Chapter 20 - Chapter 20

The insidious ability of his ash was doing it work, the burnt wound on Tigers left leg was not healing and unlike the forest it appears he does not have the ability to stop it spread.

As they continued their fight he noticed he was getting slower, more attacks were getting really close to hitting him and he was landing less and less attacks.

That combined with their strategy of one taking a hit so the other could land one was shifting the battle to their advantage. Ashborn sent a kick, huge ghust of wind following it.

Just as Tiger was about to dodge, his left leg stumbled and he missed his step, that gave Ashborn the opening he needed, the kick landed on Tigers stomach and sent him reeling backwards.

He threw up everything he ate along with blood and what appeared to be pieces of his organs. Oya, what wrong, is your leg your leg getting warm? Ashborn asked with a taunting smug smile.

Tiger growled, he was down on one knee and holding his stomach. He looked at Ashborn with venom in his eyes. If looks could kill, well both of them would be dead since Shade was giving Tiger a more dangerous look.

The big guy roared and jumped towards Tiger with his mouth wide open, his fangs gleaming in the moon light like polished blades.

Wounded as he was, there was no way Tiger would let Shade bite him as that would spell his doom but he no longer had the dexterity he had before.

He rolled on the ground to dodge before standing up and limping a few times. What Ashborn did not expect was for him to stomp his burnt foot on the ground a few times.

The ground shattered with stone flying in all directions. A grimace surfaced his furious face. You deserve death for that, he said in a deep growling voice.

As if the pain meant nothing to him anymore, he moved like a predator In the wild, running sideways on building walls picking up speed. Shade sunk into his shadow and jumped out one on the building wall Tiger was on.

However Tiger was already jumping into another building causing Shade to miss. Ashborn did something foolish which showed his lack of experience.

He threw his dagger at Tiger trying to stab him from afar. The dagger flew with a boom and hit a building like a canon, not that he knew what a canon was like but he expected it was like that.

He was used to fighting beasts who had no use for his daggers but this time his opponent was different. Tiger pulled out the dagger from the wall and grinned.

That was really foolish brat. Well I thought I should make things fair, lest your old bones fail to keep up( fuck fuck fuck fuck, why the fuck did I do that?) Although he acted all cool he was really scared.

The old man was dangerous without any weapon, the only reason he was not dead was because his claws weren't powerful enough to breach his defence.

However the daggers were, they were made from the tusks of the same beast the bloodline he uses for defence is from. Tiger jumped down, ignoring the obviously painful burns on his leg.

Shade appeared next to him. Be careful, he may have come across a strange weapon. Shade gave him a questioning look. Tiger jumped at them, instead of rushing at him like last time they jumped back.

Well he did, Shade jumped into the shadows again making Ashborn wonder how much essence he had to waste it like this. However he was not one to judge.

With Tiger having a weapon, it was not time to hold back. He activated his panther bloodline and directed blood essence into his feet.

Black glossy fur covered his feet increasing his speed even further. Even though he was already faster than Tiger, he couldn't afford any mistakes, one was enough to kill him.

However he still believed that was not enough so he released a wave of hot ash infront of him. That did stall Tiger, he was warry of the ash.

However a second later he started running on walls around the ash that covered the whole street. However fast Tiger was, he still could not catch up to him and he could see the frustration on his face.

What wrong? Too old to run? Even after I generously weakened myself to your level because of how pitiful you were you still only amount to this much? Being old and decrepit is truly a curse.

Ashborn said with a remorseful look as if he felt sorry for Tiger. This further angered the man who had known nothing but respect and fear for decades.

And Ashborn kept sending wave after wave of ash in his direction but he was somehow able to dodge all of them, even though they were fast and covered a very wide area.

Over 2 kilometres of the city was now covered in hot ash, any life within it was already dead, he had actually seem rats burn to literal ash In seconds.

Even the old buildings who had been inside the ash the longest crumbled like sand. The target of this devastating attack meanwhile was running like wind out of range of the attack.

He was running out of essence, using multiple bloodlines at the same time while empowering his body with blood essence was not exactly good on essence expenditure.

However Shade was nowhere to be seen, the good thing was that he was not the only one running out of essence. Although Tiger had more blood essence since he was in a higher stage, it was not as pure.

Due to the lack of it purity, he needed more blood essence to activate his techniques. If I keep this up I will certainly be the winner. He kept running backwards to escape the enraged mans pursuit.

Just as he was imagining his sweet victory he tripped, yes tripped, it made no sense for someone like him to trip as he could shatter any stone he hit but he did.

What the actual hell, he thought as his vision shifted, he was now looking at the three moons in the night sky, how pretty, he thought. He noticed the thing he tripped on, it was not a stone.

It was a metal ball, smooth as if it was polished, he turned his head and saw a thin long man looking at him with a smug smile and cruel eyes.

He turned his eyes back to his opponent, Tiger was descending from the sky like a messenger of death, a silver gleaming dagger In his hand. Fuck, Ashborn thought.
