Aria's pov
She smiled sheepishly as we both turned to her, there was no evidence of sleep so I just assumed she had been listening to us while resting.
"Did you hear all of that?" I asked.
She nodded, shyly. "It was hard not to, the sleep was not forthcoming so I just closed my eyes,"
Understandable.
"And I heard the part where you said you cared about me, Aria. I care about you too and I am glad to be your friend," Margery teared up.
I went over to her side and hugged her, Cecily followed and we formed a cocoon around her.
Her wounds were healed up and it looked like she was well rested. I raised a hand and wiped the tears from her eyes.
"Don't cry,"
"How can I not? When you constantly care about me like this. It is hard not to,"
I sighed, "I don't know what care is or what it looks like but I am protective of those that I like. You have taught me so many things and one of those is that no matter my background, I have as much right as anyone wherever I am."
