"Boss, I've got news. Marvin changed his flight last minute and arrived last night. He's at the hospital now."
Early in the morning, Hyland Riley received a call from his secretary. He was still a bit groggy but instantly became alert, throwing off the covers and getting out of bed.
"Grab the proposal we prepared and meet me at the hospital entrance."
Hyland hung up and hurried to get ready, while Stella sat up in bed, displeased.
"Isn't today the weekend? Why are you working? You promised to spend the day with me."
She hadn't been feeling well lately and had been hospitalized for two weeks due to signs of a threatened miscarriage. Hyland had been by her side, helping her feel more at ease. She had planned for him to stay home today, to spend quality time together and make some keepsakes for their baby. But now, Hyland had to work.
