Chapter 13 - BD13

Chapter 13: Secrets Hidden in the Restricted Section

"Come on, sit anywhere you want. No need to be so restrained."

Hagrid brought a plate of rock cakes to the table and sat down on the chair first. The wooden support frame made a creaking sound, which made Ivan and the others look a little worried. Fortunately, the chair was of good quality and stubbornly supported the weight it should not have had to bear.

"Hagrid, this is Ron, this is Hermione..." After sitting down, Harry pointed at everyone and introduced Hagrid to them, but Ivan stood up before he could introduce them.

"Hello, Hagrid, my name is Ivan, nice to meet you!"

"Oh, me too." Hagrid stretched out his big hand and shook hands with Ivan, but the difference in their body shapes made the handshake look a little funny.

The big dog in the room was circling around Ron, and sometimes it would pounce on him and make his face drool.

Ron hid Scabbers in his pocket the moment Fang pounced on him. Although he had never heard of a dog eating a mouse, the experiences of the past few days made Ron a little suspicious.

It was as if someone was deliberately trying to murder his mouse...

Next, Harry and Ron complained to Hagrid about how Snape had deliberately targeted them in class. Hermione frowned as she listened, but did not intend to refute.

Ivan didn't join their discussion. Although Snape disliked Harry and was prejudiced against Gryffindor students, he had no problem teaching. Many of the potion recipes he taught were improved by Snape himself.

Especially when he unexpectedly received an excellent evaluation in the first Potions class, Ivan was unable to utter any curse words.

Of course, it would be better if Snape could give more questions during class.

"Gringotts Bank was robbed?" Just when Ivan was bored and wanted to try how hard Hagrid's rock cake was, a newspaper next to the teapot suddenly caught Ivan's interest.

Harry and Ron, who were chatting, also stopped and came to the newspaper, where they saw an article saying that a huge robbery occurred at Gringotts on the night of July 31st. People concerned believed that it was done by some Dark witches or wizards, but the goblins at Gringotts insisted that nothing was lost.

"It happened on July 31st," Harry shouted suddenly, as if remembering something. "Hagrid, I remember that day was my birthday, and we were there too!"

"Really?" Hagrid said vaguely, not daring to look Harry in the eye. He awkwardly changed the topic to rock cakes and enthusiastically invited everyone to eat more.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione were all seriously troubled by the rock cakes which were as hard as bricks and almost broke their teeth, but seeing Hagrid's eager look, they didn't want to just throw them away.

Ivan secretly soaked the rock cake in tea in an attempt to soften it a little, and reluctantly ate half a piece.

When they returned, Hagrid was still very enthusiastic. He took a basket of rock cakes and stuffed a lot of them into everyone's pockets, even though no one wanted them...

The four of them returned to the castle together, and then separated at the stairs. Harry and Ron returned to the dormitory, while Ivan took the time to look for the Room of Requirement in the castle.

Because in previous experiments, Ivan found that no matter how sufficient the knowledge reserves are, without practical experience, the growth of proficiency may stagnate.

The search continued until Tuesday morning of the second week, when Ivan found some traces on the eighth floor of the castle.

It was a wide corridor with many portraits, and at the end there was a tapestry of a troll beating Barnabas with a club.

Ivan walked to the wall opposite the tapestry, concentrating on the training ground he needed. After walking back and forth three times, a door suddenly appeared on the originally flat wall...

The door was tightly attached to the wall without any gap, as if it had been there before.

Ivan pushed the door open with a hint of excitement. After he entered, the door behind him closed automatically. Inside was a super-large training ground. The hall was decorated brightly and transparently, and the left and right rows were filled with dummies for practicing spells.

[Ding, the mysterious place, the Room of Requirement, is discovered...]

Ivan had expected the voice in his head, but he did not expect that the exploration mission would increase by three percentage points.

You have to know that the library of inherited knowledge only increases the progress by five points, which shows how important this place is.

"***Lacarnum Inflamare!***" After a brief warm-up, Ivan waved his wand and began to practice the spell he had learned.

The white light hit the dummy directly, and one of its arms expanded and exploded with a "bang", sending sawdust flying in the air. Ivan then restored the arm with a recovery spell.

For the next half an hour, various colorful lights swept back and forth in the practice room.

Transfiguration Charm, Petrificus Totalus, Levitation Charm, Lumos...

After nearly half a month of crazy study, Ivan has learned all the basic spells. Although the levels are not high, they have all been upgraded to the first-level standard so that they are no longer sometimes effective and sometimes not.

However, in his first try, Ivan soon discovered that the hit rate of his spells was somewhat worrying. It was okay for fixed targets, but if it was a moving target, he might not hit it even after casting several times.

Ivan also tried to redeem a learning experience card during actual practice, and found that this learning buff was also useful during actual practice.

The improvement of his brain's comprehension ability and analysis speed allowed Ivan to cast spells more quickly and accurately, greatly improving his hit rate. He could even predict the movement of distant targets and the trajectory of the spell's light.

This means that even though they have the same level of spells, Ivan's strength is much higher than usual in the state of the experience card.

"I've become dumber, but also stronger..."

Ivan couldn't help but sigh as he exited the experience mode again. After each use, the decline in his brain's comprehension ability always gave Ivan a feeling that he had suddenly become stupid.

After practicing for a whole morning, Ivan's brain was already groggy and his magic power was almost exhausted. Considering the flying class in the afternoon, Ivan rested for a while, then left the Room of Requirement and found a secret passage on the eighth floor that he had never walked through, intending to go all the way back to the hall of Hogwarts.

As soon as Ivan stepped out of the secret passage, the long-lost system prompt sound rang again.
