Chapter 14: Flying Lesson with Frequent Problems (Part 1)
"When the exploration mission reaches a certain value, there will be extra rewards?"
Ivan was a little curious. This reward wasn't given out directly; instead, he had to go to the Restricted Section to find it in the middle of the night. This process always made Ivan feel a little creepy.
But since it was a reward, Ivan decided to go. After all, Ivan had seen ghosts and spirits, so what was there to be afraid of late at night?
In the Great Hall, Harry and Ron were sitting at a round table eating lunch. When they saw Ivan standing there in a daze, they hurriedly greeted him.
"Ivan, this way!"
"Where have you been this morning? Why do you look so miserable?" Harry was very curious when he saw Ivan looking exhausted.
"Just looking for a place to practice some spells." Ivan rolled his eyes, picked up a piece of grilled sausage with a knife, and stuffed it into his mouth. He had wasted the whole morning without eating anything and almost starved to death.
This was the first time in so many days that Ivan had consumed his magic power at such a high intensity, and he still felt a little dizzy.
Ivan was feasting in the Great Hall, while Harry and Ron were excitedly discussing flying techniques.
After listening to most of the passage, Ivan remembered that he seemed to have a flying lesson in the afternoon, which aroused some interest.
After all, flying is almost everyone's dream, and even if you have to ride a broom under your crotch, it doesn't affect this enthusiasm.
It was even more lively over at Slytherin table. Draco Malfoy was surrounded and cheered by the crowd, loudly boasting about his previous experience in flying practice.
"I learned how to ride a broomstick before I went to Hogwarts. My dad took me flying all the way back home. One time we even encountered a Muggle plane. If I hadn't dodged quickly, it would have been knocked down!" Draco said proudly.
Ivan almost vomited out the goat's milk after taking a sip.
Crashing a plane? If you're so awesome, why don't you fly into the sky?
If he had flown so high on a flying broom without any protection, he would have frozen to death long ago...
"Ivan, have you ever ridden a broomstick before?" Harry had been annoyed by Draco's bragging for a long time, and now seeing Ivan's big reaction, he hurriedly asked.
"No." Ivan shook his head decisively. Even if he had learned it before, he had forgotten it now...
"What about you, Ron?" Harry asked with a glimmer of hope.
Ron didn't disappoint Harry and talked at length about the time when he practiced with Charlie's old broom at home.
Ivan just watched and listened to Ron and Draco's boasting quietly. Anyway, they would all be exposed in the flying class later...
Sure enough, in the flying class in the afternoon, following the whistle of Madam Hooch, Harry was the only one among the twenty or so young wizards present who summoned the broom placed on the ground into his hand immediately.
Draco Malfoy, who had previously boasted that he almost crashed a plane, was a step slower than Harry. Fortunately, the broom finally flew into Draco's hands obediently, so he didn't lose face in front of Harry.
Ron was in a terrible situation. Perhaps because he shouted too loudly, the broom bounced up and hit him directly on the forehead.
"Up!" Ivan shouted to the broom, imitating Madam Hooch's demonstration, but the broom just stayed on the ground, spinning lazily, with no intention of getting up at all.
Ivan was anxious and couldn't help regretting that he hadn't read a few more books on flying before to brush up on his proficiency.
It wasn't until Madam Hooch turned around after making her rounds that Ivan had an idea and hooked the broom with his foot and kicked it gently into his own hand, becoming the third student to get the magic broom.
Madam Hooch saw that Ivan held the broom steadily and nodded in appreciation, then went to teach other students.
Harry was a little stunned by Ivan's actions. Ivan put his hand in front of his mouth and made a gesture to Harry to silence him. At the same time, he felt relieved in his heart; at least he wouldn't get a bad grade for this class.
As long as you have academic points, riding a broom is not a difficult task...
However, Ivan complained for a long time about the fact that the system only had one redemption option, the Academic Experience Card.
Why is there no exchange that can enhance talents?
What if he, a poor student with average talent, was found out for pretending to be a top student? Where would he get his GPA?
In order to protect his class evaluation, while Madam Hooch was teaching other students, Ivan imagined hundreds of cool ways of riding and the troubles that might be encountered during the flight.
And he prayed that the tattered broom in his hand would give him some respect. If he couldn't fly after riding it, wouldn't it be embarrassing...
"Look here, everyone. I'll only show you once." After seeing that everyone was holding the broom steadily in their hands, Madam Hooch walked to the front and demonstrated the correct riding posture.
"Wait, when I blow the whistle, push off the ground with all your strength. Remember to hold on to your brooms tightly, and try to rise a few feet..."
Madam Hooch gave orders to everyone loudly, and Ivan also got on his broomstick in time, ready to experience his first high-altitude flight.
However, before Ivan could try, Neville, who was not far away from him, flew high into the sky with a "whoosh" and let out a huge scream in mid-air.
"Ahhh~"
Neville flew at least twenty feet high in terror, and the young wizards below were in chaos. Ivan remembered that Neville might fall, so he quickly drew out his wand.
"***Wingardium Leviosa!***" Ivan cast a Levitation Charm at Neville, who was falling rapidly from mid-air.
The power of magic instantly stopped Neville's falling, and he was suspended more than three meters in the air.
Madam Hooch's heart was finally at ease. God knew how worried she was just now. If something happened to Neville in the flying class she taught, Madam Hooch felt that she would have no face to stay at Hogwarts.
"Well done, five points from Gryffindor!" Madam Hooch looked at Ivan appreciatively.
[Ding, your academic performance points have increased by 5 points...]
At the same time, Ivan also received a notification that his academic performance points had increased, and he felt slightly happy.
The Gryffindor students, led by Harry, Ron, and others, also applauded.
However, before everyone could clap their hands a few times, Neville fell directly from mid-air.
The scene was very embarrassing...
"Sorry, Madam Hooch, I seem to have run out of magic power." Ivan's smile froze on his face, and he shrugged helplessly. He had been practicing spells all morning, and it was a relief that he could just catch the rapidly falling Neville.
Anyway, I've already got the GPA, so at worst I can just deduct the extra 5 points...
