*Citizens of Ninjago City are seen running away from a group of Elemental Cobras. The cobras start spitting fire at numerous buildings and vehicles. Leroy's balloon is popped by the cobra's fire and he runs off. The Police Commissioner stands in front of the cobras, along with Jimmy and another officer. The two officers place roadblocks in front of themselves.*
"Halt!" The Elemental Cobras all stop. "As police commissioner of Ninjago City, I hereby inform you, you are in violation of city codes 54-1 "Wanting destruction." Two of the cobras look at each other, confused. "And 63-6 "Open flames in public." You are under arrest!" One Elemental Cobra spits fire at the commissioner, but misses, hitting the police car behind them and disintegrating it. "Okay, that's it!"
Another police car drops behind him. "Let 'em have it, boys!" Jimmy and the other officer aim a water hose connected to a fire hydrant at an Elemental Cobra, almost burning it. The water drips. "Oh, great." The two officers see that the fire hydrant has been destroyed by an Elemental Cobra. The cobra burns the hose. Elemental Cobras start surrounding the Commissioner and the two officers. "Uh-uh.." Cole and Kai ride towards the scene in the Rock Cycle and ATV. "It's the ninja!" The ninja all arrive.
"Hang on, guys!" shouted Cole.
*They jump out of their vehicles.*
"How about a fair fight?" said Lloyd.
The ninja run toward the Elemental Cobras. Zane throws Ice at one cobra. Lloyd kicks another cobra, Jay shocks another with Lightning, and Nova used darkness at another, turning it to stone.
"Huh, for once, this power is actually useful for something." said Nova.
"I got this one!" Cole uses his Earth Punch and knocks back the cobras. "Ah!"
Lloyd gets atop the police car. "Nya!" He blasts Elemental Cobras with Energy. "Can you get us some Water?"
"I'll try!" Nya runs, while Cobras spit fire at her. She dodges the fire. "He-yah!" She runs towards a fire hydrant and kicks off the lid. She manipulates the water and blasts it at the cobras.
Cole and Zane do Spinjitzu and hit cobras. Kai sees two citizens being cornered by two Elemental Cobras.
"Pick on someone your own size!" Kai tries blasting them with , but nothing happens. He grunts. The two cobras turn around. "Oh, right. No powers!" The cobras start for Kai but are then electrocuted by Jay. Kai turns around and Jay salutes him. The latter goes off to fight other Elemental Cobras. Kai sighs. The ninja finish fighting the Elemental Cobras.
"Oof, that's gonna hurt his confidence." Nova mumbled, as she had just finished turning a few more Cobras into stone.
"Oh, thank you! It's good to have you all back!" said the Commissioner.
"Good to be back, Commissioner!" said Lloyd.
The ninja all take off their hoods.
The Commissioner gets a notification on his cell phone. "We're getting reports, the leader of the serpents is heading for the Ninjago History Museum!"
"Her name's Aspheera. And she's deeply nuts." said Cole.
"Oh, yeah. "Miss revenge, revenge, revenge." Keeps repeating that word, like a broken record." said Nova.
The ninjas looked over at her, all raising an eyebrow.
"Oh, right, you guys haven't heard her say that word yet." said Nova.
"I'm started to question her future sight isn't all random." Jay whispered to Cole.
Lloyd was shaking his head, turning his attention back to the Commissioner. "Whatever she's after, you better not let her get it."
"How can we help?" The Commissioner asked.
"Evacuate as many people as you can and set up a perimeter. We'll handle the rest." said Lloyd.
The Commissioner turned to his the officers. "You heard him!" They run off.
"We better get a move on!" said Lloyd.
The ninja put on their hoods and start running.
"Actually...I'm sitting this one out." said Kai.
The ninja stop and turn around.
"What?!" Everyone but Nova shouts.
"Aspheera stole my powers, remember? I can't help! I mean, Jay had to save me just now. Jay!" said Kai.
"Huh. That's a weird way of saying thanks." said Jay.
Lloyd takes his hood off.
"Just go without me. I'll only get in your way." said Kai.
Lloyd walks over and puts a hand on Kai's shoulder. "Powers don't make a hero."
Kai knocks back Lloyd's hand. He scoffs. "Dude, that's just something that people with powers say to make people without powers feel better."
"That's not true! We need you." said Lloyd.
"Yeah, I've seen a few heros without any powers, still being able to do great things back in my old world. And no one in that world has any kind of crazy powers or magic like we have here." said Nova, walking over. "Well if you count superhero movies, like Batman, the Green Arrow, Iron Man, and such of what I remember. But the less they know about that. The better." She thought to herself, knowing very well she was just lying.
