Seram's grin faded a little, replaced by something more subdued, more thoughtful.
He gave a nod, then looked back toward the still-smoking simulation dome, as if trying to replay what had just happened in his head.
"Alright.." he said. "I'll finish up here."
Silke gave him a small nod in return and disappeared through the yard's side exit, his coat flaring behind him in the morning breeze.
Kyren watched the exchange in silence, his arms crossed. When the door clicked shut behind Silke, he looked back at Seram.
"You two really going for it?" he asked, casually.
Seram wiped the sweat from his face with the hem of his shirt. "That obvious?"
Kyren gave a noncommittal shrug. "Not really. But you used to get bored halfway through drills. Now you actually finish them."
Seram chuckled. "He wouldn't let me live it down if I slacked."
