Hendrik left Freya's room and headed towards the reception. His expression now was completely different from when he was with Freya; he seemed imposing and intimidating to anyone who looked at him. He went towards his men, giving directives.
" Make sure to stay around here always, just keep an eye," he said. He then looked at Alan and added, " I believe Tobias is keeping an eye on the doctor. I don't know what his reaction will be when he finds out that Freya saved me."
In the room, Freya was still thinking about Wilhelm had said And She would respond.She didn't expect her reaction to be like that ,She always imagined that if Wilhelm asked her to come back, She would say yes immediately without even thinking twice. At that moment, She had doubts if it would really work again between them,She thought that if the incident hadn't tap one that the hospital,then Wilhelm probably wouldn't ask her to come back.
While she wandered in her thoughts, she didn't even realize that Anika had entered the room, she only noticed because she touched her shoulder.
" Goodness, what are you thinking so much about? You didn't even hear me enter and call your name," she said.
Freya sighed and shook her head as if it was nothing.
" Are you by any chance thinking about the handsome blonde guy who was by your side earlier?" She asked, seeming enthusiastic.
" What?" Freya asked, but she knew Anika was talking about Hendrik.
" Don't play dumb, the guy was all worried about you and was almost dragging that idiot Wilhelm out of the room, which by the way I would have fully supported," Anika said, smiling and taking out her phone, showing the video she had recorded.
Freya watched the video, seeing the argument between Hendrik and Wilhelm, at times she raised her lips smiling, she didn't imagine seeing Hendrik like that and calling her darling so blatantly.
"Well? What's the deal with 'my darling '? Have you been dating? Since when? And where did you find that wonderful man?"
Freya sighed, listening to all those questions from Anika, if only she knew what happened that night, she wouldn't be so excited.
"We're not dating, Anika. We're not a couple and I've only known him for two days, so there's no need to make such a fuss, okay?" Freya wanted to end that conversation right there, she didn't want to keep answering Anika's questions.
" Okay, but you can't deny that man is head over heels for you, and it's a great opportunity for you to move on and stop thinking about that your idiot ex," she said.
Freya suddenly remembered the issue with Wilhelm again, looked at the almost finished IV drip and decided she would leave.
"Anika, help me take off the IV, I want to go home. I'll talk to the director and ask for a leave of two days."
She was a little surprised by her friend, but since she had a tray with the things she used for another patient's procedure, she took it off.
" You should ask for a vacation and go on a trip with that hottie, or I don't know, meet someone different on your trip. Just get out of this hospital for a while."
Freya wanted to reprimand Anika, but deep down, she was right, it had been a while since she took a vacation, she really needed a change of scenery, she had been feeling very stressed in the past few days.
"I'll talk to the director about it. On one hand, you're right, I need to get out of here for a while."
At that moment, Freya thought that she didn't want to give an immediate answer to Wilhelm. She needed to think carefully about what she was going to do and taking a leave would be a good choice. She got up and prepared to leave the room. Anika took off the bed sheets, and Freya left.
As soon as she left the room, she ran into Wilhelm in the hallway. She tried to avoid eye contact and leave, but Wilhelm held her wrist.
" Why did you get up? I didn't discharge you," Wilhelm said with a smile on his face.
Before, Freya would melt at that smile, but at that moment, all those feelings were strange and she just wanted to get out of there. Freya pulled her hand free, speaking seriously.
" I'm already fine, I don't need to stay in bed for the rest of the day, and please, avoid grabbing me like that in the hallways. Your girlfriend works here, and I don't want rumors spreading with my name."
Freya turned and left, leaving Wilhelm there looking confused about what had happened with her. She quickly returned to her office after talking to the director. Freya requested the rest of the day off and another day for leave; as for taking a vacation, she would discuss it when she returned. She started gathering her things and looked at the flowers Hendrik had brought for her. She went towards the door but stopped before opening it, turned around and looked at them again. She raised the corner of her lips in a small smile and went back to get them.
Freya passed by reception, saying goodbye to the nurses and other people at the hospital. Everyone wished Freya well, she was very loved at the hospital. Wilhelm leaned against the counter as Freya left, watching her back as she walked away. Anika was there and narrowed her eyes, observing Wilhelm's expression and gaze towards Freya, and didn't waste any time.
" Dr. Freya is so lucky, where did she find that Greek god? I want to order one too,and did you see how attentive he was with her? He brought flowers and stayed by her side until she woke up, a true prince," Anika provocatively said, and the nurses smiled and sighed.
Wilhelm, on the other hand, rolled his eyes, grabbed some papers, and curtly told his secretary to send in the next patient. Anika analyzed Wilhelm's reaction and knew that he was trying something with Freya after seeing her with someone else. As Freya's friend, she could see what Freya perhaps couldn't,and she knew that Wilhelm would only make him suffer again. She would do whatever she could to prevent that.
In another part of the city, Tobias was shouting at some of his subordinates, frustrated with a delivery that had been seized by the police. Felix, his security guard and right-hand man, entered with an envelope in his hand, and Tobias dismissed the other men .
" Tell me you have some good news for me, my day has been sh*t," Tobias said.
Felix lowered his gaze, knowing that what he was about to say would only infuriate his boss further, and he might bear the brunt of it.
" Well, sir, the flowers you ordered have been delivered to the doctor, and here is the information about Hendrik from that night. He had help from someone, but I don't think you'll like to know who helped him," Felix handed the envelope to Tobias, took a few steps back, and continued.
"They managed to obtain security footage. He got into a taxi that dropped him off in a nearby neighborhood, then he walked through a few streets until he found someone arriving home in the early hours of the morning."
Felix stopped speaking, swallowed hard. Tobias was looking at the photos from the security cameras, and Felix knew he was getting closer to seeing a photo of the doctor.
" He approached the person and entered their house. He must have forced them to tend to his injuries and remove the bullet," Felix waited for Tobias to continue flipping through the photos until he stopped at one, studying it intently.
" As you can see, the house Hendrik entered belonged to the doctor who removed his bullet. She also saved Hendrik's life that day," Felix noticed the furious look Tobias gave him.
" Our men also informed us that they saw Hendrik arriving at the hospital earlier today. He must have gone to talk to the doctor."
Tobias slammed his hands on the desk in front of him, looked at the photo of Freya in front of her house again, and a sinister smile crept onto his lips.
" Well, well. So you, didn't just save my life, but also my enemy's, doctor. And it seems that you must have piqued not only my Interest, but that b*st*rd's as well," he raised his gaze to Felix and continued speaking.
" Bring him to me. I haven't decided what I want to do with her, but I won't let Hendrik get his hands on her. This doctor needs to mine and mine alone."
Felix swallowed his saliva again, knowing that his boss was infatuated with the doctor and would do anything to possess her.
" Do you intend to use her like you did with Rico? Since Hendrik seems to have shown an interest in her."
" Don't be an idiot. Didn't you hear me say that I won't let that b*st*rd touch her? Rico was a completely different situation. I want Freya for myself. She should still be at the hospital. Find out when she will leave and grab her in the parking lot. If it doesn't work at the hospital, go to her house."
Tobias walked to the window, looking at the photo in the hand. He wouldn't lose to Hendrik this time. Even if he has to keep Freya captive, he would have her.
" You will be mine, Freya. Only I will be able to admire that beautiful face of yours and touch your perfect body."
