"Sir, how do you know me?" Miles was so shocked to hear his name that he immediately pulled back his hood.

He had assumed no one in this universe would recognize him. Yet the mysterious man in front of him had casually said his name—and somehow knew he wasn't from this dimension. That rattled him.

At 18 years old, Miles was still new to the world. Fresh out of high school, with limited experience, his instincts weren't yet hardened. He wasn't particularly wary of Alex Ray, just curious—and eager to understand how the stranger knew who he really was.

Alex looked at Miles, a glimmer of amusement in his eyes.

Instead of answering directly, he countered, "You don't need to know how I know. Let me ask you something—are you here to take down Kingpin? And is there another Spider-Man named Peter Parker in your world?"

Miles blinked at the question, momentarily thrown. But he caught on quickly.

He nodded. "Yes, sir. Originally, we were going to return each Spider-Man to their respective universes before destroying the collider."

"But something went wrong. I don't know how, but both Kingpin and I were pulled into this parallel universe. I followed him here."

Miles scratched his head as he spoke, looking genuinely confused. He was clearly struggling to understand how he'd ended up in such a strange place.

"As for my universe… yeah. There was a Peter Parker. But Kingpin killed him." Miles' tone darkened with fury.

He looked down at the corpse of the Kingpin on the floor, and a sharp, dangerous edge flashed in his eyes.

"Spider-Man team?" Alex repeated, wanting to confirm what he was thinking. "You mean multiple Spider-People showed up in your dimension?"

Miles perked up at that and nodded excitedly. "Not too many—just five."

He began counting on his fingers. "First, Peter B. Parker from the future. He's my mentor—taught me everything."

"Second, Spider-Gwen. Super cool and fast."

"Third, Peni Parker from the year 2033."

"Fourth, there's Noir Spider-Man—everything about him is in black and white. Mysterious guy, cool style."

"And last—Spider-Ham. Not human. Kind of a talking pig in a costume. Hilarious though."

Miles turned to Alex and asked earnestly, "What's your name, sir?"

Alex had a rough outline in his mind now. This was clearly a variation of the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse story—but with deviations.

Originally, Miles had completed the mission and returned safely to his own dimension. But now, due to some unknown complication, both he and Kingpin had been thrown into Alex's universe.

Which meant his original world's story might have ended differently this time.

Alex examined Miles carefully, unable to suppress a sigh. The Peter Parker from that world had been one of the most successful among all the Spider-Men he'd come across—wealthy, happily married, and a father to a beautiful daughter. But fate had played a cruel trick on him.

Kingpin killed him. Peter could've escaped, but chose instead to stay—to protect Miles.

"My name is Alex Ray," he said finally. "The Kingpin of this universe was my godfather."

Miles' body tensed instantly at the revelation. He eyed Alex cautiously, muscles tightening, ready to react.

To him, anyone close to Kingpin was suspect.

Alex chuckled at the visible shift in his posture.

"Relax, kid," he said lightly. Then winced and corrected himself. "I mean—relax, little spider. That came out wrong. Just a slip of the tongue."

He gestured casually at the body on the floor. "Didn't you notice? I already killed your universe's Kingpin. If I wanted you dead, you wouldn't be standing here."

He folded his arms and asked, "So what now? Do you have any way to get back to your universe?"

As far as Alex knew, they didn't have access to a collider or any similar device that could manipulate dimensional travel. At least, not here.

Miles scratched his head again and looked at Alex, hopeful. "Mr. Ray… since you know I'm from another universe, maybe you know how to send me back?"

To him, Alex Ray clearly had insight and experience—and might be the key to returning home.

"I know the method," Alex replied honestly. "But I don't have the power or the people."

Those capable of helping—America Chavez, the Ancient One, Doctor Strange—they weren't exactly options right now.

Miss America might not even exist yet in this timeline. The Ancient One? Alex didn't want to risk contacting her. As for Doctor Strange, in this universe, he was still just a neurosurgeon at a hospital.

"What about your Spider-Team?" Alex asked, noting the way Miles occasionally glitched like a faulty image. It was a clear sign—he didn't have long before the effects of this universe's instability wore on him.

Alex remembered that, without the special dimensional bracelet, Spider-People couldn't survive for long in alternate universes. That bracelet was probably given to Miles later.

Still, Alex was curious. He wanted to visit that Spider-base filled with multiverse Spider-Men—thousands of them. It would be amazing to build connections there.

But the catch: only Spider-Men could enter. He'd need to find a workaround.

Miles' shoulders slumped. "They've all gone back through the collider. Unless there's another one here, I have no idea how to return."

Alex placed a hand on his shoulder. "Don't be discouraged. There's always a way."

Miles looked up, his eyes shimmering with hope. "Really? Do you have a plan?"

Alex grinned. "Why not stay here for now? I've got plenty of space. And let's be honest—you probably don't have anywhere else to go."

If Miles stayed, other Spider-Men might eventually come looking. That could be their ticket to another universe—or a new mission altogether.

Gratitude filled Miles' expression. He could see Alex truly cared. With no home, no allies, and no idea where he was, Alex Ray was the only lifeline he had.

"Alright," Miles said, nodding. "Thank you."

"Let's go. I'll take you home."

Alex turned and began walking. Miles followed closely.

At that moment, the system prompt flickered to life in Alex's vision:

"Congratulations, host. You have successfully added Miles Morales as a friend."

"You have gained the ability: Invisibility."

"You have received 10 Friend Points."

"Would you like to fuse the new ability now?"

"Initiate immediate fusion."
