Chapter 10 - Vampires have returned to Mystic Falls!

Asher carried Jenna to her home with ease, his legs jumped over the steps as he arrived near her doorstep.

They had been drinking and talking throughout the night but after a while Jenna fell asleep from exhaustion and well being drunk. So in the end Asher had to bring Jenna to her home.

His leg glossed over the doorstep as he encountered a slight resistance, his eyes glanced over at the drunken Jenna as he shook her awake. A brief flicker of consciousness appeared in her eyes.

"Jenna, invite me in." He asked her with a low voice. As Jenna laughed in a drunken haze, "You don't need to be so formal, just open the door." Asher's eyes twitched and looked at her drowsy figure, as he shook her awake once again.

"Jenna, I am not joking, invite me in." He said in a harsher tone as she clicked her tongue, "Fine, come in, Lord Asher. I hope you find our home welcoming and fit for your arrival, there is no extravagant dinner prepared so please be patient."

Jenna drunkenly mocked him as Asher faked a laugh, "You're so funny Jenna."

He took her key from his pocket and turned open the lock, as the door swung open from the harsh wind. He wandered around the house with Jenna in his arms, but didn't find any bedrooms.

"Where's your room, Jenna!" Asher spoke in a hushed voice so as to not wake anyone up. It was quite late, two if he remembered right. He didn't want to stir up any trouble by speaking so loudly, so late in the night.

Asher shook Jenna awake once again. And repeated his question, "Up the stairs, first left." She blabbered in a daze, causing Asher to sign deeply.

He used his super speed and went up the stairs in a blur, right in front of him were two doors, one in the center and the other two to his right. He gazed at the door intently before turning left.

He opened the white door present in front of him as he walked inside the cozy room. There was a small night lamp on the side of the bed which was turned on, as it illuminated the room snugly.

The bed was kept neat with a folded quilt at its edge, next to the bed was an orange nightstand with two drawers. Above the bed laid a charcoal painting of a horse, two shades were present on either side of the bed.

Further from the bed was a black dressing table, the room was white in color and had a homey feel to it. Asher walked over to the bed, as he laid Jenna gently on it, he twisted her and placed her on the side, so that when she wouldn't choke on her vomit.

He placed her quilt over her and turned off the light as he got ready to leave, suddenly a strong grip clasped his wrist pulling him back.

"Don't… don't go. Stay here." A soft voice resounded behind him as Asher turned back to face Jenna who tightly gripped his arm.

"You're drunk Jen, maybe tomorrow." He said with tenderness as he tried to pry open her hand from his wrist. 'Damn it, how is she so strong?' Asher thought as he used a bit off his vampire strength to pry her hand open.

He closed the door behind her and exited from her home, with a soft sound he closed the front door. "I'm bored, is there anything I can do?" He muttered quietly as he got into his car and turned it on.

The Impala's wheels spun around the road before it quickly left the area.

"...."

Elsewhere, a few miles out of town. A massive disturbance was occuring, police cars flooded a place in the woods, as the media clamoured to be let in.

"So what does the preliminary results say?" A blonde haired woman asked, she wore a blue police uniform with her hair falling to her neck. A golden badge was present on the coat, which had the symbol of Mystic Falls.

"There's been a bite mark around the neck, half of the carotid artery is missing, likely swallowed. The bite was strong enough to completely rip apart his head, Sheriff." The man read off of a brown clipboard.

He wore a white overwall with a mask over his mouth. He then pointed towards the second of the two men and continued.

"There's gunpowder around his shoes and on his fingers, and the shell casings around the ground indicate that he fired an entire magazine, 30 rounds to be exact.

"He has a purplish spot on the back of his chin, likely caused by a drastic strike. He has a few leaves present all over his body, his neck has been snapped but he seemed to have been alive for a few moments after that.

"He has dirt underneath his nails, like he tried to claw his way away but he passed away a few minutes later. The first body is not completely drained of blood but almost a litre of blood has been drained."

He paused for a few minutes to let that sink in before he continued, "There's no blood around the body, so it hasn't been spilled, more like someone drank it. But these people have been decked out with assault rifles and also guns.

"Their trunk held even more weapons, no way an animal could manage to kill them when they had this much gear. One of them also emptied their entire magazine at it, but the animal's body isn't present anywhere around. You know what this means right, Liz?"

The man asked, his voice held traces of fear as he looked at the Sheriff. Elizabeth nodded her head and turned towards a man in a clean suit, "How should I run the story? There's already 4 bodies Liz, I can't keep running the animal attack story." He said with a slight agitation.

"And this makes it the sixth pair of bodies. Just run the animal attack story again, Logan. We'll resolve this soon, but with this it's clear. They have returned to Mystic Falls, after a century, vampires have found their way back to Mystic Falls."

Her voice was ominous and held a deep indescribable fear.

Meanwhile, the perpetrator of this attack—Asher rested his head on his palms and massaged his head slightly, as a pair of dark shades was propped up on his ears.

"Sunglasses down, Mr. Pendrax." An annoying voice resounded from the front of the class. Asher suppressed his urge to rip out Tanner's head and slowly removed his sunglasses.

"Apologies, Mr. Tanner." Asher said with deliberation, as he ran his hand through his head. His sclera was red from his blood vessels being enlarged as he collapsed into his seat.

'God I drank a lot yesterday. Note to self, only consume three hundred bottles of bourbon, if you don't want to get extremely hung over the day after.'

Asher thought to himself as he let out a sigh, his fingers remained cold with little to no warmth. He had forgotten to drink his daily seventeen cups of coffee to heat his body up.

Asher dozed off in class during Tanner's and Stefan's little verbal scuffle.
