken trees on the ground, and in a few seconds, it raised its arm toward the sky and threw the tree at them. Jesse and the rest barely avoided the tree. Jesse's heart kept beating so hard that he felt it would come out of its place. Jesse put his hand on his heart and began breathing with difficulty, directing his gaze toward the rest to find they were in no better condition than him. The monster began heading toward them slowly. Jesse stood on his feet with difficulty; he could barely stand with sweat all over his body. He looked at the monster with eyes full of fatigue toward its yellow eye thirsty for blood. It was approaching him slowly like a wolf about to prey on a rabbit unable to escape. Jesse gripped his gun tightly and pointed it toward the monster's eye. He closed his eyes and used the last of his remaining strength to aim his gun at its eye. He placed his finger on the trigger, firing a bullet directly at the monster's eye. The sound of the bullet echoed throughout the forest, making Nicholas rush toward them with the only thing occupying his mind being "Did they do it?" while his heart was beating hard as he jumped over stones and avoided hanging branches. Nicholas reached them to find the monster with its hands on its eye, staggering from pain. It slowly backed away with dark blood flowing from its eye. Jesse and the rest kept watching it silently, waiting for its next move. It kept moving randomly in all directions with its hands on its eye as if screaming in pain but without sound. After several minutes in the same state, the monster suddenly fell to the ground while blood poured from its eyes. Jesse fell to the ground; finally he could rest for a while. He began catching his breath and his heartbeat slowly began returning to normal. Meanwhile, Nicholas went to the monster's corpse fallen on the ground, looking at it with a disgusted face. He reached the monster's eye to find it had become like an empty ball of air with blood spread all around the eye.
