Alex Ray frowned as he looked at the reward screen, feeling a surge of confusion and dissatisfaction.

Of all things… the damn system had granted him a skill he didn't even need—invisibility.

What was he supposed to do with that? Spy on people?

Alex shook his head, trying to rid himself of that thought.

Sure, he wasn't exactly a saint, but even he disdained such underhanded behavior.

Besides, if he truly wanted to see something, his enhanced perception—thanks to his chaos magic and training—could pierce through most illusions or obstructions anyway.

What he really wanted was Spider-Sense. That way, he could mimic Spider-Man, enter the Spider-Verse, and meet all those other web-slingers.

Shortly after, Alex brought Miles back to the restaurant.

At that moment, the outside of the Good Luck Restaurant was surrounded by Kingpin's bodyguards. All of them wore grave expressions, as if preparing for war.

Bullseye was also standing among them, posted right at the entrance. He stood guard with grim determination, letting no one approach.

As soon as Bullseye spotted Alex approaching, his face lit up with a desperate, almost childish hope, like a cornered man seeing salvation.

Alex gave him a teasing look. "What's this? Did you get demoted to doorman?"

That struck a nerve. Bullseye immediately stepped forward, grabbed Alex's shoulders tightly, and launched into a dramatic rant. "Bro, I've been through hell. The boss had me assigned to another front, right? I thought I'd execute the mission perfectly—no strings attached—but that damn Madam Gao played me. She faked east and struck west."

"If something had happened to the boss's wife, you wouldn't be seeing your bro alive right now!"

"You have to speak up for me later, man!"

Alex gave him a light shove. "Alright, alright. Stop whining. If Kingpin really wanted you dead, you'd already be a corpse. Come in with me."

He turned and called over his shoulder, "Miles, stay close."

Miles nodded and followed quietly.

As Bullseye glanced at the kid trailing behind Alex, his expression shifted. His eyes widened, and he pointed at Miles, then back at Alex. "Wait, bro… don't tell me he's—"

"He's just a kid. Didn't do anything wrong," Alex cut him off sharply. "Besides, he's useful."

Alex's tone left no room for argument. He already knew what Bullseye was about to say.

Alex Ray had no patience for racist garbage. He didn't blindly hate anyone. What he loathed were the self-destructive, reckless types who dragged others down with them—regardless of their background. Miles wasn't like that.

Hell's Kitchen had more than its fair share of orphans, and Alex had taken in many. But if any of them turned to crime, he'd mete out justice—no matter how minor the offense.

He didn't judge people for their race. For instance, there was a certain late basketball icon he deeply admired.

And Miles Morales—the young Spider-Man—was a unique presence in the multiverse. He had to be protected. Of course, if the kid ever turned rogue, Alex wouldn't hesitate to put him down.

The trio passed through the line of guards and entered the restaurant.

Bullseye trailed behind with a grateful, trusting expression on his face.

Inside, Kingpin sat alone on the sofa, puffing on a cigar, lost in thought.

Wanda Maximoff gently comforted a visibly shaken Vanessa Fisk, softly patting her back in a soothing rhythm.

Across the room, Pietro Maximoff was immersed in a video game with Richard, Vanessa's son. Like most children, he'd already been distracted by the console, his earlier fear forgotten.

The moment Alex and his group walked in, all eyes snapped to him.

Wanda immediately rushed over, her face full of concern. "Are you hurt? What happened? I heard something about another Kingpin? A multiverse?"

Though Kingpin didn't speak, the look in his eyes demanded answers.

He sat upright, arms crossed, gaze locked on Alex with the weight of expectation.

Feeling overwhelmed by the barrage of questions, Alex quickly pulled Miles forward.

"This is Miles," he said, almost like he was presenting a guest on a talk show. "He's Spider-Man from the same parallel universe as the other Kingpin. Let him explain."

Miles stiffened slightly under the weight of everyone's stare. Seeing a second version of Kingpin—so identical to the one from his universe—left him stunned.

Alex gave his shoulder a reassuring pat.

Miles took a deep breath to steady himself, then began explaining everything he knew about the multiverse and how he came to be here.

Half an hour passed as everyone digested the mind-bending information.

The story hit them like a freight train—so much so that it felt like they had stumbled into an entirely new dimension.

"I didn't expect parallel universes to be real," Pietro said, blinking in disbelief. "So that means there are… other versions of me out there?"

He seemed oddly excited at the idea.

Kingpin stood in silence, his gaze fixed on Vanessa and their son. There was a deep, conflicted emotion in his eyes.

He thought of how Vanessa had died in the other universe. The image haunted him.

He knew his counterpart too well. In that other life, he probably would've made the same choices.

But now, all of it—his wife's and child's deaths—was blamed on the very boy standing before him.

His anger boiled over. He fixed his gaze on Miles with a terrifying intensity.

"Boy," Kingpin growled, his voice low and ominous. "Do you know who killed my wife and son in that universe?"

Miles froze under the weight of the threat.

"If it was you…" Kingpin's voice dropped even further, "I don't care what universe it happened in. I'll make you pay."

"Uncle," Alex interjected sharply. "Don't scare the kid. He didn't do it. It was an accident."

Kingpin glared at him, seething with restrained fury, but slowly exhaled and withdrew his killing intent.

His eyes locked onto Alex's again—demanding truth.

With a sigh, Alex caved. "The other Kingpin told me his wife and son died in a car accident."

He didn't mention the full story—that the other Vanessa had left during a heated battle between Kingpin and Spider-Man, and her car was struck in traffic.

Kingpin squinted, clearly sensing Alex was holding something back.

Miles, too, looked confused. He had been there. He never heard that version of events from the other Kingpin.

Before the questions could escalate, Alex turned to Pietro. "Hey, go grab the key from my room and take Miles upstairs."

Pietro raised an eyebrow, ready to protest. But one look at Alex—and a quiet nudge from Wanda—made him back down.

"Fine," he muttered. "Even though my sister could just as easily take care of him."

No one acknowledged the complaint.

He guided Miles upstairs while Alex remained, steeling himself for the next difficult conversation.
