"Hiss! Is that a berserker?!"
"No, this is way beyond berserker—this is a super berserker!"
"She's like a crazy yandere!"
"Hey! Are there any normal people left in the Seireitei?!"
Nanaya frowned as he looked at Kyoraku Shunsui.
Shunsui's face twitched. He turned to Nanaya with clenched teeth and muttered, "Everything was fine before you showed up."
"Well, that's kind of the problem. The attack just happened to start now…"
"Don't talk nonsense! Captain Unohana's madness was cured hundreds of years ago—and now you've triggered it again!"
"But I didn't do anything! I just learned a few thousand sword techniques!"
"That's exactly what triggered it!"
Suddenly, Unohana Retsu appeared, eyes burning with excitement.
"Enough talking, Nanaya-kun—duel me!!"
She swung her sword with deadly enthusiasm. Blood covered her blade, forming a river of crimson energy that surged toward him like a wave.
Nanaya didn't bother arguing with Shunsui anymore. He simply blinked and whispered:
"Hollow."
In an instant, his body vanished into Kamui space.
When Shunsui felt Nanaya's spiritual pressure disappear, he nearly coughed up blood in frustration.
"This damn move again…"
Just then, Jūshirō Ukitake—who Shunsui was carrying—coughed weakly and began chanting:
"All waves, become my shield!""All lightning, become my blade!""Sōgyo no Kotowari!"
Reiatsu flared around him. His sword split in two, forming his signature twin blades.
He held the left blade behind him, absorbing the blood energy rushing toward them. Then, with the right blade, he slashed forward.
The spiritual energy transformed into sword pressure and cut through the bloody attack.
The crimson blade faded away, but Ukitake's condition worsened. He clutched his mouth, coughing hard.
"Jūshirō, you're not well. Stop fighting," Shunsui said urgently.
Though Ukitake was a Captain, his health had always been fragile. He often coughed up blood and couldn't fight for long periods.
…
As they ran, they eventually came face-to-face with Aizen Sōsuke and Tousen Kaname.
Tousen stood protectively in front of Aizen, looking serious.
Nanaya's eyes narrowed for a moment, but he didn't attack. Instead, he calmly walked past them.
At this point in time, Aizen was still seen as a "good guy." Attacking him now would just turn everyone in the Seireitei against Nanaya.
Meanwhile, Aizen adjusted his glasses and walked toward Tousen with a calm smile.
Seeing Unohana approaching, he spoke politely:
"Captain Unohana Retsu, please calm down. We've already located the intruder. It's only a matter of time before we capture him…"
Before he could finish, Unohana—who had been ignoring him until now—suddenly turned to Aizen with cold, deadly eyes.
"You want to capture Nanaya-kun?" she said, her voice ice cold.
Aizen was stunned. He didn't know about Unohana's violent past—he hadn't taken over Central 46 yet.
"Die."
Without hesitation, Unohana raised her sword and attacked.
Tousen's face turned pale. He knew better than anyone just how terrifying that slash was.
"Captain Aizen—!"
"It's fine." Aizen's voice remained calm, but he moved quickly.
He drew his sword and activated its Shikai:
"Shatter, Kyōka Suigetsu!"
As the words left his mouth, everything around them shifted—subtle, like a flicker of light.
Now under the illusion of his sword's ability, Aizen stepped forward to clash with Unohana's furious strike.
"Boom!!!"
Aizen Sōsuke shot backward like a cannonball, smashing through walls and buildings with a loud crash.
"Captain Aizen!"
Tousen Kaname rushed over in a panic.
"I'm fine… not hurt…" Aizen slowly climbed out from the rubble. He was covered in dust, and his usually elegant appearance was completely ruined.
His glasses were cracked all over, looking like he'd just been beaten up by a gang.
He looked toward the distant figure covered in blood.
"Captain Unohana Retsu…"
For the first time in a hundred years, Aizen's calm and collected face changed.
"So the rumors were true. She really is the most terrifying person in Soul Society's history…"
He only meant to test her—he didn't expect to get sent flying instead.
"Captain Aizen, what do we do now?" Tousen asked nervously, eyes on Unohana.
This wasn't part of their plan. No one had expected Unohana to suddenly go berserk.
Aizen reached up to adjust his glasses, only to realize the frame was broken in half during the fight. His eye twitched slightly.
"…Let's get out of here."
Even Aizen didn't want to fight Unohana right now.
And so…
Two more people joined the running group.
Watching the messy, beat-up Aizen, Nanaya felt deeply satisfied.
"Serves you right. See how it feels to mess with a sword-crazy maniac."
"Captain Kyoraku! Captain Ukitake! Captain Aizen! Captain Tousen! And… Nanaya! What's going on with all of you?!"
Inside the 10th Division's barracks, Hitsugaya Tōshirō looked stunned as a whole group of captains burst into his courtyard.
He was completely lost.
Why is even Nanaya running with them? Is this some new kind of exercise in Seireitei?
Kyoraku didn't slow down.
"Captain Hitsugaya, come on! Run! Unohana Retsu's gone insane—we're heading to the Head Captain!"
"What!?"
Hitsugaya looked past them—and his eyes widened.
"Captain Unohana?!"
The usually calm and gentle 4th Division Captain now looked like a demon soaked in blood, chasing them through a cloud of crimson.
"Nanaya… that slash earlier wasn't good enough," she muttered with twisted joy. "If I were you, I would've angled the blade slightly more to make it sharper… only then could it hurt me…"
Her obsession made Hitsugaya's skin crawl.
Without hesitation, he stepped back—
—and shut the door.
The rest of the group:
"…Well, guess we're still running."
They turned and kept heading toward the 1st Division.
Kyoraku and Ukitake were beyond stressed.
Aizen was even worse—his broken glasses couldn't hide the icy glint in his eyes as he stared at Nanaya's back.
"This human… he's ruining my plans…"
Nanaya seemed to notice and turned with a bright smile.
"Captain? Something wrong?"
The cold look in Aizen's eyes vanished. He smiled politely.
"Nothing. I was just thinking—you're incredibly talented."
"Really?" Nanaya beamed even more.
Heh. I love seeing you this annoyed.
Unlike the others, Nanaya's speed far outmatched Unohana's. He could've easily escaped long ago…
…but watching this chaos was just too fun.
"ABU! ABU! ABU…"
Several blood-red waves of sword energy flew toward them from behind.
As the captains blocked them with their swords, a loud, excited voice rang out.
"A runaway soul… and Unohana Retsu?"
"Hahaha! I never realized that woman was this powerful! She's been hiding it well!"
It was Zaraki Kenpachi.
Standing on the ruins of a wall, with Yachiru perched on his back, his wild eyes darted between Nanaya and Unohana.
He looked like he couldn't decide which one to fight first.
But decision-making wasn't really Zaraki's thing.
After two seconds of thinking, he grinned like a madman, drew his chipped Zanpakutō, and yelled:
"Forget it—I'll take on both!"
"Boom!"
Golden spiritual energy exploded into the sky.
Nanaya and the others were forced to stop.
Yachiru jumped off his back, cheerful as ever.
"Ken-chan's so happy when there are lots of strong people to fight!"
"Of course!" Zaraki roared, eyes blazing.
He rushed straight at Nanaya, shouting:
"Move aside! This one's mine!"
In a flash, he was right in front of Nanaya, laughing like a lunatic, as he slashed down hard toward Nanaya's shoulder.
"Let's fight together!"
