[ Chapter IV (4): "03/20/2025— IN MY OWN WAY, I'M SURVIVING THE APOCALYPSE!" ]

Salivating in seeing the Canned Vegetables option, he then without any hesitation at all, clicked it. In turn, the said item materializing out of thin air in front of him, on the floor where he is currently sitting. [ "Holy... this thing actually does work." ]

Smiling slightly to himself, he then reached out to the said food, this being the first official food of his other than the chocolates, candies, junk foods and ramen he had eaten. And to him, this is everything.

First of, it materialized from out of thin air, meaning he could eat these things without worrying about food contamination from the blood of monsters, pest or mysterious diseases that could be roaming about.

Second of, this is healthy food, something that can give him energy throughout the day, to survive in the Apocalypse, especially with food on him going on scarse with no way to get more... Now he does.

Lastly of them all, [ "Finally some good fucking food." ] He could taste something delicious, as he then opened it up, very easily so, as his lengthened and dirty nail is a factor in this. Before then chowing on it.

He could feel and taste the carrots, cabbage, peas, beans and other more flavor in the said can, as no sooner than later everything inside it was emptied out by him in record time. [ "Delicious." ]

Ever the picky eater, Elias rarely ate vegetables, thus causing his skinny and lanky apperance... But now, in the Apocalypse with the food limited, eating fresh vegetables is considered a luxury, one that he knows... As this is the first time he ate one since the start of the Doomsday.

[ "But it's not enough." ] Still hungry, still salivating, Elias' eyes shone bright as he glanced besides him— at the floating System Shop that is able to provide him with clean food, without worry, he then clicked the first option twice...

[ 498 SYSTEM CREDITS ]

This decreased what amount he has, the currency he earned from killing those Goblins outside— System Credits. Still plentiful in his eyes, he then began to eat the newly created Canned Vegetables in front of him, as he then placed the empty can nearby alongside the plates and cups.

After finally having his fill, Elias was able to feel some strength come back to his body, as his flatten stomach gain something to digest on, other than of course, uncooked stuff that it doesn't derive proteins on. [ "Okay, what do we... have here." ]

Elias eyes scanned the options available on him, and noticed the Canned Vegetables that he ate 3 of which cost exactly 25 Credits or System Credits. Then a Baseball Bat that has common rarity in it for 55 Credits, something to protect himself with.

Then a small Red Backpack for 40 Credits, not a bad deal in his eyes, as he doesn't have any other backpacks aside from the ones he used on school 3-4 years ago. Then a Survival Kit containing about 5-7 items inside it for 50 Credits— definitely a great deal, as he had witnessed people dying out of blood lost in some cases, definitely would purchase this. [ "But what is... this?" ]

All the items presented to him are worthwhile his time, especially when he has plenty of that in the Apocalypse. Oh, and also because he is in the Apocalypse wherein fresh supplies are limited— food, weapons, medical aid, and equipments are needed no matter where one goes.

That is the normal side of things... But to Elias, he is the farthest thing from normal, as he now wields a System, powers, and even ability to make things appear in front of him by spending some imaginary currency. Yes, as he is more focused on the 5th slot at the moment— at the Random Common Skill item that cost 500 Credits, he wants that dearly...

He personally had witnessed it, through the first skill of his— The Ultimate Dweller's Domain that makes a small 20x20x20 area wherein nothing can enter or pass by without his permission, he has another—

His second skill called Ultimate Dweller's Eyes, one he earned just seconds ago but isn't able to put into test yet. So for the moment due to lack of funds, he ignored the said randomized skill that the System is offering at him.

And instead began to click away on the floating tab in front of him, having finally calculated what he needs to buy, how many he should buy, and why he should buy. After some time, his 498 Credits turning to nothing but 13 Credits in a flash.

[ "Why do I feel hurt by this?" ] He glanced at the floating window, at the total amount of imaginary currency that he has, and could only see 13 from the original 573 and wow, he couldn't believe how much of a big spender he really is...

Now thinking about it, he really is a big spender, especially in how out of the blue he just went to a grocery a week back. Bought for himself foods that isn't healthy with what little money he has, and in how that actually saved his life in the Apocalypse.

Funny in how his bad habits actually came and saved him from dying, or losing strength, before then getting murdered by a gigantic spider or something like that in the end... Still, he is out of shape due to that endeavor, but at the very least he did have some food to lean on; though unhealthy.

He bought for himself 1 Baseball Bat for safety, the knives that he has aren't long enough for fighting, and he doesn't have another heavy shelaine to drop onto monsters in case of emergencies. Then 2 Small Red Backpacks to place his stuff in, first bag is in case he needs to go out and scavage, then the other is just backup.

He then bought 2 Small Survival Kit, in case he does bleed in an unforseen accident, then he could at the very least have bandage on his side, and painkillers if it does have one. In total, those all cost about 235 System Credits.

