Chapter 49 - Chapter 49: Inquiry

Both of them were lying face down on the bed, their perky hips quite tempting.

Windsor's figure was full and curvy, while Darkmoon's was tight and firm. Her black cat tail was still swaying back and forth.

Gu Ning stood up from the sofa and walked toward the bed.

He gave Windsor's butt a gentle pat, causing a ripple to spread.

"Ah!" Windsor gasped softly, covering her butt with her hand. She turned her head and gave Gu Ning a shy glare. "Gu Ning, what are you doing?"

Her face flushed red, and her tone held a trace of complaint.

She was already embarrassed enough and didn't know how to act in front of Darkmoon. Now Gu Ning did this right in front of her—too shameful.

Darkmoon blushed a little at the scene. Thinking of Windsor and Gu Ning's intimacy earlier, she felt her body heating up.

Gu Ning didn't mind at all. He jumped in between the two, scooting side to side until he was nestled between them.

His affinity with Darkmoon was already 75. Such contact wouldn't upset her.

Besides, a little physical closeness could improve feelings. It might raise Darkmoon's affinity too.

Gu Ning put his arm around Windsor, his palm sliding gently along her back.

"What were you two whispering about?" Gu Ning didn't care about Windsor's shyness. They'd be living together anyway—better to get used to it early.

Hearing Gu Ning's voice, Windsor stopped squirming. Both she and Darkmoon looked down in silence, unsure how to respond.

They had been talking about private girl stuff—how could they possibly tell Gu Ning?

Seeing their reactions, Gu Ning didn't push it. If he made them angry, it wouldn't end well.

So he changed the topic at just the right moment.

"Darkmoon, how did you kill that flying swordfish so easily just now?" Gu Ning asked what he had been wondering. "With your current strength, it shouldn't have been easy."

Windsor had the same doubt when she heard Darkmoon beat it in one hit. Now she also looked toward her.

Darkmoon didn't hide anything as they both looked at her.

"That was because of my skill—Moonshadow," she answered.

"Moonshadow?" Gu Ning asked with a puzzled look. He couldn't see others' skill effects.

"My skill is a bit special," Darkmoon explained softly as they looked confused.

"It can only be used at night under the moon, and has a time limit. When activated, my strength doubles."

Gu Ning was stunned. The skill had big limits, but doubling power was still crazy strong!

If Darkmoon reached level 30 and used it, how terrifying would that be?

She truly lived up to her title as a Nightstalker. In the darkness, her strength was fearsome—much stronger than Windsor.

"What does your Dark Erosion skill do?" Gu Ning wanted to understand her skills better for future plans.

"If it hits the enemy, it puts them in a weakened state."

Gu Ning nodded. That skill inflicted a negative status on the target.

As for Dark Blade, Gu Ning had seen her use it. He guessed it could change weapon shape, enhance sharpness, and similar effects.

"No problem. Let's rest!" Gu Ning said.

"Then go to the sofa!" Windsor immediately told him off.

Gu Ning had guessed Windsor wouldn't let him sleep on the bed, but didn't think she'd be so direct. Clearly, tonight had really overwhelmed her.

"Sigh!" Gu Ning sighed. "I can't believe I still have to sleep on the sofa. So tragic!"

He got up, about to leave.

Windsor hesitated a bit but didn't stop him. Without Gu Ning, she wouldn't have ended up in this awkward mess.

Just then, Darkmoon suddenly spoke.

"Why not let the Lord rest on the bed?" she said.

As soon as she said it, both Gu Ning and Windsor looked at her in shock. Darkmoon realized they misunderstood and quickly clarified.

"I mean, you two sleep on the bed, and I'll take the sofa."

Windsor let out a breath of relief—she thought Darkmoon meant something else…

Gu Ning was slightly disappointed. So no miracle tonight. But he could still try!

"Darkmoon really cares about me!" Gu Ning looked at Windsor and said, "Since Darkmoon said it, I'll sleep on the bed then."

Windsor heard the hint in his words and felt wronged. It's not like she didn't care! If she didn't, would she have snuck off in the night to comfort him?

As Darkmoon started to get up, Gu Ning grabbed her hand.

"No need to sleep on the sofa. The bed's big enough. We can all sleep here."

Hearing that, both girls stared at him like he was some pervert. Windsor especially glared at him hard.

"I mean, Windsor sleeps in the middle. She can keep us apart. The bed's big—it can fit four or five people." Gu Ning hurried to explain.

He knew they couldn't share blankets, but he could use this chance to get closer.

After the explanation, Windsor didn't object. She could accept this plan, but looked to Darkmoon to see what she thought.

"Darkmoon, how about it? The sofa really isn't as comfy as the bed," Windsor tried to persuade her.

Darkmoon didn't want to agree at first—she was fine with the sofa. But seeing Windsor's persuasion and Gu Ning's hopeful look, she suddenly changed her mind.

"Alright," she said calmly.

"Good! Time to sleep. We wasted enough time already," Gu Ning said, pulling Windsor into his arms and rolling to the inside.

Darkmoon lay down beside Windsor on the outer edge, her heart pounding.

Windsor was shy, but still hugged Gu Ning, resting her head on his chest.

Gu Ning kissed her forehead. "Good night."

Windsor saw him wink and knew he had teased her on purpose. She pinched the soft flesh at his waist and gave a small humph.

The cabin quieted down, only their heartbeats could be heard...

Morning came. It was the fourth day of the week.

Gu Ning opened his eyes and found himself somehow in the middle. Windsor and Darkmoon each had a leg draped over him.

The weight of happiness…

Seeing their fluttering lashes, Gu Ning knew they were awake—but said nothing.

He got up, took the cooler, and walked out.

Time to make some real money today!