"Well, good for your old world. But we are in this world, not yours." said Kai, glaring at her.
Fireballs start falling.
"Well, it was worth a try." said Nova, shrugging.
"We don't have time to argue! The people in that museum need help!" said Nya.
"She's right! We gotta go!" said Cole.
Kai turns around.
"If you change your mind, you'll know where we'll be." said Lloyd.
*The ninjas starts running to the museum. They jump over the police car. Lloyd jumps on. He looks at Kai and follows the others.*
"So, I didn't know there were heros in your world." said Lloyd, looking over at Nova while they were running.
"Well, it's only a few, it's not like they are famous." said Nova, keeping an eye out for anyone who might need help. As they were running.
"And here I thought, I finally knew everything about you." said Lloyd, with a smirk under his mask.
"As if, I still have a few things under my sleeve about myself. That you don't know about." said Nova, rolling her eyes playfully.
Lloyd let out a small chuckle, before getting all serious. "How is your head doing? Any headaches?"
"I'm fine, Lloyd, like I've told you five times now." Nova groans in annoyance.
"Just wanna be sure you're alright, after everything you've been through. Mostly with your right eye." said Lloyd, running closer to her.
Nova began blushing a little behind her ninja mask, she cleared her throat as to keep her focus. "It's nice of you to worry about me so much, but let's keep our focus on the mission ahead."
Lloyd gave a small nod. "You think you could use the shadows to get us there faster?"
"Sure." Nova smiled behind her mask, and began running into the middle of the group. "Alright everyone, time for a shortcut!"
"No! Not again!" said Jay, as they all got pulled into the shadows.
*At the museum.*
"Th-Thank you, mistress, for bringing me back. I'm deeply, deeply touched that you should come here for me." said Char the serpentine.
"I'm here for this!" Aspheera points her staff at the Scroll of Forbidden Spinjitzu poster. "Not you."
"Ah!"
"If you wish to serve me, find me that scroll!" said Aspheera.
Char bows. "Your wish is my command."
*Char leads the way to the Scroll of Forbidden Spinjitzu. Lloyd watches them from behind a door. With Nova staying in the shadows.*
"My god, this guy is such a simp for her." Nova mumbled.
"They're looking for a scroll. Must have some special kind of power, but they haven't found it yet." said Lloyd, turning his head to look over at the shadows where Nova was hiding. Hoping she would tell them something.
"Maybe it's in another exhibit." Nya walks towards a map of the museum. The other ninjas follow. "Hall H!"
"Come on. If we hurry, we can beat them." The ninja all start running to Hall H. Aspheera, Char, and the cobras are shown rushing to Hall H. Gayle looks at one of the Elemental Cobras, but it hisses at her. The ninja ran toward Hall H's door. "There! Look!" Lloyd points at the exhibit signs next to the door. Lloyd opens the door and they enter the room. They see the Scroll of Forbidden Spinjitzu inside a glass case. "This has to be it!"
"Great! Kai, melt the glass!" Jay points at the case. "Oh...yeah."
"It wouldn't work anyway. It's probably clearstone. Maybe if I caused a centralized earthquake..." said Cole, but Nya walks to the case and opens it. "Or we could do that."
Lloyd walks to the case and grabs the scroll. Energy starts rushing through his body, and it comes out of his head.
"Lloyd!" Nova came out of the shadows and knocks the scroll out of his hands.
Lloyd starts panting.
"Are you okay?!" Cole asked.
"What happened?" Zane asked.
"I...I don't know. It was like suddenly I felt this... this wave of energy pass through me." said Lloyd.
"Your head was on fire!" said Jay.
Nova looked over at the scroll. "Why, didn't the First Spinjitzu Master, just destroy these stupid scrolls."
The ninjas hear the door open.
"Ah! You...impossible! I left you entombed!" said Aspheera.
"Yeah? Well, we got out!" said Cole.
"Your highness! The Forbidden Scroll!" said Char.
"Oh, my god! Shut up, you stupid simp!" Nova growled.
Aspheera smiles. "Attack!"
"Don't let her get the scroll!" said Lloyd.
The ninja ran to the scroll. Aspheera and Char rush to the scroll as well. Aspheera hits the scroll upward, and Lloyd kicks it higher up. Zane and Jay start fighting Char. Cole hits an Elemental Cobra with his, and Nya blasts Water at it. Jay electrocutes Char. The scroll falls down and Lloyd catches it. Aspheera knocks the scroll out of his hands. Lloyd kicks it upward, while Jay and Cole fight Elemental Cobras.
