Chapter 13 - chapter 13Shadow's Past

Victor's Past:

Victor was born into a powerful and influential family, known for their business success. However, their business practices were unethical and corrupt. From a young age, Victor observed how his parents and other family members used their power and influence over others, making wealth and gaining power through morally wrong decisions.

This experience instilled in Victor a deep belief that to succeed in life, one had to set aside personal ethics and values, resorting to any means to gain power. Even as a child, an invisible force within him began to form, one that helped shape him into a cold, calculating, and strategic character.

However, as Victor grew older, he realized that the dark side of his family and society had led many people to lose their lives and become helpless. One day, an event occurred before his eyes that would change his entire life and moral outlook. When a business rival of his family put him and his loved ones in grave danger, Victor made his biggest decision-he ran away and sought a new life.

After his escape, Victor spent some time in isolation. During this period, a revolution happened within him, and he found himself drawn to religion. His interest in Islam grew, offering him a way to break free from his past mistakes and regain his confidence. However, adopting this new faith wasn't easy, as his old family and acquaintances abandoned him, and his new lifestyle became foreign and unacceptable to them.

Despite his conversion, remnants of his old habits and mindset remained. He was still a tough, calculating, and cold person. He understood that to walk the right path in life, one had to make difficult decisions and maintain inner strength and self-confidence.

Impact of Victor's Past on His Character:

1. Attraction to Power and Control: Raised in an environment where power and control were central, Victor developed an enduring attraction to these aspects. In his relationship with Alia, he maintains this mindset, seeing her as part of a new battleground where he can display his power.

2. Doubt About Religion: Even after adopting Islam, Victor harbors some doubts and uncertainties. While he seeks to walk the path of faith, his old life and attraction to power prevent him from fully purging his darker traits.

3. Crisis of Self-Confidence: Victor's past may cause a crisis in his self-confidence. Though he appears cold and steadfast, the anger and dissatisfaction from his past still influence him.

4. Relationship with Alia and Her Family: Victor knows that his ties with Alia and her family complicate his decisions. His unresolved past and guilt might sometimes lead him to adopt a harsh, controlling attitude toward Alia.

After the Wedding:

After the wedding, Alia found herself confined within the walls of her home. Surrounded by a beautifully decorated room, the soft lighting made her isolation even more apparent. There was a strange emptiness in her eyes, as though she had lost herself. Amidst all the grandeur and festivity, she felt a profound void that nothing seemed to fill.

The wedding had been more social, familial, and religious than personal. Her faith in Victor and their relationship was fraught with bitterness and conflict, and Alia couldn't find peace in her mind. It seemed like she had lost something, though she wasn't sure what.

Victor's conversion to Islam had sparked many questions in Alia's mind. She was torn between disbelief and curiosity. Had Victor truly changed through his past and new decisions, or was he reverting to his old ways? Alia knew that much had changed in Victor's life, but there was still a lingering doubt-would he stand by her, or would he become someone different because of his new beliefs?

"Have I made the right decision?" Alia asked herself. At this moment of their marriage, she had no clear answer. An unease gnawed at her, pushing her deeper into a state of confusion. Her mental state seemed to be heading nowhere.

Eventually, Alia closed her eyes, sinking into quiet contemplation. A fierce inner battle raged inside her-on one side, the expectations of her family and society; on the other, her own desire for freedom and the challenges ahead. She knew that this new chapter of her life wouldn't be easy. But something within her gave her strength-she was the one who controlled her life, and she had to choose her path, find her peace, and happiness.

She briefly considered stepping outside the room, but then realized that this struggle was hers to face alone. Her relationship with Victor was not just a contractual arrangement-it was a fight for her life, a struggle to find herself.

In that moment, Alia understood that she could only find peace within herself if she remained true to her deepest desires and decisions. "This is my life," she thought. "I will control it, no one else."

Her mind was still filled with questions and doubt, but she knew a long and difficult journey awaited her. She had to be careful with every step she took from here on out. Alia knew that Victor was not an ordinary man. His power, influence, and connections spanned far and wide, controlling much of the country and the dark world beyond. His every move concealed secrecy, strength, and danger. Even with all this knowledge, Alia felt a growing sense of unease within herself.

The more time passed, the more this fear grew. She knew that Victor's world and hers were worlds apart. His power was not limited to wealth, influence, or resources-it lay in the depths of darkness, where law and morals had no place.

Even now, Alia couldn't fully comprehend who Victor truly was. His past, his motives-everything seemed to be shrouded in mystery. She found herself wondering, "Why would such a powerful man want to marry someone like me? Does he truly love me, or am I just part of his plan?"

These questions churned in her mind, but she couldn't bring herself to voice them. She feared that if she spoke out against Victor, the torment would never end. Even for her own safety, she couldn't summon the courage to speak up.

On one side, there was the pressure from her family and society's expectations, and on the other, the control of Victor's dark world. All of this trapped her in a difficult situation. Her mind was filled with doubt, but deep down, she knew that she had to trust Victor, or she would fall into even greater danger.

For now, Alia said nothing. The inner turmoil she felt was masked by a certain form of restraint. What she knew about Victor made him dangerous, and at times, she felt completely alone, powerless-just a small part in his world, one that could easily vanish in the darkness.

Still, Alia knew she had to find her own way. Maybe she couldn't act now, but if the opportunity ever came, she would fight for her independence, for her self-confidence.

Victor stood before Alia, his gaze filled with a certain intrigue, as if he sought to know her every thought and feeling. His cold eyes revealed no emotion, but his voice carried an authoritative tone.

"Are you thinking something, Alia?" he asked, his voice maintaining its chilling calmness.

Alia, with a hint of hesitation and restlessness in her eyes, responded, "What do you want, Victor? What is it that you want from me?" Her voice carried a sense of regret, as though even after speaking, she couldn't understand her true position.

Victor remained silent for a moment. His expression was unreadable, but a cold smile played at the corners of his lips. "If you have something to say, say it," he replied, "but remember, I already know what you're thinking."

Alia stood still, taking a moment to compose herself before speaking again. "What do you want, Victor? Why are you doing all this? Why are you putting me in this position?" Her voice was filled with frustration and disbelief. There was no peace on her face, only unrest and questions.

Victor's smile remained, but a flicker of madness appeared in his eyes. "I know what I want, Alia," he said coldly. "If you want to be by my side, you will have to accept everything. You know what I want."

Alia stood firm, fighting her inner turmoil. "I won't accept anything," she said firmly. "This is my life, and I will decide what happens."

Victor remained silent for a moment, yet there was a strange understanding in his eyes. He knew that Alia was still standing against his power, but he also knew that one day, she would have to accept this reality.

"If you think, Alia, that this battle is yours to win, one day I will show you otherwise," Victor said, his eyes carrying a silent warning.

Alia, holding onto her confidence, looked Victor in the eye for a moment. "You may control my life, but you will never control my soul," she said, her voice steady, yet resolute.
