Red dragons
"There seems to be a call from someone in the Davenhart family," Carmine said varily. He had been working with her since the beginning, though this network could be considered fairly new. Their reputation and work were well established.
After all these years the number of weird cases he had heard is frightening.
They work to establish righteousness though they are not afraid to get their hands dirty. But some people did not understand what they represent. They make their calls as if they were goons who would be away at the sight of money. Though he knew they were simply fools.
The intelligent ones were afraid of them, they knew their loyalty and knew their power.
"What was it about? And did they tell you they were from Davenhart?" Rocco asked. There were cases where people trusted them enough to reveal who they are. And cases where they don't, but they do find who they are either way. It was essential for them to see the whole picture before they dealt with it.
"No, they did not Raven found them."
"Well what was it about?" Afterall the motive mattered the most, he really hoped it wouldn't be too much or too ridiculous
" Well they want to find out the current location of Elanor Foster and her children it seems." Carmine said. They took care of many things, but finding people or stalking was not something they did that often. Though it seemed a simple request he didn't like the way things proceeded
"And do we know where they are?" Rocco asked
They kept tabs on a lot of people so that it was easy for them to gather information when the time arise rather than starting fresh. Mostly of people in the higher society or complex public images.
"Well yes.she seemed to have gone abroad after her daughter died it seems, she lives there with her son now." Carmine said, their story ahad been sensational once
"Her daughter died? And how exactly is she connected to the Davenhart family that they want to find her now?"
"She was the youngest daughter in law of the Davenhart family. She was one of the most prominent figure once, then her husband died followed by her daughter. She couldn't bear to be here anymore so she left abroad. Her family and business is quite flourished there, though many people here are unaware of that ." Carmine said softly.
He could only imagine the pain she had been through facing all these loses
"Well her husband had been a bastard before he died, so that guy died right. But definitely not the daughter. Though there had been not much news about her even before her death. She used to study abroad under her grandparents care majorly and had only been here for a few months before the tragedy befell " Raven said as she waltzsd into their conference room. She didn't like it in the least when he was not part of the discussions.
"Is that so? Then why do they want to find her and wait a minute, did they say children ? Does that mean the girl is not dead?" Rocco pointed out
Considering that the girl was the Davenhart child were they hoping she was alive. Or was there something else at play. He did not like the Davenhart family one bit. They were vile creatures in his opinion. Most people did not even like to be near them.
"Well pointed sir, I think so too. But I don't think that's their eagerness to meet their niece. They seemed rather frightened in my opinion. Maybe they killed the girl?" Raven pointed out
Raven was known for her active imaginations while Eliza was curt and straight to the point.
There had been many cases where she had twisted the story and read way too much into it. Though Carmine had always been a silent partner in it.
"I guess that could be a possibility" Rocco said,it would not been that odd if they had indeed killed her.
"Are you agreeing with me!!!"
"Are you agreeing with him!!"
Both Carmine and Raven shouted. Raven who already had her high in the sky was elated.
Carmine as always was in a silent agreement with her. But he couldn't believe that his boss agreed though.
"Well considering the Davenhart family I wouldn't put it past them." He concluded.
" So we are not taking up the case right?" Caramine said afterall they were here for that.
"I think we should look into her death . I mean it may be absolutely useless. But I feel like this is a mystery for us to solve" Raven said she would be ecstatic if she could find out about it.
" I'm not sure Raven already has too much on our plate. We shouldn't be doing this and I think we should drop the case. Hand it to Eliza she will close it." Rocco said. The last thing he wanted was a team engrossed in a murder mystery which was not even their case.
Raven poured clearly upset that the they were not handling the case while Caramine sighed that they do not go after something that was defenitely not meant for them. This may have been one of the few times were he disagreed with Raven.
" Well I'll get going. I have got a lot of things to take care of" Raven was getting out of the conference hall once what she had came for had been over though the mission was unsuccessful.
"She acts like she is the only one working " Caramine pouted while Rocco laughed.
"She is a diva and we all know it, let her have her fun." Rocco said. He had always been protective of her. She was like a sister he never had or like the sister he had lost. He ignored the pain that was aching in his chest as he too rose to get out.
Caramine followed Rocco to take care of things he had to. While they all were lost in their own world. They failed to notice that someone had heard all their conversations. Someone capable enough to play with what they have learned.
