"What the fuck?!" Liam shouted. His heart beating like a drum.
"Was that Pulse of energy... a beacon?" Liam asked.
[Yes, that sent a beacon to the current Alpha within the Hale Lineage]
"Fuck..." Liam murmured as his palm clenched, his knuckles turning white due to the amount of strength he was using.
Taking a deep breath, Liam arranged his thoughts.
"System, does the beacon get sent out if I hold it indirectly? And what type of location is it? Is it a live location of the Medallion?" Liam tried to calm down as he asked his fist loosening.
[No, unless you are holding it directly, the location is not sent, it sends out the last location, as being not related to the Hale family makes contact with it.] The system replied.
(A/N: bit of a change, The Second Ability will activate as long as the person holding it is not the Hale families current Alpha, valid question is how can this medallion even locate who the current Alpha is, and that will be explained down the line so dont worry about all that)
Reading the text on the blue holographic panel, Liam couldn't help but feel a smirk creeping up on his face.
"This was a powerful Artifact" Liam thought as he stared at the medallion.
"To unlock it requires the blood of Three Generations of Alpha belonging to the Hale Family" Liam said as a few names began appearing in his mind.
His heart calming down, he knew that ever since the fire the surviving members of the Hale family had long left this town.
He stared at the Medallion, almost like he was admiring it.
"Laura should have received the pulse, but even if that's the case, she is too far away to get to me, by the time she gets here following the pulse, I along with the Medallion will be long gone" Liam said.
He reached and grabbed hold of the book from within the cabinet, and with a swift move, threw the medallion in the middle of the book.
"Technically, I am not in contact, so it shouldn't activate the Medallion, right?" Liam asked and the system confirmed that it would indeed not activate the second Ability
Maintaining a good grip on the book, Liam quickly headed towards the meeting point near the central staircase.
Even if Laura can't get here, he should get out of the forest before he accidentally encounters a Banshee or a Druid, he thought to himself.
Arriving at the meeting point in front of the entrance of the manor.
He glanced at his phone, the time they had agreed upon was just about up, so he expected Scott and Stiles to soon make their way down.
And he was right, Soon he heard soft thumps on the staircase.
He noticed a shadow walking down the stair case and as it turned the corner Scott appeared.
"I couldn't find anything", Scott said, his tone low and tinged with disappointment.
"That's fine" Liam said.
"Cause I found it" Liam said with a smile showing off the book.
"Seriously!" Scott said, a wide smile appearing on his face.
"I heard you found the book!" Liam heard Stiles shout from the top floor.
What followed was the thuds of footsteps and the wood creaking beneath Stiles as he ran down, unable to contain his excitement.
"Where is it?!" Stiles asked as he appeared right besides Scott.
"Right here" Liam said waving the book for Stiles to see.
"Let me see it!" He said with his voice almost bursting with excitement, he quickly rushed down the stairs as he practically dove for the book.
Arriving close to Liam, Stiles hand extended out.
"Let me see please" Stiles pleaded
"Calm down" he said with a chuckle "Let's first get out here" Liam said.
"Yea let's get out of here" Scott concurred, as he took a puff of his inhaler and made his way down.
"Yeah I guess you guys are right let's first get out of here" Stiles said controlling his excitement, but the smile looked as if it was plastered on his face
"Let's get out of here then" Liam said as he pushed open the front door and glanced outside.
He saw the last rays of sunlight beginning to disappear.
Liam walked out of the house while Stiles and Scott followed.
They walked at a brisk pace.
As Liam walked he got a dread full feeling.
As if he would for sure encounter a supernatural being if he was still here when the sun's rays completely disappeared, so he looked back at Stiles and Scott.
"Guys I think we need to run" Liam said.
"Hey Liam, I know it's scary and stuff but it ain't really all that" Stiles said with a bit of a rubbing his hair.
"I have a feeling, it would be for the best if we got out of here as soon as possible, Scott are you gonna be fine?" Liam asked.
"It should be too bad" Scott as he glanced at his inhaler.
"Okay then" Liam said as he began running.
--
A few minutes prior to Liam running, the moment the pulse was sent out.
Somewhere a few towns over, a lady, who lay in bed fast asleep woke up all of a sudden.
Her eyes were glowing a rich golden colour as she felt the pulse.
Her Senses kicking into overdrive.
"The Medallion is found" she murmured.
Meanwhile back in the forest.
Gripping the book, Liam began sprinting as fast as he could.
Stiles and Scott glanced at each other, they were confused as to why Liam was acting weird, but that didn't mean much currently, as they also started sprinting, following right behind Liam.
Passing the ridge, Liam did not slow down, rather he sped up.
His Special Sub-mission at this moment was marked as completed.
The boost in stats was immediate.
His speed shot up.
Feeling the excess of new power he could use.
Liam chose to control himself, if he ran with all he could, he would end up leaving Scott and Stiles too far behind.
Hearing the sound of the leaves crunching beneath his feet as he ran.
The heavy breathing came from behind him.
The cold air rushing past his face as he sprinted, Liam felt alive.
The last rays of sunlight were beginning to fade into darkness.
