Chapter 58: The First Man to Set Foot on Paradise Island
Allen swam aimlessly, gradually drifting away from the battleground of the Trench Tribe.
When he finally turned back, he realized his companions were nowhere in sight, so he had no choice but to swim forward with all his might.
Blub, blub, blub…
"Human turbo boost!"
Bubbles rose to the surface as Allen accelerated his doggy paddle with satisfaction.
Thud!
A dull thump sounded.
Allen's face smacked against an invisible wall, flattening his features.
"Holy crab, I've hit the edge of the map—I ran straight into an air wall."
He reached out and touched the air before him. It was as if an invisible glass barrier separated him from the rest of the world.
"The human-shaped seed dispenser put a magic barrier around his harem, constantly cheating while fearing he'd be cheated on. So stingy."
Allen licked the air wall, smacking his lips to taste it. He then tried to bite through it.
"Damn, it's so smooth—I can't get a grip."
When Zeus created Paradise Island, he set up a magical barrier not only to isolate it from the outside world but also to grant the Amazons eternal youth.
Of course, if they left Paradise Island (Themyscira), they would lose this magical protection and age over time.
However, as a god-blessed race, Amazons already had lifespans several times that of ordinary humans.
Diana, being an exception with both Zeus' divine bloodline and the Amazon queen's lineage, could live nearly ten thousand years even outside the island.
Knock, knock, knock…
Allen tapped on the air wall and called out, "Mother-in-law, open the door! I'm the princess's consort!"
He waited for a while—no response.
Allen lifted his head toward the sky and shouted angrily, "Stupid author, open a new map for me right now, or I'll drink seawater until I explode!"
Then, he looked at the Redemption Blade in his right hand and suddenly lit up with excitement.
"Little Righty, are you suggesting I carve out an entrance with the dagger?"
"Carve through the 'wall' to steal some light…"
"Hehehe… Little Righty, you're so naughty."
Allen grinned mischievously at his right hand before thrusting the dagger into the air wall.
Rip!
"What a suggestive sound."
Allen waggled his eyebrows playfully but didn't stop moving.
With a sharp tear, the barrier split open like fabric, revealing a glimpse of a majestic island beyond—a towering paradise hidden within.
Meanwhile, Inside Paradise Island…
"Your Majesty! The warning array has reacted—someone is tampering with the barrier!"
Upon hearing the Amazon warrior's report, Queen Hippolyta immediately rose from her throne.
She feared an attack from Atlantis. If the barrier was breached, the Amazons would be at a disadvantage.
Surrounded by the sea on all sides, Paradise Island could only fight defensively; launching an offensive was impossible.
Blame it on the promiscuous king of gods—when designing his warriors, he forgot to include naval combat capabilities.
"Deploy the army for a thorough inspection! We must not let the enemy gain an advantage!"
"Understood, Your Majesty!"
At her command, squads of Amazon warriors mounted their warhorses and patrolled the island, while soldiers on the city walls heightened their vigilance.
With Atlantis declaring war, the Amazons had no choice but to prepare for an all-out battle.
Given their numerical disadvantage and unfavorable battlefield conditions, they had reluctantly allowed Diana to leave the island and seek Namor's help in resolving the conflict.
If war truly broke out without external intervention, Paradise Island's defeat was inevitable.
As for Zeus? He was unreliable.
According to the Old Gods' Pact, deities powerful enough to upend the world were forbidden from interfering in mortal affairs unless an apocalyptic disaster occurred.
Thus, even if Paradise Island fell, Zeus would not intervene.
Hippolyta personally rode out on her white horse—not just to boost morale but because, if war erupted, she couldn't afford to stay behind.
The sea remained eerily calm, making it unclear if the barrier had simply malfunctioned. Not a single enemy was in sight.
But considering an amphibious attack was possible, they dared not let their guard down.
"Report to the Queen—no enemies found on the western side of the island!"
"Report to the Queen—no enemies found on the eastern side of the island!"
"Report to the Queen—no enemies found on the southern side of the island!"
"Report to the Queen—no enemies found on the northern side of the island!"
"Report to the Queen—no enemies found outside the island!"
…
A moment of silence followed as everyone turned toward the fifth scout.
The Amazon warriors blinked in confusion, scrutinizing him from head to toe.
"Girls, don't stare at me like that—it's embarrassing!"
Allen responded bashfully, raising his pinky in a delicate pose.
"Who are you?"
Hippolyta's face practically had disgust written all over it.
At that moment, Allen was wearing an Amazon warrior's leather armor, with coconut shells cut in half and stuffed into his chest.
Adjusting his makeshift "assets," he pouted.
"Just because I have a little extra chest hair, you suspect I'm not a woman? That's so unfair!"
As he spoke, he squeezed the coconut shells together and flaunted them.
"Look! Isn't my cleavage impressive?"
Hiss…
This guy was seriously ill.
If he were truly an enemy, the first thing he should've done after sneaking in was hide. Instead, he strutted right into the open—dressed like that! Did he really think they were that dumb?
"Your Majesty, an intruder has landed!"
Just then, a furious Amazon warrior rushed over—wearing Allen's clothes.
She immediately recognized him. That short hair. Those coconut shells strapped to his chest. Anyone who wasn't blind could see it.
"It's him! That lunatic ambushed me, stole my clothes, put them on, and forced me to wear his!"
The warrior pointed angrily at Allen, demanding justice.
"Uh… uh… um… I didn't do it! You've got the wrong guy! I swear on my past and present lovers!"
Allen averted his gaze, raising his hands in a solemn pledge.
In all of Paradise Island's history, the first human to set foot on its shores… turned out to be a lunatic. How embarrassing.
"Lock him up. Maintain full alert."
Once Hippolyta confirmed he wasn't an Atlantean, she ordered his imprisonment for further observation.
There was no longstanding enmity between the Amazons and the land-dwelling humans, so there was no need to kill him outright.
Two muscular Amazon warriors approached and lifted Allen by his arms. As they carried him away, they curiously glanced at him.
After all, men didn't exist on Paradise Island. Seeing one up close was a novelty—naturally, they were curious about what made him different.
"Auntie, do you like younger guys?"
Allen grinned, showing his teeth.
"How do you feel about loyal, devoted men?"
He stuck out his tongue and wiggled it suggestively.
"My tongue is very flexible. I once licked a coin stuck to a wall for half an hour without it falling off. Pretty impressive, huh?"
The battle-hardened Amazon warriors had no idea what he was talking about. His words made no logical sense.
They locked him up in a cell.
Allen slumped to the floor, eyes teary.
"If there's no escaping your clutches, I can only surrender myself to your whims!"
He spread his limbs dramatically, lying flat.
"Come on, beasts! Don't hold back just because I'm a delicate flower! I'll cooperate with any position!"
BANG!
The prison door slammed shut, locked with a heavy chain.
Allen clutched the bars, reaching out toward the departing Amazon warriors with a mournful cry.
"No—!"
