Freya left the hospital and decided not to go straight home. She went to the mall where there was a Chinese restaurant she liked to frequent. Since she hadn't had lunch because she felt sick, she needed to put something in her stomach.
After eating, she decided to take a stroll around the mall. She wanted to occupy her mind so she wouldn't dwell too much on the issue with Wilhelm. Her plans to not think about it was failing miserably, as various places there reminded her of when she used to stroll around with Wilhelm in that place. It definitely wasn't working.
Freya finally decided to leave since she wouldn't be able to stop thinking about it. It was better for her to be at home. She headed towards the escalator and heard her phone beeping. It was Hendrik who sent her a message.
" How are you? Are you okay? Have you been discharged?"
"I'm fine, thanks for asking. And yes I have been discharged."
Freya responded accurately, hoping that Hendrik wouldn't send any more messages but it didn't work.
" Did you go home already or did you continue working?"
" No, to both questions." Freya continued walking as she responded to Hendrik.
" Where are you now? Maybe we're close to each other and can meet up."
"No, I want to be alone. Thank you for your concern, but I'm not having a good day, and I definitely won't be a good company."
Freya gave her response and put her phone away. She didn't want to continue responding to Hendrik. Even if he sent more messages, Freya was going to ignore them. She truly wanted to be alone , and the company of a mafia boss was the last thing she wanted at that moment.
Upstairs in the company, Hendrik put his phone away, deciding it was best not to send any more messages. By his side was Sasha, the bodyguards he had assigned to keep an eye on Freya. Sasha followed her on a motorcycle everywhere she went and informed Hendrik. Sasha was like Hendrik's younger sister, the only female bodyguard in his empire and one of his trusted soldiers.
" You can go, keep me informed of all her moves. By now, Tobias knows she helped me. Even if Freya isn't home or at the hospital, the men should stay. If anyone suspicious or from Tobias or Tobias himself shows up , let me know immediately."
Sasha nodded in agreement and left to continue following Freya. Hendrik sighed. He was trying to keep her safe without interfering in her routine, but if he could, he would keep Freya in his house, close to him. That way , he could be at ease, without fear that anything could happen to Freya . Slowly, he had realized that Freya had affected him more than he wanted to admit.
Hendrik had already taken care of his business at one of his nightclubs in the area. Little did Freya know that the restaurant where she ate also belonged to Hendrik's family. He headed towards the parking lot, thinking that he wouldn't have any more danger of running into Freya there. He got into his car and instructed the driver to go straight to his house. He couldn't overexert himself since his injury wasn't completely healed.
Freya stopped by two more places before returning home. She arrived home in the late afternoon. Her phone beeped a few times on the way, but Freya decided to ignore it completely. She figured it would be more messages from Hendrik, and she didn't feel like responding. She parked the car while the gate closed. Only after it was fully closed did Freya get out of the car. She was traumatized by this whole ordeal of having 'mafiosi' in her workplace and her home. Freya grabbed the shopping bags and entered the house.
She put the groceries in the kitchen and glanced at her phone, which beeped once again. It was Wilhelm asking a bunch of questions about how she was, where she was, and if she was alone. Freya decided to ignore the messages and put her phone on vibration mode just do she wouldn't hear the sound of incoming messages. She placed the phone on the table and headed towards the bedroom , taking of her long sleeve shirt.
On the street, Sasha had already arrived and discovered that the two men who were watching Freya's house were dead in the car. She quickly realized that there was someone else inside the house. Sasha grabbed two guns from the trunk of the car and headed towards the house, calling Hendrik.
" The men we left at the doctor's house were shot. They must be inside the house. Call the doctor and ask her to lock herself in the bathroom while I go in."
Sasha skillfully climbed a smart tree, climbed the wall, and jumped into the front yard. She drew her gun and headed towards the house. Freya returned from my room and grabbed a glass of wine. She was wearing sweatpants and a bra top. As she passed by the little table on her way to the living room, she heard her phone vibrating. She looked and Hendrik's call had just dropped.
There were already several at least eight unanswered calls and messages from Hendrik. Freya frowned, wondering why he called so many times. Before she could send a message, Hendrik called again.
" Hello?"
" At long last, listen to me carefully and don't respond nor panic. I want you to stay calm and go to the bathroom and lock yourself in there. There is someone in your house, one of my bodyguard is already going in to get you out of there. Don't hang up and go slowly, don't let them notice your movement ."
