********
It was as if this was the last day on earth. Lightning struck as rain poured onto the ground in an unstable manner. Everywhere was dark, and nobody dared to come out.
In front of a big mansion people lay scattered as their voices echoed into the quiet night.
The cries of the people mixed with the sound of thunder and lightning, and rain. Both rich and poor knelt under the heavy rain.
A young lady stood on the 30th floor of the building, looking down at them with a smirk playing at the corner of her lips.
"Have mercy! Have mercy!" She heard their voices but instead of having mercy she was enjoying the show.
Even the cries of babies under the cold rain didn't affect her one bit. There wasn't even a trace of guilt or repression in her eyes.
"Boss, don't you think we should let the children go?" one of her subordinates asked, unable to keep her concern hidden.
"No!!" she snapped immediately. "All of them deserve death." Her voice was husky She wasn't ready to let them go. That thought hadn't even crossed her mind.
"But boss, those children did nothing wrong, so—"
Emma doesn't get to complete her statement.
"Seems like you want to join them." Luna said and Emma frozed
She immediately shut her lips. But her heart was still pounding in her chest. She couldn't believe it. She knows Luna won't hesitate to kill her.
Luna was soulless. Like an empty shell who could only kill. Calling her wicked would be an understatement.
The room suddenly burst open.
"Boss! Boss!!" a woman stormed in, gasping for air.
"Speak!" Luna ordered, not minding that she hasn't caught her breath yet. The girl could barely breathe as she spoke.
"The prophecy! The prophecy!" the woman cried, gripping the fabric on her chest as she tried to catch her breath.
"What about it?" Luna asked, narrowing her eyes.
"…It says you're going to die!" she finally blurted out.
Silence reigned for a while.
Without thinking, Luna drew her gun and fired at the woman's forehead. The woman fell on the ground as her eyes opened lifelessly.
Goosebumps crawled across Emma's skin.
Luna then screamed out.
"I won't die!! I'll erase humanity first!! I'll make sure no living creature that breathes remains on the surface of this earth!!!"
Emma stood frozen with a trembling body. She wanted to stop Luna. But how? How can she possibly stop someone who doesn't have a Saul?
"Gorge! Gorge!" Luna called out, and a young man appeared immediately bowing his head.
"Boss," he said.
"Get the men. Kill them all," she ordered and the corner of her lips pulled up into a devilishly smirk.
Gorge's eyes widened. This girl was unbelievable, he thought. But he could do nothing or he and his family will join the congregation.
The congregation was slaughtered like Christmas chickens as their cry echoed under the rain.
"Release the vaccine! Let it wipe out every supernatural being!" Luna let out an irritating laugh.
Emma stood frozen and horrified. How had Luna become this ruthless?
red liquid was all over the ground. These people cried for mercy knowing fully well that they'll still die. Babies cried more but Luna's brown eyes remained cold.
They were killed one by one until the cries faded eventually. Even babies weren't spared. The rain stopped but the lighting didn't.
Luna went down and saw everywhere covered in red liquid.
"Still too many humans left," she muttered. "I'll fix that."
Gorge returned, panting. "The vaccine is ready, boss."
"Then what are you waiting for?" she snapped. "Pollute the air. And release the poisonous gas I made in the lab. Let it kill them all."
Gorge just nodded and left.
"Emma! What are you doing? Get some men the dispose the bodies"
And with that, she turned and stepped back into the mansion. They went into the underground and a big double door led to the dungeon. She pushes the door open and it cracks like it hasn't been opened in centuries.
She entered immediately and in the middle of the room was a black big hole. She jumped in and landed with ease.
she began moving deeper and the place was black with no single light. She brought out her phone and flashed her light. She kept moving and there were many cells made of thick irons that were stained with black blood. And each cell has thick chains. There was a girl inside one of the cells, bound with chains and drenched in red blood. As soon as she saw Luna tears brimmed down her cheeks.
"...Please! Please! Spare me!" the girl pleaded
"Spare you? Why? You deserve death," Luna spat.
The girl cried more. She couldn't believe she was going to die this way. What was worse was that she was going to die at the hands of her best friend. The both of them had grown up together—shared secrets and had many dreams for their future. But now...
She couldn't understand what happened to Luna that she became like this.
"You were the one who betrayed me first," Luna said as her low voice echoed inside the quiet dungeon.
"And the price to pay for that is nothing but death."
"You think you'll succeed?" Evan retorted back with a Shakey voice.
"Bad people never succeed! They always end up dying, and I assure you, Luna Winters—you're no exception!"
"Shut up!" Luna snapped, stepping forward as she wraps her hands around the cold iron bars.
"I'll kill you," she said, tightening her hands even more until her knuckles were white.
"And you'll go down too, Luna! Your stupid plan won't work!!" Evan said. Never in her life had she expected this day to come. If she had known earlier she would've killed Luna herself.
"Really?" Luna tilted her head. "Are you a hundred percent sure? Because… it already began."
Evan froze and even the air around her became hot and she couldn't breathe it in.
"What… what do you mean?" she asked in a low tone.