That is less than a half of the total imaginary money he had from "accidentally" killing Goblins, so where in the hell did the rest of his money g- on food... Elias was hooked in eating some fresh Canned Vegetables that he bought 10 of them, that is about exactly 250 Credits in total.

And judging on the looks on his face, on how he stares down the canned goods that materialized on his floor alongside the others... He could be seen not really regretting his impulsive buying habits, as he then wipes the saliva off the side of his face.

[ "Damn it, I don't regret a thing, at all!" ] About to open one up just to eat it, but stopped himself as he needs to save up on food, manage to be more precise. So, as a rule of thumb, he would only eat this if he dearly needs it i.e. in 3 hours when he wouldn't be able to control himself.

About to start preparation for defending his turf, Elias paused as he then tried to stop breathing, trying to focus his hearing on outside pass the crickets... [ "What in the damnation?" ] If he isn't wrong, then this might possibly be another group of...

[ "Goblins!" ] He could hear them riding their vehicle and such, a modified 4-wheeler to fit a group in, one changed to fit their asthethic and short stature. In a single vehicle, a total amount of 20+ or-so Goblins could fit, especially with most of them hanging by the roof of the car, enjoying it...

Disgusted by their apperance he sneared at them, about to move away from the window as to not be seen; he then paused, as he realized that, why should he hide? He is impossible to kill isn't he? Unless he does step a foot out of his domain that is...

And also, this could be another influx of Credits for his empty wallet... A win-win, as he then gleefully placed his head out, his nose touching the red light, some part peeping out. [ "This is cool... actually, this is great! That could work!" ]

Elias gains Credits by killing Goblins or other monsters if he isn't wrong, he doesn't want to fight one on equal ground, so why not abuse and use his advantage before they could pick up on it and adapt against it. Especially because this group of Goblins seems to not know a thing about his set-up.

[ "This could really work, a-absolutely!" ] He doesn't know if they'll stay outside and be easy targets, or enter his apartment building and try to drag him out. But either way, he would get an opportunity to fight and kill them, so he wouldn't regret this decision one-bit... That is unless they have a bulldozer, then in that case... Then yes.

Preparing himself, he closes his eyes before then taking a deep inhale before then exhaling loud, repeating this process before then be suddenly gains newfound strength; in no time, screaming for the whole neighborhood to hear, [ "FUCK ALL OF YOU GOBLINS, COME AND GET ME...! PLEASE!" ]

Putting all anger he has on that scream, the adrenaline in experience and credit farming on predatory Goblins made him excited. Very so, as he then screams out loud even more, profanities flying in the air, as even what little remaining sleeping maya nearby— brown native birds of his county woke up in shock, in hearing a wild man scream on the dead of night, attracting attention.

It didn't just attract the attention of the birds, which then flew off. No, it also attracted the attention of other monsters, as the sizeable bugs hiding inside the other buildings move to see what's happening... The rag-tag of Goblins then changing the direction of their vehicle in hearing the profanities being thrown in the air.

Gleefully so, as even though they couldn't understand it, it sounded to them like one such prey— a human is trying to put on a brave front before succumbing to death, plausibly one that is cornered and is in fact dying... They are wrong, as in their arrogance they easily confused screams of happiness with screams of terror...

As on the 4th floor building of an certain "abandoned" apartment building, is currently one Elias Elliot screaming, the smile on his face practically plastered, no different from that of a Goblin as some saliva drips down the side of his face.

The said saliva then hitting the smoken vehicle under him, inside of which filled with Goblins that perished under the terrifying hands of this mad individual. Reduced to nothing but experience points and credits to him... [ "I'M HERE, DEFINITELY HELPLESS AND EASILY KILLED. HUNT ME!!" ]

After some time, he could finally see the vehicle of the said Goblin group stopping by near the building he is in. He glanced at them and could see a spear being hurled at his shit-eating face... The one who threw it? Sure that it would kill him, but unlucky for him... Elias is something else.

Throwing a middle finger at the litle green bumpy faced monster, Elias then watch in real-time as that shit-eating grin that the monster is showing turned to confusion, as his shit-eating smile is much more superior, especially when he is under the protection of his domain— the spear having bounced.

[ "Come closer you little turds, I have a pretty big present for you all..." ] He whispered to them, making faces as he does so, to provoke them in approaching where he is. Which seems to work, as they then gathered to look up at him, throwing rocks, throwing spears, aiming bows... All not working at all.

Before then a few of them did the wrong thing and approached where he is at, [ "Stay there!" ] As Elias then went and grab the nearest heavy object he could find... That is of course his empty wooden cabinet— [ "Viva, I cast wood!" ] before then throwing it down, turning some Goblins into black paste on the ground, with the remaining angered by it. [ "COME AND GET ME!" ]
