Chapter 94 - Chapter 92: Sentience

Huo Yuhao's unique "shortcut" forging technique was so specialized that not even a Title Douluo could easily learn it.

"Nope. I don't think I can manage forging like that at all. Unlike you, Xiao Huo, I don't have that kind of talent. For someone like me, it would take endless, repetitive practice—and I'd go mad from the tedium."

Team Leader Wang glanced down at the piece of Thousand-Forged Blacksteel he'd received from Huo Yuhao and compared it to the one he had just seen. Sure enough, they were exactly the same.

"Team Leader Wang, keep this. Didn't you say you had some ideas about building the type of mecha I mentioned?"

Wang nodded without hesitation and accepted the piece of Thousand-Forged Blackgold. Indeed, he already had a rough concept forming in his mind.

"How about this then, Xiao Huo? You provide me with the forged metals, and I'll build you a custom mecha. Treat it like a prototype. Sound good?"

Huo Yuhao's eyes lit up.

"Perfect. Deal."

The two headed to a design room within the humanoid soul tool research sector of Mingde Hall.

They sat at a table while Wang pulled out a large blank schematic sheet and various drafting tools, spreading them across the desk.

"Xiao Huo, you've got twin martial souls, right?"

Huo Yuhao nodded.

"Yeah. My first is a spiritual-type, the Spirit Eye. The second is the Ultimate Ice-type—Ice Jade Scorpion."

"Impressive. If I remember correctly, only Elder Kong has twin martial souls in the entire Sun Moon Empire."

Wang clicked his tongue in admiration as he rested his chin on one hand, spinning a pencil with the other.

"A spiritual-type and an ice-type, huh... Designing a mecha that accounts for both might be tricky. What do you think?"

Huo Yuhao thought for a moment. His spiritual abilities didn't seem to need much amplification.

"Let's go with an ice-specialized mecha, Team Leader Wang."

From there, they began discussing how his ice-based skills could be integrated with the mecha—what types of weapons it should include, system enhancements, and so on.

Two hours later, Wang completed the blueprint for Huo Yuhao's personalized mecha.

"What do you think, Xiao Huo? Will it do?"

Huo Yuhao studied the three-square-meter schematic carefully, nodding repeatedly. As expected of one of the top-tier eighth-ranked soul engineers in Mingde Hall, Wang's only real obstacle to reaching rank nine was likely cultivation.

"I'm really looking forward to seeing it completed, Team Leader Wang."

"I'm confident I can finish the mecha in two days. Here's a list of metallic properties we'll need that regular metals can't meet. Xiao Huo, do you think it's achievable with forged metals?"

Huo Yuhao took the list and examined it carefully before nodding with certainty.

"Give me three days. I should be able to forge everything you need by then."

And just like that, the two parted ways, fully committed to their respective tasks. Huo Yuhao's intense three-day forging marathon began.

He was genuinely excited about the creation of this mecha. If he could wear it in future battles, even if it wouldn't match the power of Soul Armor from ten thousand years in the future, the boost in combat power would still be substantial.

Five Days Later – Mingde Hall, Soul Tool Production Sector, Humanoid Soul Tool Workshop

The moment Huo Yuhao's custom mecha was completed, Team Leader Wang contacted him immediately through a soul communicator. Huo Yuhao, filled with anticipation, left his ongoing civilian soul tool project and rushed over.

He arrived to find Wang smiling mysteriously.

"Team Leader Wang—how is it?"

"Heh. Better than expected, honestly. The forged metals you made are unbelievable. They've allowed us to do things impossible with regular metals."

As he spoke, Wang led Huo Yuhao into the mecha production facility. The moment Huo Yuhao stepped in, his eyes locked onto the machine.

"This is your mecha. Looks good on the outside, right?"

Huo Yuhao nodded, almost in a daze. Crystalline blue, mixed with black and gray metallic hues. Its humanoid form radiated mechanical beauty and a sharp, lethal aura.

It was exactly how he'd imagined his ideal mecha.

But what truly surprised him was that the mecha didn't feel lifeless—it felt... alive. It was hard to describe, but it felt like a second version of himself.

As he stepped closer, he noticed that the icy-blue crystal sections of the mecha glowed brighter. And when he got within five meters, the mecha's rectangular eye panel suddenly lit up with a bright blue glow.

"This is..."

"Since this mecha was made using the forged metals you personally created, it seems to have formed a certain... resonance with you. As for how deep that sentience goes, I couldn't say. Xiao Huo, try focusing your mind. See if you can communicate with it."

Huo Yuhao nodded, closed his eyes, and focused his spiritual power toward the mecha.

A few seconds later, the metallic components of the mecha began to tremble, emitting a crisp, glass-like clinking sound.

Huo Yuhao sensed the mecha calling to him—urging him to take control.

With a leap, he soared into the air. At the same time, the mecha's limbs—arms, legs, torso, and head—liquefied at their connection points and separated. Each metallic segment flew toward him, assembling around his body in midair.

Bit by bit, the mecha built itself around him.

It was like watching Iron Man suit up—right before the era of nanotech.

Watching this unfold, Team Leader Wang was stunned.

'This mecha's sentience... isn't this a bit much?'

From the moment Huo Yuhao jumped to when the mecha was fully assembled around him, only three seconds had passed.

Normally, even Living Thousand-Forged Metal couldn't produce this level of intelligent synchronization with its user. Only Spirit-Forged or Soul-Forged metals—crafted by their intended wielder—could come close.

But Huo Yuhao's forged metals were different. Infused with his power of Creation, and born under the very laws of the world, they possessed far greater sentience than ordinary spiritual alloys.

Huo Yuhao was essentially the creator of this mecha. And as its "child," the mecha naturally responded to its creator with perfect, effortless harmony.