"Everyone will die," Luna joyfully said "Including you, Evan." She added.
"And you too, Luna!" Evan screamed, boiling with rage.
"Just make sure—make sure that I don't get out of here alive," Evan said. "Because if I do… you're dead!"
"Noted," Luna replied and with that , she left the dungeon.
As soon as she stepped the next thing she heard was—
"Boss! Boss! Boss!!" one of her male subordinates cried to her in panick
And soon, the main double doors of the mansion shaked rapidly like it was being kicked from outside. She knew instantly that it was a vampire. The door fell to the ground.
A young man stepped out exuding a dark aura. He had charming black hair that shimmered slightly under the chandelier light, and sharp gray eyes that now burned gold with fury. His long, supernatural nails were as Sharp as blade and his sharp canines were long.
"Luna!! You evil creature!" he said with rage and without another word, he aimed his sword at her. She staggered back and dropped to the floor in death.
*********
"Nonsense!" a girl reading the novel snapped, slamming the book shut with a frustrated grunt.
"How could she die?? This doesn't make sense! Who wrote such nonsense?" This was the twentieth time she was reading the novel, but still—always the same ending. Every day, she glanced at her phone with high hopes that the author's name would appear but still nothing.
"Luna!! Why be heartless?" she cried, her voice creaky as she threw her phone on the ground and it immediately scattered due to the impact she used.
"What is going on? Do you think I'll buy you another phone?" a woman with blonde hair stepped into the room.
"Why do you speak as if you were the one who got the first one?" Luna asked, taken aback by the word 'again'.
Luna hated this woman with a passion. She had lived in hell, tortured by the very people she was supposed to call her family. Even her siblings treated her like trash.
She has suffered child maltreatment from her family being called the black sheep of the family. Even at school it was still the same. Everyone treated her like she didn't belong to earth. She was just a fifteen years old who just finished high school working two part-time jobs to be able to survive. Her mother and father don't give a damn if she dies or lives. She just wants to escape this future and have freedom and peace. But that was just a wish.
The only thing she could do was read and pour her sorrow in. Hoping one day all the waves of life will be in the past. She just found this book not too long ago and what inspired her to read more was the fact that she and the mc in the book have exactly the same name which was Lauderdale.
Now, she's gotten used to the tuture by everyone and all she could do is to find a way to run.
"You've lost every single respect in my eyes, so don't expect me to be nice," Luna said to her mother.
She was no longer two years old and was no longer scared of the punishment.
"Do what you want!" the woman said, exiting through the main door.
"Yeah! Of course!" Luna shouted as her blood boiled with anger.
She strode to the kitchen and turned on the gas cooker. But she was too frustrated to cook, so she returned to the sitting room, throwing herself onto the couch. Within minutes, she drifted into sleep.
********
When she woke up, a cold liquid was trickling over her body. Blinking her eyes open, she realized she was in a bathtub.
Her eyes flew open wider. If she remembered correctly, she had fallen asleep on the couch, right?
But it wasn't the bathtub that caught her attention—it was its breathtaking beauty.
this place was definitely not her home. She wasn't allowed to use things as good as this.
Glancing up, she gasped.
At the door stood a breathtaking figure—a goddess with black hair and enchanting gray eyes that could leave any girl spellbound.
'Did someone this beautiful actually exist?' she thought to herself.
And as if his face wasn't enough to make her toes curl, his abs were…
'Damn!!' she thought, taking a better look. Broad chest, slim waist, broad shoulders and…
'Hell no!!' Was he standing naked??
She quickly averted her gaze and looked down at herself.
'Am I also naked?' She wanted to scream, but she held it in.
When she looked up again, his face was suddenly inches from hers. His piercing gray eyes made it impossible for her to look away.
And then, she screamed.
"Ahhh!!!!!"
He stepped back, slightly taken aback by her sudden behavior.
"Scared already?" he mumbled. "Aren't you the one who wants this? Can't handle it?" His tone was mocking as he chuckled slowly.
"W...who are you?" she mustered the courage to ask.
His beautiful gray eyes flickered with surprise.
"Who am I? Did you lose your memory or something? I'm Ezekiel Elliott," he said, shaking his head in disbelief.
'She must be crazy,' he thought to himself as he walked boldly out of the bathroom.
She immediately stood up, grabbing the nearest towel she could find, and rushed to the mirror. What she saw made her gasp in wonder.
Brown eyes, long black tamed hair, and slender skin.
"This is not me!!" It was her, yes, but she had always lived a life of suffering. There was no way she could have tamed her body and skin to look this beautiful.
Suddenly, she remembered the novel.
"No, no, no!! It can't be!" She touched her cheeks, her fingers gently brushing over the softness of her skin.
"Didn't he say he's Ezekiel? Wait... what? Did my soul transfer into Luna's body?"
"Boss, he's gone," Emma said from outside the bathroom.
'Boss? Wait, isn't that what they usually called Luna in the book? Am I really her now...?'
"Ahhhh!!!" She screamed, running her fingers harshly through her hair.
