Derrick's POV
I walked out of the council meeting, headed straight for my room. I was not about to let myself indulge in anything I didn't want to for the rest of the day.
Already having a conversation with those brown men, talking about how they wanted me to get married, was enough for the day. I didn't want any more of that.
With a clenched jaw, I walked down the hallway. However, I stopped and instead changed course to my study. I walked through the hallway underneath the staircase as I went straight for the study.
When I opened the door, I saw Anita standing there. She smiled at me sweetly, but my stomach churned at the sight. I knew that what came with that smile was something I was not going to like, so I just kept staring.
"Done with the meeting?" she asked.
I walked past her and went straight to my chair, where I took a seat and relaxed. "What do you want?"
Anita seemed to ignore the tone of my voice. She calmly took a seat on the chair. "I came to talk about Nathan."
