Chapter 1 - I want to be perfect

Hiroshi Takahashi, like many, only desires a better life, more happiness, and the chance to enjoy life. But for him, this is hard to achieve. Despite wanting to be happy, his dream is constantly overshadowed by something he cannot change: his perfectionism.

Being a perfectionist is relatively common, and for Hiroshi, it was no different. However, when he was introduced to the world of anime and manga, he couldn't help but yearn for a life like those portrayed. Genuine happiness, reciprocal love—everything a young person would want.

In his quest for a perfect life, like those he saw in anime and manga, Hiroshi raised his level of perfectionism to a point of no return. With his vision distorted by fictional realities, he lost the will to live in a world where he couldn't find happiness.

One night, while Hiroshi was reading the latest chapter of the manga Oshi no Ko on his phone, something strange happened. A suspicious advertisement suddenly appeared on the screen. He tried to close it, but the window wouldn't go away. His heart raced, and a shiver ran down his spine. Desperate, Hiroshi turned off his phone.

To his surprise, even with the phone turned off, the advertisement remained. Now, it seemed to follow his line of sight; wherever he looked, the window was there.

Seeing how bizarre it all was, Hiroshi decided to confront the situation. Reading the message, the advertisement said:

"Tired of your mundane life? Thank the heavens, today is your chance to change everything. Fill out the information below, and we will get in touch."

Without thinking much, Hiroshi did exactly as the advertisement instructed and began answering a few questions:

"Do you want to live a more joyful life?"

"Do you want to find love?"

"Do you want to have extraordinary abilities?"

"Do you want to be happy?"

He answered all with a "yes" and quickly filled out the information.

Finally, the last question did not allow a yes or no answer; it only said:

"How do you want your life to be?"

This was a deep question, and for Hiroshi, even harder to answer. He hesitated, feeling the weight of the expectations he placed on himself. But overcoming his mental barriers, he typed:

"I want a life where I can use all my talent, improve myself, and ensure that I can always be better than the previous me. I want to be perfect."

Once he finished filling out the form, the advertisement screen disappeared.

"Maybe this is all just a dream. I'd better get some rest."

Tired and skeptical, Hiroshi decided to sleep, trying to prepare for another ordinary day.

However, that day never came. Instead, Hiroshi found himself in an endless darkness, as if trapped in a nightmarish dream. The emptiness around him was overwhelming. Then, a soft voice, almost a whisper, broke the silence:

"Good luck, I hope you can find happiness."

Hearing those words, Hiroshi felt himself being swallowed by the darkness and once again lost consciousness.
