Episode 99: "Nemesis Rising"

---

The command center was dead silent—except for the hum of static from the darkened screen where Nemesis had spoken. Kara stood frozen, her chest heaving as the weight of that name echoed in her bones.

Nemesis.

He wasn't just a clone.

He was a weaponized evolution—a cruel mirror of Elias Vane's obsession with perfection.

"Shade, get me a trace on that broadcast," Kara said, her voice low but deadly focused.

Shade's fingers danced across the console. "Already trying. The signal bounced off seven satellites, back-traced through dead servers. This guy's not just a puppet. He's a ghost with teeth."

Adrian looked over Kara's shoulder. "Then we need to cut the strings."

---

Elsewhere—beneath the ruins of the Old World Citadel—Nemesis stood before a chamber of sealed pods, each filled with failed experiments, discarded lives.

A single figure knelt before him—a woman with jet-black armor, her face half-covered by a silver mask.

"Project Requiem is ready," she said. "Orders?"

Nemesis turned, the flickering red of his core eye casting shadows across the lab.

"Let the dead rise," he replied. "And let Kara be the first to watch the world rot."

---

Back at the hideout, the team was spiraling into damage control.

Tessa loaded the last of the heavy rounds. "If Nemesis got access to the Omega Vault, we're screwed. That place holds every dark secret Vane ever created. Every failed prototype. Every buried mistake."

"And Kara's memories," Adrian added.

Kara froze.

The room fell silent.

"You think he's using them?" she asked slowly.

Zero nodded from the corner. "He's not just using them… he is them. Nemesis was born from your pain. Your stolen past. That's why he hates you. Why he wants you broken."

Kara clenched her fists. "Then we give him a reason to fear what he created."

---

That night, Kara wandered into the lower bay, alone.

The wind howled through the cracked walls, but it was the silence in her own mind that scared her most.

She stared into the shattered reflection of a metal panel, seeing both herself and not.

"How much of me is still mine?" she whispered.

A voice answered from behind.

"You're not the only one haunted."

It was Adrian.

He stepped closer, eyes tired but honest. "I see you fighting every day, Kara. Fighting to hold on. You don't have to carry it alone."

She turned to him slowly. "What if he's the part of me I don't want to admit exists?"

Adrian touched her face gently. "Then burn him out."

Their lips met—brief but explosive. Not soft. Not tender.

Desperate. Real. A spark before the storm.

---

The next morning, alarms blared again.

Shade burst in, eyes wide. "He's here."

On the horizon, the sky churned with black drones, lightning arcing between them like a mechanical storm.

Beneath them marched the army of Requiem soldiers—twisted, reanimated prototypes infused with Kara's DNA.

At their front: Nemesis.

Alive. Smiling.

"This is the reckoning," he declared through the speakers. "Kara, my sister in fire. Let us finish what was started."

---

Kara stood on the rooftop, wind slicing through her hair.

Behind her, her team readied for war.

Ahead, the flames of the past rose to meet the future.

She lifted her blade, and her voice cut through the sky.

"Let the ashes remind you: I was never your puppet."

---

To be continued…

🔥 The lines blur, the war ignites, and Nemesis won't stop until everything burns.
