Chapter 5 - 5. What's Wrong with a Man Liking Thigh-highs?!

Because Miyauchi Hinata had been precocious since he was little, and had, by age 12, become the biggest contributor to revitalizing the Asahigaoka economy, his status in the family was extremely high. As long as he told his family not to disturb him, no one dared bother him.

"Hinata probably stayed up late gaming again last night, pretending like he was burning the midnight oil writing a business plan or something," grumbled Miyauchi Hikage, her older sister by a mere thirty minutes, eyeing his empty seat at the breakfast table.

Their names—Hikage (Shadow) for the sister and Hinata (Radiant Light) for the brother—seemed like a cruel joke. She had lived her whole life under her younger brother's shadow.

She couldn't beat him physically as a child, her grades were crushed by his in school, and ever since Hinata launched the Asahigaoka revitalization project, she had completely given up on competing with him.

Now all she could do was vent privately. After all, the two of them would soon be moving to Tokyo for high school. If she ever ran out of pocket money, she'd have to depend on her filthy rich little brother to bail her out. She was in no position to badmouth him in public—flattering him was a better investment.

Thinking about their upcoming school life again, Hikage couldn't help but wonder: "Ugh, we're about to go to Tokyo. With Hinata's financial power, renting a whole villa downtown wouldn't even be a problem."

"But why did he insist on going to that... what was it called again? Toyogasaki High School? With his ability, he could've easily gotten into Shuchi'in Academy or the Advanced Nurturing High School."

She simply couldn't understand why her brother would pick a random school that hadn't even been around for ten years.

But then again, since it was Hinata, he probably had his reasons. No way he picked Toyogasaki just because he heard it had a lot of pretty girls…

"If that's the reason, I'd actually be grateful."

To her, her little brother was a walking weirdo with a brain full of strange ideas.

He'd film survival videos in the wild and say things like, "Tastes like chicken! Extra crispy! Six times the protein of beef!"—lines so terrifying they made the neighborhood kids cry.

His hometown promo videos looked like a bandit raid.

Then there were the bizarre inventions he commissioned, like the "Burn-the-Bridge Treadmill" and the "Upside-down Hair-washing Machine"—which were still gathering dust in their storage shed.

He had never shown the slightest interest in girls.

As his older sister, Hikage was honestly more worried that he'd get so caught up in his own world that he'd never even get a girlfriend.

What she didn't know was that Hinata's reason for choosing Toyogasaki was very simple.

It was in Tokyo.

In this mashup world full of anime characters, Tokyo had the highest concentration of 2D personalities.

On top of that, Toyogasaki's school culture was relaxed. Compared to places like Shuchi'in or Advanced Nurturing, there was barely any academic pressure—leaving him with plenty of free time.

Its central location also made it ideal for business… and for drama-watching.

Left of Toyogasaki was Beika Town (hello, Conan), right was Akihabara, north was Chinatown, and south—just a half-hour's walk—was Tokyo Dome. The area was packed with entertainment and food options, and he could even swing by Dr. Agasa's lab in Beika to pick up some black market tech.

Going to school here would practically guarantee he wouldn't miss any juicy developments over the next three years.

Even before he got the diary, Hinata had already planned out his entire high school life.

Whenever he had time, he'd search for familiar anime characters to see what kind of supernatural nonsense this world contained. And of course, he wanted to "collect" autographs and encounters from all the characters he liked in his past life.

He wanted to watch Kessoku Band's first live performance, hear MyGO play "Kasumi Kage" live, and eat popcorn while watching those "stock market romance" female leads finally choose a route.

And yeah... he had to admit, Kasumigaoka Utaha's smooth, silky thigh-highs were absolutely a major part of why he picked this school.

I mean, who doesn't like thigh-highs?

Hinata just didn't expect that after waiting more than ten years for his cheat power, it would not only arrive so late—but it would hit him with something as volatile as the Pure Yang Body.

"If I couldn't barely keep this power under control, I wouldn't even bother going to school," Hinata muttered, groaning as he finally woke up around noon, feeling the constant inner heat surging through his body.

"I've spent years building my career, and now that I finally earned enough for a normal person to retire, I wanted to start focusing on personal goals. Now I've got to rework everything."

He had started hustling in middle school—not just to raise his little sister like a princess, but to give his formerly mediocre past self the confidence to face the world.

As for his "country boy cringe videos"...

He knew they were cringey. Hikage always worried his weird projects would scare girls away. You think he didn't know that?

No matter how handsome you are, no one survives saying stuff like "Don't step on my Chelsea boots!" in a thick farmer accent. That's why Hinata never appeared on camera—he just wrote the scripts and dragged others in to perform.

But now?

"Why settle for flirting with cute girls, when I could have a whole gang of them breaking down from mental damage because of me?"

"I already mentioned Yukinoshita and Kasumigaoka in my diary. If this follows typical diary-genre logic, there's a high chance they'll receive copies of it."

"If Hoshino Ai ever sees the diary and learns what her future holds, I wonder how she'd react…"

"As for Yukinoshita and Kasumigaoka, I bet those two would stress over the diary all night. The real question is—can their mental state handle it?"

Especially Yukinoshita Yukino—a perfectionist through and through. If she discovered that her pursuit of perfection was just a subplot in a light novel, her entire worldview could implode.

But then Hinata thought about it a little more and felt reassured.

Everyone's just a 15 or 16-year-old high schooler. This was the age when people were most open to change. If Yukinoshita crumbled from something like that, she wouldn't have become such a beloved character in the first place.

"I've read enough web novels in my past life. I could probably copy those 'chat group' protagonist types—act mysterious, guide people in secret, become the mastermind..."

Hinata muttered as he began planning what to write in today's diary.

After a bit of brainstorming, he made up his mind.

"Right, those girls probably still don't know what kind of supernatural threats exist in this world. I'll just give them a gentle warning today."
