Nathan's POV
It all happened so fast. One minute, Hades' fingers were stroking my chin slowly. The way he touched me, the feel of his hand on me, made my skin crawl. I couldn't move.
When Felix was here, Hade made it clear that trying to move away from him would have consequences, and Derrick's presence would not change anything.
So, I couldn't move. I didn't want to be slammed against the wall, nor did I wish to be strangled. So I stayed still. Frozen. Swallowing down my disgust as Hades leaned in, his lips hovering just above mine.
However, before his lips could touch mine, I held my breath, pure hatred flowing through me. This was the life I was sentenced to because of Derrick, because of my father.
And then, like a flash of lightning, he was gone. All I felt at that moment was a gust of wind rushing past my face, sharp and fast. My eyes flew open. His lips were gone, far from me.
