Chapter 19 - PROTOCOL X

Kràntàk moved through the wall as if it were made of cotton. Sharv was calm as he had already spread his senses far and wide, but Suvan's heartbeat was increasing in anticipation of danger. Sharv cut open a six-foot-tall, human-sized arched door in the wall, then held it in place by enveloping it with his PRĀNÀ shell. He then sheathed his sword and pushed the cut wall section forward just enough to let them in. Suvan had taken out his mace and activated his Earth Chakra in preparation for battle.

But once they moved to the other side, it was anticlimactic. There was nobody nearby. On the faraway guard posts of the East and South sides, guards were dozing off. "Don't use your Chakra; it might alarm the system," Sharv said without looking back.

'Everything is just as the map showed,' Sharv thought. 'I can trust the watch now.' They were perfectly on the diagonal of the main building. Without wasting any time, Sharv activated his Earth Chakra alongside the Space Chakra, and the ground beneath them vanished. It was a pitfall of fifteen feet, nothing much for a Chakra master.

As they moved down, Sharv recreated the ground above, leaving just a single small hole to maintain the airflow. It was completely dark in the tunnel. But Sharv ignored it and started digging forward, moving towards the prison by disintegrating the ground in front of him.

In the deepest basement floor, some voices could be heard in a dimly lit room.

"Oh yes, just like that," a man moaned, his voice thick with lust. Another sexy woman's body slammed rhythmically against his waist, her hands exploring his hairy chest with slow, tantalizing strokes. Her eyes stared directly into the man's as he also reciprocated, moving his waist in rhythm.

"Why don't you marry me, Khar?" spoke the woman in a breathy, sultry voice. "Then we can enjoy this pleasure whenever we want."

"Don't forget you are still a prisoner," Khar said, increasing his speed. "I can save you from imprisonment by bringing you underground to my chamber, but I can't marry you."

"I will follow your every order, do as you say… oh… I just can't get enough of you, please…" the woman was pleading, her voice going up an octave with pleasure and lust, but Khar put a finger on her lips. "Darling, I think some moles have dug a hole in our prison. Let me handle them first," he said with a smile, but his eyes turned pitch black. With a dissatisfied, angry grunt, he vanished mid-thrust, leaving behind a gasping woman, a bed still rocking from their act, and an open cupboard door swinging slightly in the dim light.

Above the main building of the City Jail, a man appeared, hovering high in the sky. Wearing a blackish-golden suit, he looked down at a certain area in the southeastern direction of the building. He then lifted his right hand and created a 10-foot-long, black, shiny spear, from tip to shaft. A reddish hue then coated the spear as his Fire Chakra activated with a red glow alongside his Earth Chakra. It shone in the light of the second moon of the planet, which was also red in color.

The muscles in his right hand bulged out as he threw the spear towards the ground. It moved faster than sound, creating a loud boom and an air shockwave. This shocked all the guards, as a powerful gust of wind jolted them. Some sleepyheads even jumped off the high watchtowers (guard posts) in panic, assuming it was an enemy attack.

The spear, meanwhile, penetrated the ground easily with a loud bang, creating another shockwave as the ground trembled slightly. Sharv, who was digging, sensed the imminent danger and immediately created a red earthen shield in front of him and Suvan, as his Earth Chakra glowed brownish-red. The spear first crashed into his shield, embedded itself in the upper half, then exploded the next second.

The explosion fractured the shield, sending chunks of red metal flying from its upper arc. But it completely blew off the ground above him, creating a fifteen-foot-deep and just-as-wide crater. Debris flew up to a hundred meters. As the dust settled, it revealed Sharv and Suvan, who was standing behind him, a little disoriented. Sharv canceled his shield and looked up at the man behind the attack with skepticism and intrigue.

"It's Marshal Khar," a voice declared on a loudspeaker. "Assume your positions. We have intruders." Khar himself was looking down with irritation.

"PROTOCOL X: ELIMINATION"

His deep voice boomed through the whole jail.

In a dark cell in the first basement, two men who were sleeping peacefully woke up, shaken to their core. The explosion had shaken them both mentally and physically.

But before they could gather themselves, they heard a declaration.

"PROTOCOL X: ELIMINATION"

"What!" exclaimed one of them in a shaking voice, barely audible to his cellmate.

"Shardul, I think someone strong has infiltrated here," said the other one. "Do you think it's our boss?"

"Are you mad, Murti?" asked the first one in a whisper. "He is not that reckless," he added, "and I hope it's not him. I have read about this protocol's formation. It can even damage Marshals."

On the surface, the situation changed in seconds. A twenty-foot-long barrel of some type of artillery gun rose up from the flat roof of the Eastern guard post. It pointed at Sharv and locked on with a bright flash. Then it fired a single round of ammunition, with a length of three feet and a radius of six inches. It moved at supersonic speeds.

But Sharv was faster. His Earth Chakra turned to deep Red, and he channeled his Space Chakra alongside it. He could sense the power held by the weapon. Without taking any risks, he disintegrated the ground under Suvan's feet, sending him plummeting fifteen feet down a sudden hole, and sealed it with numerous red earthen shields. He still didn't forget to create a vent for airflow. He lifted his right hand, which was enveloped in a blackish-red aura, just in time to meet the projectile in front of his face. The projectile, which had arrived before one could blink an eye, lost all of its momentum as it disintegrated into, seemingly, nothing.

After that, the artillery fired numerous shots in under one second. Sharv simply kept his hand up in front of him and disintegrated the other projectiles with the same ease. Once the firing stopped, he noticed a single bruise on his palm. What he didn't know was that it was just the probing round.

'That's the reason weaponry is useless against powerful Chakra masters,' Khar thought, looking at the outcome. "Let's see if we can deepen that bruise," he said with a maniacal grin.

"UNLEASH"
