Aria's pov
We fell into a contemplative silence, the crackling of the fire filling the void. I couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss, that the differences in our maps were more than just a simple error.
The wheels in my head started reeling, trying to think of something and it didn't help that Geoffrey's words came haunting me.
Was this what he meant by someone out to get me? I hated that he didn't specify who.
"Aria," Cecily said, breaking the silence. "Do you remember when we first received these maps? Were they given to us directly by the guild master?"
I nodded. "Yes, but they were handed out individually. Margery gave me mine,"
Cecily's gaze swung to Margery who was wide eyed, she raised her hands in surrender, "yeah but only because Isabella gave it to me,"
I nodded. Of course, it was Isabella. She would have been the one who switched out the maps because she is a bitch. But she must have gotten it from someone right?
