Over twenty years before the war with the zombies...
In a speech, Octavius vowed to unify the continent under their flag.
As preparations, both of the brothers made more weapons of mass destruction for Stribora.
It was a long and bloody conflict. Many soldiers and civilians died.
During their first missions, Marcus and Hubert rescued the victims of war and befriended one of them, General Bobby. Their involvement turned the tides in the war, and they would guarantee victory for Stribora.
Striborans faced people with different backgrounds. Some were born in the plains, some were from the snow, and some were from the forests. No matter where they came from or their technology, the striborans slaughtered them all.
General Bobby led them to countless victories.
At the final battle, the remaining lands and rulers joined forces and united against Stribora. The two sides clashed on the battlefield, and the fighting raged on for days.
As a spectacle, Marcus, Hubert, and General Bobby were the last ones standing in a battle of most epic proportions of the continent's written history. They claimed victory and planted Stribora's flag in the ruined battlefield.
However, when they gazed at the disastrous battlefield, the two twins realized the devastation their weapons had caused.
As he saw severed and burned limbs of his comrades and enemies, Marcus felt intense regret. He solemnly commented that all the deaths were caused by their research. He continued that energy was supposed to improve lives. He muttered that they lost themselves.
Hubert was saddened, and he agreed that they failed to change the world for the better. He wondered what they would do now.
General Bobby let go of the flag and panted. He asserted that the world would be better now that the war was over. He insisted that the world was unified, and there would be no more war between humanity, thanks to their help.
Hubert and Marcus looked at General Bobby.
Was peace that simple?
As the twins' eyes watered, Marcus confessed that he was not sure if he was right.
General Bobby hugged his good friends. He thanked them, and the two twins teared up. They hugged General Bobby back, and General Bobby smiled at them.
Stribora had conquered and unified the continent under their flag just as Octavius vowed.
With their momentous victory, General Bobby, Marcus, and Hubert became known as the Three Legendary Heroes. Their stories spread, and they quickly became celebrities.
General Bobby was appointed as the top general of the Striboran Military for his strategies.
Marcus and Hubert were offered positions in the government, but they denied. After seeing the destruction of their creations, they refused to be subservient to the Striboran government.
Marcus left the military to never return. Due to the continuous harassment from the military and the public, he went into hiding in The Sacred Forest.
No one in Stribora knew what happened to him.
Even though he left his old life, Marcus realized that he still had a passion in welding when he discovered the original elemental weapons. In the secret rooms of a few ruins, he found them and collected them to make replicas.
Later, Marcus received news that Hubert was getting married. He went to the wedding and returned to the public eye when he appeared.
At the wedding, he met his future sister-in-law, Julia.
Julia bowed and introduced herself. She smiled and thanked him for coming. Her silver hair blended with her wedding dress.
Marcus returned the bow and asserted that it was no problem. He reunited with Hubert, and he was happy for his twin. He learned that Hubert focused on his research in a new organization.
Hubert seemed the happiest since they were newbies, barely hired by Dr. Charles.
During the wedding, Marcus gazed around and noticed the media. He felt the public eye on him as though they wanted his engineering abilities back. Feeling ashamed, he went back into hiding, afterwards.
While his brother had a family, he stayed fulfilling his desires, welding replicas of the original elemental weapons, in The Sacred Forest.
