3rd POV:
The Ice Wolf shifts its body, hitting one of the icicles forward, sending it towards the boys. Samael and Augustus move out of the way but the icicle grazes Samael's shoulder, leaving a bleeding gash. Samael puts his hand on his shoulder to put pressure on it as he keeps moving out of the way. "If we can just get closer to the village, the guards will be able to kill it," Samael shouts over the sounds of more icicles impacting the ground around them. A small trail of blood on the ground follows Samael as he tries to get out of the icicles range, but the wolf is just too fast, too agile. It's faster, stronger, and has access to Soul Essence.
Suddenly, Augustus runs towards Samael. Samael hadn't noticed a particularly large icicle heading his way. "Mael, look out!!!" Augustus pushes Samael out of the way, but he can't avoid it. The icicle impacts Augustus in the middle of the chest, piercing through flesh and bone like a knife through butter. Samael looks towards Augustus. A pain unlike anything he has ever experienced rips through him. It's as though the very core of his being, what makes Samael, Samael, breaks. The boy opens his mouth, but no sound comes out. Only a silent scream of agony. A sound like shattering glass rings out, and the very fabric of space and time, of reality itself, shatters. In that same instant, powerful beings from all over the Soulborn Universe look in the direction of the phenomenon. Seconds pass as the void around Samael grows, its edges creeping closer towards the wolf and Augustus. Samael, still locked in a silent, agonizing scream, can only watch as it consumes the world around him.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, time freezes. The growing void stops. The birds in the air, frozen. Even the two boys and the Ice Wolf are stuck. The entire Dimension was frozen, not a single inhabitant able to resist. A woman appears in front of Samael, who is completely unaware of everything around him. The woman was beautiful, beyond compare. As though a being of a higher realm had descended. She radiated a motherly aura, so warm and comforting, that it made anyone who witnessed it want to stay in her arms forever. "Oh, my poor boy. It wasn't meant to be like this." The woman was beautiful, beyond compare. The woman's hand moved forward and rested on Samael's chin. "Until we meet again, my son." The woman whispers into Samael's ear. As soon as those words left the woman's lips, the void began to close. As though time was moving backwards, it slowly moved back towards its origin point, Samael. Soon, it converged on him, then it disappeared into his body. Time unfreezes once more, and Samael looks around in confusion. All that's on his mind is those words: *"Until we meet again, my son." Who was that woman? Why did she save me? What happened to me? Why did she call me her son?* Millions of thoughts raced through his head, but they all came to a complete halt when he turned his head. Augustus was lying there, in a pool of his blood. He couldn't tell if he was breathing or if he was even alive. All he knew was that the Ice Wolf had done it, and it had to die.
Samael's body felt strong. Stronger than anything he had ever experienced. His heartbeat pounded in his ears, and he moved. His body disappeared from its place and when it appeared again he was already right in front of the Ice Wolf, left arm cocked back in a punch. His fist connected with the Ice Wolf's neck. Its head flew back as its neck caved inwards. Samael had punched a hole straight through the Ice Wolf's neck. Samael pulled his fist back and punched forward with his right hand. This time he went for the eyes. He pushed his hand through the wolf's eye socket and straight into its brain. The wolf was completely dead. Even so, Samael kept hitting it, mutilating it, until the corpse was unrecognizable as an Ice Wolf. Only when all his energy was gone did he stop. He collapsed over the bloody corpse of the Ice Wolf, laying on top of it unconscious. Through all of this, all Augustus knew was the pain of his impalement. He couldn't hear, couldn't see, just cry silently and pray that someone would come save them. Sarah arrived at the scene. She looked around, seeing the mutilated Ice Wolf with Samael laying on top. Augustus was barely clinging to life, a few feet away from the boy and the wolf. "How did he kill a Low Tier 0 Ice Wolf? That shouldn't be possible."
Four days later, Augustus woke up. He was lying on a bed in a small room. The room had black lines pulsing with some kind of energy flowing all over the walls. In one of the corners, a small desk cluttered with medical supplies and thick books stood. At the desk, a familiar face sat: Sarah Starborn. However, when Augustus looked closer, something about her felt off. She looked younger, and she was radiating an aura of authority, like that of a leader. Sarah turns her head, looking towards Augustus. "You're awake, good. How are you feeling, child?" "I'm feeling better. What happened? Where's Samael?" "Let me take a look at you, child." Sarah walks over to Augustus and grabs his hand. "I will send my Chaos Energy into you to check your body's condition." A cold sensation entered through the boy's arm, snaking around in his body before returning through the arm. "Looks like you're all healed up, child. It was a very close call, so you need to be more careful. Had that icicle hit you even a few centimeters more to the left, you would've died. It's almost crushed your heart." *I almost died? No, that doesn't matter. I need to know what happened to Samael!* "What happened to my best friend? Please tell me he's okay!" "I will take you to him, come with me, child."
