Chapter 12 - Stepping into the Dungeon

The Tower of Babel, the main center piece here in Oarario, a massive tower that stands over fifty stories tall making it easily visible for miles away.

The other upper floors were shops that Adventurers would browse in order to buy the equipment and supplies that they need before entering the dungeon.

Though only top of the line blacksmiths would be able to have shops here in the Tower proper with the best blacksmith being Hephaestus, the god of smithing, who I learned was actually a Goddess in this world surprisingly.

Her familia had only been around for five years from what I heard but she quickly gathered most of the best and brightest smiths in the city under her banner and joining her Familia as a result.

It was good for them because becoming adventurers and leveling up made it easier to forge stronger and better weapons, but that's something I'd never have to worry about with all of my weapons having the Durandal status on them and thus won't ever break in combat.

However all my weapons, at least from the perspective of the Warframe Universe, were low grade beginner weapons.

The MK1 Paris, a beginners short bow that is deadly with precision shots, however has low stopping power as heavy armor would make the bow itself useless in most situations with heavily armored enemies.

The Ballistica, a charge shot sidearm crossbow makes up for the MK1 Paris lack in penetration damage when fully charged with each shot having good penetrating power, or I can rapid fire the bolts and deal with multiple enemies at once.

And finally my Skana, the Warframe universes future version of a Shashka, a Russian saber with no guard to it, it's a basic level weapon but it's good for a beginner level weapon.

These weapons should be fine for the upper floors and not be any issue in using for combat, however they have low damage in the Warframe world and as such I don't think the weapons will be great later on so I need to get more resources in order to make better equipment.

'Sucks I have no access to any guns, then again since guns don't exist and the closest things they have are cannons from what I saw up on the city walls that can still be a threat to people even up to level three then guns, unless are heavy caliber, would be useless for tougher monsters and adventurers at that.' I couldn't help but think as we arrived in the main lobby of the guild.

There were plenty of people moving about the lobby, some were talking to guild employees, others were checking their gear, some were looking at requests for items from the dungeon and the rest were heading into the dungeon proper.

There was no fanfare or anything like that when I came into the guild lobby, they saw Finn first and foremost and paid him attention as he was a relatively high level adventurer, though compared to the top brass of both the Hera and Zeus Familias he would be barely considered a mid-class adventurer in either familia.

But he was the leader of one of the four top Familia's in all of Orario so while he wasn't on the level of people like Hera's Famila's leader known only as the 'Empress' or Zeuses Famila leader Maxim both being Level 9 and Level 8 respectively, they are strongest adventurers in all of Orario.

"Ahh Captain Finn, it's rare to see you outside the times you travel with your familia into the depths, and who's this? A new Familia member I presume?" An older man with greying hair and dog ears, most likely a werewolf, said to us as we approached his counter.

"Walter, yes your correct this is our newest familia member, I brought him here to get him properly registered as an adventurer so we can get him into the dungeon proper." Finn went onto explain.

"I see, well the weapons you have on you should do you just drone from the looks of it, well made too, though the armor is…. Unfamiliar, but I can at least tell it's sturdy, alright just sign these documents here and you will officially be recognized as an adventurer." Walter said before pushing some documents towards me along with a feather pen and inkwell.

Luckily for me I could understand the written language of this world, probably because 'He'(Man in the Wall/The Indifference/Wally) made it so I could read their language perfectly fine along with the fact that they speak English, though that could also be a manipulation of his but it doesn't really matter.

So I wrote down my name, race(human for obvious reasons), age(surprisingly I'm only 13 right now), and my level before I was done.

'Good thing they didn't ask about skills and the like, don't know how I could explain that.' I thought before putting the pen back in the well as Water took the paperwork.

"Seems everything is in order, welcome Hayden, I hope your future adventures are fruitful and long lasting, I would offer one of our guild members to be your guild attendant to give you the run down on the dungeon and other various things, but it appears your Captain has that handled." He said to which Finn nodded with a smile on his face.

"Don't worry Walter, Hayden here is bound to be a future pillar of our Familia! I can guarantee it." He said making Walter smile slightly.

"Then good luck out there kid, and…. Try not to get yourself killed." He said before sighing, shaking his head, and walking away, clearly he's seen many people become adventurers in his time here and many not living that long as a result.

I turn to look at Finn, "Well that would have been unnerving if I was anyone else, now let's go Captain, I'd like to see how far I can actually go in my frame." I said to him before beginning to walk out of the guild.

Finn shook his head, but the smile couldn't leave his lips, 'This kids cocky, but with his skills and powers I'd be too, I wouldn't be surprised if nothing but the Monster Rex Goliath could halt his progress.' He thought to himself as he followed after his newest Familia member.

Not long after we arrived at the main floor of the Tower of Babel along with the guarded entrance to the dungeon where countless adventurers descended into to begin their dungeon dive.

Seeing Finn none of the guards blocked the way, especially since they were notified of an a new adventurer who was with him to enter the dungeon.

And so both me and Finn began our descent into the Dungeon proper as I clenched my fist as my body, which was still back at the manor, grinned as I thought internally.

'Let the grind begin!'
