In the blink of an eye, Kranos appeared on the edge of a blood-soaked clearing… An eerie river of crimson stretched endlessly through the forest. The air was thick with a coppery stench, and crimson mist curled at his feet like the breath of some slumbering beast.
He scanned the battlefield.
Dozens of grotesque creatures swarmed across the open terrain, each more monstrous than the last. One had a scorpion's tail and the upper body of a man with skin like obsidian stone, its face twisted into a permanent snarl.