Aspheera tries to hit Lloyd with her staff but Nova blocks it with her warfan. He throws the scroll across the room. Nya and Zane are seen using their Elemental Powers on two of the cobras. Lloyd, Nova and Aspheera rush to the scroll. The Scroll of Forbidden Spinjitzu rolls next to Char. He tries grabbing it, only for Aspheera to push him aside.
"That's mine!" Lloyd and Nova kicks her. "Ah!"
"Not!" said Nova, with a smirk on her face.
Lloyd picks up the scroll, but Aspheera knocks him backwards. The scroll goes flying. Nova runs toward the scroll's direction and catches it. Aspheera rushes to Nova and knocks her back. Jay dodges one of the cobra's fireballs and electrocutes the Serpentine.
"My god! How can one scroll be such a fucking pain!" Nova growled, getting back up.
Lloyd and Aspheera fight for the scroll. The scroll is caught by Lloyd and the latter kicks Aspheera. Aspheera knocks him back. Just as she's about to catch it, Lloyd kicks her back and catches the scroll. Energy flows through his body. Aspheera knocks him onto the floor.
"Ha!"
"Gah!"
Lloyd gets back up. He runs, leaps, and blasts Energy at Aspheera. She dodges, and the element hits the wall, creating a hole in it. Lloyd Looks at his hands. Aspheera slithers towards him and knocks him back.
"Ah! Gah!"
"Enough!" Nova used the shadows, and grabbed the scroll. The moment she had it in her hands, she felt the increasing boost in her powers, and a purple fire covered the top of her head.
"S-such power, so that's what it feels like." said Nova, amazed, until she felt a sharp pain in her head. Making her get down on one knee, holding her head with her free hand. She could hear the voice a lot more clearly, as a sound of cracking could be heard.
"Nova!" shouted Lloyd worried, as Aspheera rushes towards her.
Nova didn't hear him or anything else, but the sound of that person's voice and the cracking. Making the pain worse, until Aspheera used her staff to knock her over, and the scroll out of her hands.
Aspheera catches the scroll and chuckles.
"Yes. At last!" Lloyd gets back up. "The power of the Forbidden Scroll is mine." She attaches the scroll to her staff. She unrolls the scroll. "Mine!"
"Not if we have anything to say about it!" said Lloyd, before sneaking a glance over at Nova, worried as she was laying on the floor holding her head in pain.
The ninjas run at Aspheera. She does Forbidden Spinjitzu.
"Oh no!"
"Ninja-Go!"
The ninja do Spinjitzu. The ninja's tornadoes clash against Aspheera's, only for them to be knocked back, except for Lloyd. Aspheera tries to knock him back, but Lloyd stops himself. She moves her Spinjitzu tornado toward Lloyd and knocks him back. Aspheera laughs and blasts fire at the ceiling. Parts of the ceiling fall on the ninja and Nova.
"No!" shouted Lloyd.
Aspheera resurrects more Pyro Vipers and conjures Elemental Cobras. "My loyal servants, rise and obey. You three, finish the ninja. The rest of you, follow me."
"I won't let you hurt them." Jake stands between the cobras and Lloyd.
Kai attacks the cobras, grabs Jake, and turns the sprinklers on. "Now, Zane. Let 'em have it!" Zane defeats them with his Ice.
"You...you saved the day. Even without powers." said Jake.
"Yeah, well, I made a new friend who reminded me ninja never quit." said Kai.
"You mean...me?" said Jake, surprised.
"Yeah, Jake. I mean you." said Kai.
Everyone but Lloyd, Nova and Zane embraces each other.
"Are you okay?" Zane asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. But I'm not so sure about Nova." said Lloyd, walking over to Nova, placing a hand on her head. Making her flinch and let out a painful whimper.
"What happened back there? What did that scroll do to you two?" Zane asked.
"I don't know. Whatever it was, when I touched it, I felt...I felt..." said Lloyd, as he carefully picked up Nova, who grabbed his gi with one hand, while using the other to hold her head as tears began running down her face.
"What?" Zane asked.
"Power." Lloyd answered.
Aspheera in Zane's memories. "Revenge!"
"Like nothing I've ever felt. We have to get it back, Zane. Before it's too late." said Lloyd.
"Is Nova gonna be okay?" Cole asked.
"What did the scroll do to her?" Nya asked.
"Whatever it did to her, it clearly affected her injured head." said Jay.
Nova mumbled something, but it was too low for the others to hear. But her mumbling slowly grew louder to where they could actually hear her.
"Make it stop, make it stop, make it stop, make it stop! Please no more cracks!" Nova tightened her grip on Lloyd's gi, her body shaking in pain and fear, with tears running down her face.
Everyone looked at each other worried, since they had never seen her like this before.
