Severin shivered. He couldn't help it.
What the fuck?
The monkey man had changed into something he could hardly describe. A man with a spider's lower body and human upper body.
A grin split his lips. "Interesting! Just when have I tasted a power like this? To transform me so completely? And this is a story I've never even heard before!"
He looked down, his eyes glittering like wet black stones. "I've heard all the stories from the human world. But never a story like this. And it's a real story believed and accepted by a lot of people. Who are you?"
Severin didn't like the look on the man's face. It was how he himself looked at his pawns sometimes; he didn't like that the same look was turned on him.
Instead of answering, Severin asked, "What should I call you?"
"I am known as the Weaver. But you can now call me Anansi."
Severin nodded. "Anansi it is. So, do we have a deal?"
