Chapter 5 - Battle of the Weak. Part 3

Swoosh!

Massive chunks of concrete went over her head, she barely ducked under it as she focused her attention towards the two TDs.

They were still locked in onto each other, seemingly not noticing her as of yet.

'An opportunity!'

Unlike previously where both the TDs took notice of her immediately, they were currently against one another.

Katsuri, being the absolute chad she is...

'It's time for me to run!'

Sped her away around the building, trying her best to quickly get out of the two TDs sight.

What else could she do?

Fight those monstrosities!?

She's not a superhuman!

Even if she did have a sword, she have her own doubts that she'd be able to leave even a scratch on any of the two.

Despite having the sword changed into two pair of guns without her own notice, she still at least thought of how much damage they could possibly do.

But to figure that out, she'd need some bullets.

She checked the magazine earlier, but there were no bullets.

At this point, she would've preferred the sword instead even if she struggles to wield such weapon.

After weighing her chances, she figured running away would be the safest option...

Crash!

"Oh, come on! What the f-"

The orb TD had crashed right in front of her, coming from above.

Fortunately, she ducked just in time for it to barely missed her.

Another thing, a bunch of dust had risen up due to the impact, effectively making a cover for her.

She tried to think of a way to survive this...

But for some reason, inside her head, instead of a bunch of strategy, it was just many possible scenarios of her dying.

With a sword, she was cut in half by the orb.

With a gauntlet, she was crushed under the weight of the floating eye's hands.

Using a rectifier, she was thrown into a swarm of smaller TDs.

With a broadblade... She had died inside of the rubble, one in which had fallen under the weight of the two TDs.

Her head hurts.

She clenched her forehead using her hand, the cold metallic feeling of the gun also pressed against her head.

With her vision unusable, she darted sideways, trying her best to get away from the TD that had landed nearby.

Out of the dust cloud, she met the floating eye.

Almost out of reflex, she threw one of the gun straight into the exposed retina.

It proved to be effective as the TD staggered at the impact of her metal weapon.

She ran around it, dodging the sentient hands as they tried to grab a hold onto her body.

She quickly run, trying to outrun the speed in which the eye recovers and the dust cloud settled.

The moment one of the two scenario happened, she's practically dead.

So she ran.

Even as her breath ran out, even as her legs screamed.

She was moving out of pure adrenaline.

It felt like she could beat an elephant if she were to be faced against it in this state.

But she knew that is delusional thinking.

No matter how strong a person is, they could never beat someone with that much weight class difference.

She need to get away from the two.

"Fuh... Ah..."

It was silent.

She had ran continuously for the past 10 minutes.

It felt like her lungs and legs were burning.

Even her arms were aching from moving along with her running motion so much.

But she can't stop moving.

If she did, she'd pass out.

That was the least of her concern.

What would happen if she did pass out?

What are the chances no other TDs are nearby? Practically zero.

If she were to make do with a spot, she'd be caught in another battle almost immediately, she's quite certain of that.

Perhaps she should've just stayed at the place where she met with Phoebe. Seeing how the girl was able to safely search around in that place, it should be quite safe.

Much better than the wild, at least.

Her lips were dry.

She's absolutely dehydrated. There were grazes of blood all over her exposed skins.

Mostly around the shin and arm.

She had been using shorts at home. After all, who would've expect that she'd be transported to another world?

Fortunately, her jacket has a hood.

But there were practically soaked in sweat from all the game of tag she'd been playing.

It was already night time.

The lights around her were out, only illuminated by the moon.

She kept jogging around, even though she was tired, for a place to settle down.

The moment her adrenaline ran out of steam, she's going to pass out.

So while she still can, she's going to look all over the place.

Her right hand still had a tight grip on the remaining gun.

The magazine were still empty.

Not like she expected anything else.

In a fortunate turn of event, Katsuri saw an abandoned house.

It was quite small as she mistook it for a shack for a moment.

Cough cough

She covered her mouth as the coughs were probably attracting other TD's attention.

In a bit, she arrived at the front door.

She knocked on it as she jogged in place, just in case the house had an owner.

After a few seconds had passed, she just opened the door and went inside.

It was quite dark. If the moonlight were not illuminating the surroundings through the window, she would've thought she had been transported to another place again.

She closed the door.

Immediately after, she sat down right at the entrance, leaning her back against the door.

Cough!

It was tiring.

It had been a while since she had slept, and the one time she tried to sleep, she had been transported to another world.

This world, Solaris 3, is the place in which the game 'Wuthering Wave' takes place.

It is not a safe world.

Monsters roam the land as if it were a natural part of world.

Few selected people cast illogical abilities out of frequency.

She doesn't know how such thing even makes sense.

Was everything in this world based on sounds? Frequencies?

If it were based on music, she'd be damn since she is tone deaf.

She was thinking of these things to distract herself from the fact that she's about to be in an extremely vulnerable state.

She's about to lose consciousness.

She had hoped someone, anyone would find her, keeping her save.

Crash!

Though her hope were not answered as the last thing she heard before passing out was the sound of a massive object slamming the ground extremely hard a couple hundred meters away from her location.

If it was normally, she would've woken up almost immediately. But she had used up almost every last bit of her energy reserves.

Due to that, her eyes closed in on itself.
