Landon's POV
{Kelsey's Residence – 8:15 P.M}
By the time everyone had finished eating dinner, I helped Lila brush her teeth and tucked her into bed. She curled up under the blankets like a little cat and yawned before pulling my hand.
"Daddy... tell me that story again," she murmured sleepily.
I smiled and sat on the edge of the bed, brushing her hair gently. "The one about the silent knight and the fire princess?" I whispered.
She nodded, half-asleep already. It was a story I just made in my head when she asked for a story the first time I tried to put her to bed.
I never knew kids listened to bedtime stories these days. After I grew tired of my nanny, I never listened to stories again.
I leaned down, kissing her forehead before starting the story.
"Once upon a time, there was a knight who never spoke a word... but everyone feared him. Not because he was scary, but because he never made a sound... even when he protected people."
