After Gu Ning walked out of the room, Windsor and Darkmoon slowly opened their eyes. The two exchanged a glance, a blush creeping onto both their faces.
Windsor was a bit more composed—after all, she had already been honest with Gu Ning and shared an intimate connection. Her shyness this time stemmed mainly from having shared a bed with him in front of someone else for the first time.
Darkmoon, on the other hand, was clearly more reserved. This was her first time being so physically close to a man—sharing a bed right from the start was a big step for her. Her heart rippled with a mix of emotions...
As she looked at Windsor now, she felt not only embarrassed but also a little nervous. Windsor was Gu Ning's woman, and yet she had clung to him during the night. She couldn't help but worry that Windsor might resent her for it.
Windsor noticed the complex emotions in Darkmoon's gaze and could more or less guess what she was thinking.
She reached out and held Darkmoon's hand, smiling gently. "Don't worry, Darkmoon. If you like him, I won't hold it against you."
Darkmoon was flustered at the words, quickly replying, "Windsor, I don't have feelings like that!"
She genuinely cared about Windsor's opinion and was afraid this would cause a rift between them.
"You don't need to worry that I'd be upset with you," Windsor said, sitting up without minding the way her curves were on full display. She lightly tapped Darkmoon on the head and added, "I can tell Gu Ning likes you too. If you like him, be brave."
Seeing how sincere Windsor was, Darkmoon finally realized she wasn't just testing her—it was genuine advice. She scooted closer and rested her head on Windsor's lap.
Looking up at Windsor through the curves of her chest, she asked softly, "Windsor, don't you care about him?"
"Of course I care! I love him deeply," Windsor shot her a sideways glance, a bit annoyed Darkmoon would question her feelings for Gu Ning.
Darkmoon frowned slightly. "Then why would you let me pursue him?"
"Because I can see that Gu Ning likes you. Naturally, I want to help him," Windsor said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
If Gu Ning could hear her now, he would've been deeply moved. Windsor truly loved him—so much so that she would go out of her way to help him get what he wanted.
"Ah!" That answer clearly caught Darkmoon off guard. She didn't expect Windsor to love Gu Ning so unconditionally. Sure, he was a decent guy—but this much?
If it were her, she'd definitely have some opinions if Gu Ning tried to be with other women.
"You're not afraid he'll grow distant if he gets involved with someone else?" she asked.
"Of course not! Gu Ning would never grow distant from me. He'd just bring you closer too," Windsor said confidently. She clearly knew him well.
"Alright. Just remember what I said—if you like him, be brave," Windsor said as she patted Darkmoon's head and gently rubbed her little black cat ears.
"Mm." Darkmoon hummed softly in response.
"Okay, time to get up," Windsor said.
The two got out of bed and walked out of the core cabin. They saw Gu Ning lounging on a recliner under a parasol, a small table beside him with chilled fruits and drinks.
The two walked over and sat down beside him.
Gu Ning turned to Windsor and said, "Windsor, come do some fishing. I'm going to make some ice."
As he spoke, Gu Ning handed her the resource fishing rod, and then passed Huohuo—his little fire spirit—to Darkmoon.
Windsor took the rod and started fishing, while Darkmoon hugged Huohuo tightly. She was clearly fond of the small, beautiful creature.
Gu Ning then took out the Hero Job Transfer Card he'd acquired yesterday and used it on Huohuo.
He checked her updated status:
Huohuo / Fire Elemental Spirit (Legendary)Level: 6Strength: 43Agility: 42Defense: 40Wisdom: 40 (+3)Mana: 430Class: Hero, Fire Elemental MasterSkills: Fireball, Scorching Body, Flame Bind, Flame ShieldEquipment: Small White StaffLoyalty: 100Affection: 100
Huohuo's status had changed drastically. Gu Ning hadn't expected a single Hero Job Transfer Card to have such a powerful effect.
Now her information panel was similar to Windsor's—it didn't even look like she was a pet anymore.
In addition to gaining the Hero class, she now had the "Fire Elemental Master" profession, which seemed to be an innate class unique to fire elementals.
What surprised Gu Ning even more was her loyalty and affection—they were both maxed out.
It seemed that summoned pets always started with full loyalty and affection, but those stats only became visible once they became heroes.
He made a mental note: if he got another Hero Job Transfer Card, he'd use it on Xiaolan. Hero classes offered far better growth potential than normal pets.
Gu Ning closed the status panel and got back to making ice blocks.
Each time he finished a batch, he had civilians move the blocks to the storage area.
Time passed, and Jasmine came to find him.
"Sir, breakfast is ready," she said, bowing slightly.
"Alright, let's eat first," Gu Ning replied, getting up and calling for Windsor and Darkmoon.
Huohuo flew from Darkmoon's arms to land on Gu Ning, who quickly caught her.
Looking into her lively, sparkling eyes, Gu Ning felt like she had become even smarter and more animated after becoming a Hero.
Back in the core cabin, Gu Ning sat down at the table where Jasmine had already set out breakfast.
The meal was light: porridge, steamed buns, and some stir-fried cabbage with vinegar.
As he ate, Gu Ning started checking the three items Windsor had caught that morning.
The first one surprised him:
Blueprint: Mineral Extractor (Blue Quality)With this blueprint, you can build a machine that allows you to mine ores. It will contribute significantly to your territory's development.Build Requirements: Iron Blocks ×200, Copper Blocks ×100, Rubber ×40, Electronic Components ×100
A blue-quality blueprint. If he used his "Shapeshift" ability on it, he could upgrade it to purple quality.
Gu Ning stored it away happily and checked the second item—it looked like a compass.
Treasure Detector (Green Quality)Can detect treasures within a 1-kilometer radius. With its guidance, you can easily locate valuable items. Usable for 3 hours.
Not bad. While it was limited to three hours of use, Gu Ning was satisfied. If it were permanent, it wouldn't have been just green quality.
He'd need to use it strategically, when the timing was just right, to maximize its value.
Then, he looked at the third item...
