✿ CHAPTER 52 ✿
"What a piece of shit! I hate him now," Sofiya said as we returned to our seats.
"What's the matter, Sofiya?" Alex asked.
"Nothing's wrong, I'm fine...just lost my appetite for the ice cream." She crossed her arms over her chest.
"Maybe we can go somewhere else, then," I said
"Drink, let's go drink!" Sofiya smirked...like she wasn't mad a few seconds ago.
"Nah, I'm not in the mood for that now," I smiled.
"Come on! Just gonna have a few shots, I need to clear my head."
"Yeah, she's right, Amelia...let's go drink," Alex said as he stood up.
"I'm not in the mood for that-"
"Is it because of him? Because of that bastard-"
"Sofia, that's not it, okay? I'm tired...I'll go back first."
"You know what, fine!, I and Alexander will go drink together, right?" she looked up at Alexander with a smile.
I rolled my eyes
"I'm off, later, guys." I grabbed my bag and walked away.
"Don't forget to call me when you get home!" Sofiya shouted behind me.
"Got it!" I waved at them.
Right, how could I forget we didn't come with my car but with Alex's...I decided to walk back home, luckily it wasn't far from here.
I felt so exhausted physically and emotionally. I loved someone, but I was the one getting hurt instead, while he lived his best life. I felt so stupid falling in love with someone who couldn't reciprocate my feelings...love can't be forced.
I hugged my arms as I walked down the street, it was so quiet with few people passing by, until
"Amelia," that voice, it was him, why him again?
I turned around to find Leonard staring at me...his expression neutral...his hands tucked into his pocket. His gaze was unwavering as he looked at me, not blinking. I felt a shiver run down my spine.
I felt extremely nervous knowing his eyes were on me.
Immediately, he took a few steps towards me, his footsteps slow and calm as the leather shoe hit the rough ground.
Each step he took towards me made me retreat back slowly. He halted in his steps when he noticed me walking away.
"Don't walk away from me, Amelia."
"I choose to walk away if I want to."
"And now...I don't even want to see you."
He took his hands out of his pocket, looking at me.
"I'm sorry, Amelia...all those things I said, I'm truly sorry-"
"Sorry? You don't have to apologize to me...it was all a mistake, according to you." I felt my eyes heat up, tears threatening to fall.
"I want to explain everything to you, Amelia, just give me a chance to, please." his voice cracked slightly as he walked towards me.
I retreated immediately.
"Don't fucking come any closer!" I raised my voice...tears in my eyes.
"I never meant to hurt your feelings, Amelia! I'm sorry!"
"If I knew I was in love with you from the very beginning, I would never have pushed you away!" He raised his voice slightly
"I did it all just to protect you...But I couldn't even protect my own feelings for you!"
"I love you, but I had to-I had to"
"Because of the age gap between us? You pushed me away because of our age gap, knowing very well that we were in love the whole time!!" Tears were falling down my face like something had truly broken in me.
"Do you know how it feels to be rejected by somebody you love so much? By someone who has captured your heart in so many ways? You can never understand that feeling. You don't feel it, because you don't love me!"
"I do love you, Amelia, please just let me explain why-"
"Just like you said before, I never want to see you again, Leonard, just leave already!" I wiped my tears with the back of my hand.
He took a step towards me, but I walked back quickly.
"Don't you fucking dare!...stay away from me or I'll scream!... I swear to God I'll do it!"
He clenched his fists.
He just stood looking at me for a long time.
"I'm sorry, Amelia." With that, he turned around and left.
I panted softly as I held my chest, my heart racing...I wiped my tears so no one would know I was crying...
I hated him...God, I hated him so much, but I still loved him.
I could see the way he clenched his fists, trying all his best to control his emotions, but I could barely control mine.
I quickly walked back to my house...I needed to clear my mind.
ANOTHER POV:
Somewhere in the outskirts of the city...a very tall man sat in his car, the scent of cigarette around the car as he smoked while staring at the outline of the beautifully lit city...his phone next to his ear. An evil smile hung on his lips.
"Seems like he found the love of his life now...his such a puppy," he smirks.
"He totally forgot about me...he's not the man I once knew before," The lady on the phone said.
The man chuckled lightly..."I told you he'll be yours very soon. Haven't you been waiting for this day for the past ten years?"
"Of course I have...but that girl...she would likely seem to ruin our plan, I feel so jealous with the way he looks at her!"
"She won't ruin our plan...she'll just make it much easier for me to get to him."
"You said you won't hurt him."
He smirked as he stepped out of his car, stomping on the cigarette
"Of course I won't...he's yours," An evil glint in his eyes as he pressed the cigarette on the floor harder.
"I want that girl dead...or I'll just kill her myself, I can't stand her," the lady said with jealousy over the phone.
"I want the girl...if you hurt her, I wouldn't bat an eye when I kill Leonard."
"So don't try to breach our agreement."
"Fine...I can't wait to finally have him back in my arms again," the lady said with excitement before disconnecting the call.
"Stupid woman, watch when I kill Leonard before your very own eyes," he smirked.
"Boss!" A huge man walked up to HIM.
"What?" he took out another cigarette from his pocket
"Leonard was seen last with the young girl at xxx street," the huge man brought out photos of Amelia and Leonard facing each other.
"Such a lovesick fool," he chuckled maniacally.
"That reminds me, buddy, I miss my dear family...why don't we pay them a visit...it's been years," he smiled uncannily.
"But boss-"
"No, I heard the company will host an event in a few days, right?"
"Yes, boss."
"Great, we'll pay them a deadly visit...I can't wait to shoot this bullet into his head and watch him die...just like I've always wished," he chuckled darkly...an unsettling glint in his eyes.
