Chapter 93 - Chapter 91: Forged Metal

"Take a look at this, Team Leader Wang."

Huo Yuhao pulled out a piece of Thousand-Forged Blacksteel he had personally crafted.

For someone who possessed the power of Creation, forging metals wasn't particularly difficult for Huo Yuhao. What it did require was relentless, repetitive hammering day after day. Frankly, he wasn't fond of the job.

Wang narrowed his eyes and took the piece of Thousand-Forged Blacksteel, examining it closely.

"Blacksteel, huh? That's the primary metal used in crafting powered armor and mecha... wait a second."

After feeling it for a while, Wang frowned. Blacksteel was known for its exceptional hardness and malleability, making it ideal for armor casings due to its high durability and shock resistance. But what he felt in his hands now didn't match that.

This piece felt... flexible on the inside, but rigid on the surface.

Curious, Wang injected some soul power into it—and sure enough, under his intent, the Blacksteel softened into a floating liquid-like state, morphing freely into various shapes before re-solidifying into its original sturdy form.

"This is..."

"Team Leader Wang, this is a Thousand-Forged Blacksteel alloy I created by combining Blacksteel with several rare flexible metals. If we use this as the core material for mecha, we can vastly improve their flexibility and make it easier for soul masters and engineers to enter and exit their suits."

"This is a kind of forged metal that we soul engineers have long overlooked."

To be honest, Huo Yuhao had always wondered why something like forged metal only became popularized ten thousand years in the future. Why had no one touched it in the present?

'Just another one of those holes in the setting, I guess.' He could only accept that the threshold for forging metal was simply too high. And perhaps, in the current Douluo Continent—still under the restrictions of the God Realm—the dimensional tier of the world made forging metal that much harder.

In fact, aside from Huo Yuhao—who possessed the power of Creation—it was probably nearly impossible for anyone else to forge metals with any degree of success in this era.

Huo Yuhao proceeded to take out several more types of forged metals and laid them out for Team Leader Wang to examine.

After going through them all, Wang seemed a bit dazed.

"Xiao Huo... the idea of turning mecha into personal, powerful combat tools to support soul masters and engineers... with all these different functional forged metals, customized to fit each person's martial soul... it might really work."

Huo Yuhao shrugged.

"As long as you've got the vision to develop them, that's enough. I'm afraid all I can do is forge the metals for you."

He was being honest. As someone who grew up with a scientific worldview, this kind of fantasy-level crafting process still left him baffled.

"Xiao Huo, do you mind if I try forging metal myself? The only real problem now is that too few people can forge this stuff."

"Go ahead."

Huo Yuhao led Wang to a forging station in the workshop.

"Let me show you how to forge this Thousand-Forged Blacksteel alloy."

From his storage soul tool, he retrieved a large chunk of Blacksteel and several smaller pieces of rare metals, laying them on the table.

Then he pulled out a soul tool of his own design—a specially crafted alloy forging hammer. Taking a deep breath, he lifted the hammer and slammed it down onto the Blacksteel with a crisp clang.

The sight left Wang momentarily stunned.

'Forging... is just banging metal with a hammer?'

That's what Huo Yuhao had thought, too, the first time he tried it.

While not entirely wrong, the truth was that proper forging still required precision. Even just striking the core metal required soul power infusion to properly temper it.

After several hundred hammer strikes, the Blacksteel began to emit a faint silvery glow—proof that the Hundred-Forging process had succeeded.

Now came the critical step.

Huo Yuhao paused and swept his hand, causing the other metals to rise and float above the Blacksteel. Then, pouring soul power through his body, he resumed hammering—this time to fuse the metals into an alloy.

Strike after strike, he worked steadily. He was getting closer and closer to the thousandth blow—the key to achieving Thousand-Forged alloy.

By the final few strikes, sweat was pouring down his face. This final stage was especially important. He wasn't just creating Thousand-Forged alloy—he was attempting Living Thousand-Forged Metal, a material that could only be achieved when different fused metals resonated with spiritual qualities.

In truth, the current world's thin spiritual energy made this process almost impossible. Without external aid, Huo Yuhao's odds of success were about one in ten.

But Huo Yuhao had a cheat code.

He calmed his mind, closing his eyes, and activated the forces within his body—Destruction and Life.

Green light—the power of Life—gathered in his right hand and flowed down into the hammer.

Meanwhile, violet light—the power of Destruction—formed in his left palm. He drew it into a sphere and guided it toward the green light collecting at the hammer's head.

Then, with a sharp push, the two forces merged.

In the main Douluo plane, the power of Creation was extremely rare. Usually, when Destruction and Life came together, only a sliver of Creation could be formed.

Under Huo Yuhao's full concentration, that sliver of golden creation energy finally appeared within the merged aura of Destruction and Life.

'That's enough.'

Dispersing the elemental forces, Huo Yuhao raised the hammer—now glowing faintly gold—and brought it down hard onto the nearly-formed alloy.

With a thunderous boom that seemed to shake the heavens, a dazzling rainbow glow erupted from the alloy.

As the light faded, what was left behind was unmistakable—Living Thousand-Forged Metal.

Huo Yuhao looked at the fading rainbow with some regret.

'If only my cultivation and control over Creation were higher... I could have attempted forging Heavenly-Forged Metal right here on the current Douluo Continent.'

'One day. I will.'

Wiping away sweat, he put away his forging hammer and handed the finished alloy to Team Leader Wang.

"So, Team Leader Wang—did you learn it?"

Wang: Totally overwhelmed.

Silently, Wang took the Thousand-Forged Blacksteel alloy. He could clearly sense it—in those final moments, Huo Yuhao had briefly touched on the laws of the world itself. Even with his cultivation as an eight-ring Soul Douluo, he could feel the faint presence of those laws in the alloy's multicolored glow.

It was those laws that had forced this incredibly rare spiritual alloy to take shape—against all odds.
