Chapter 116: Dark Demon Cannot Choose Between Time and Love
Dark Demon poured freshly squeezed apple juice and pear juice into two separate glasses and handed them to Diana and Rose.
The two little girls had already taken a liking to the taste of these two juices and now accepted the glasses, sipping them slowly.
Dark Demon poured himself a glass of water and casually asked, "So, what do you want to know?"
Diana: "Everything, of course!"
Rose nudged her waist and whispered, "Is it over?"
Dark Demon: "It's come to a temporary close."
Rose immediately patted her chest and sighed in relief, "That's good."
After saying this, she pulled Diana along, wished him "Good night," and left.
Dark Demon saw them out before locking the door again, his expression then turning slightly grave.
The events of tonight had actually exceeded his expectations; he was far less relaxed than he appeared.
"It's a new month already."
Next, he planned to check his Sin indicators while his mind was still relatively clear, and then formulate some new plans.
But before that, perhaps a bath was a good idea.
Although his hair had been dried, he had indeed been caught in the rain. If he wasn't careful, he might genuinely have to visit the infirmary during the day.
The first day of November was Halloween, a Wednesday, which meant a day off.
Dark Demon soaked in a tub full of hot water for a good half hour, squinting as he recalled all the events of the night. Suddenly, he noticed that the short-haired girl he had knocked down in the temple seemed to be wearing the same costume as Virt.
"No way?"
Thinking about what had happened to Robert, Dark Demon suddenly had a very bad feeling.
...
After finishing his bath, Dark Demon dried his hair, wrapped a bath towel around himself, and walked out of the bathroom.
But just as he took a step out, he immediately fled back in.
"All clean?"
Professor Lily Laplace's voice, tinged with a hint of laziness, came from the bed in the bedroom.
Dark Demon grabbed a larger bath towel and wrapped himself up before going out to pick up his clothes.
"Professor, trespassing in a student's dormitory isn't something a respectable pixie would do."
Professor Lily Laplace immediately patted her chest and sighed in relief, "Good thing I'm not a respectable pixie."
"Meow meow meow~" Catnip Grass climbed onto the bed and rubbed against her arm.
She picked up Catnip Grass, teased it a bit, and casually said, "Dark Demon, I didn't expect you to be interested in raising cats too?"
Dark Demon: "That's grass."
Lily: "It's a cat!"
Catnip Grass: "Meow!"
Dark Demon took his pajamas into the bathroom, changed, and then came out, "So, Professor, you came so late just to pet a cat?"
Professor Lily Laplace focused on petting the cat, paying him no mind.
After a while, she shrank back to sit up on the headboard, placed Catnip Grass on her lap, and beckoned Dark Demon to sit beside her.
The little pixie always exuded an aura as clear and fresh as a wilderness.
Dark Demon sat down beside her, prepared to be a listener.
Professor Lily Laplace, having calmed down by petting the cat, said softly, "Dark Demon, have you ever liked someone?"
Dark Demon shook his head.
Professor Lily Laplace: "I thought so, you're still so young."
Dark Demon suddenly said, "What about you?"
Professor Lily Laplace said proudly, "Of course, I have, I'm so old!"
Dark Demon seized the opportunity to ask the question he had always wanted to ask: "Then how old is the professor?"
Professor Lily Laplace: "Not much, just over two hundred years old."
Dark Demon made a rough calculation and said in surprise, "Isn't that just childhood?"
Lily: "Hey! Annoying, I'm not a little girl!"
Dark Demon: "..."
Professor Lily Laplace: "You humans, your lifespans are just too short, gone in the blink of an eye. Alice was like that, Pudge was like that, and Am was like that too..."
Dark Demon: "Who are they?"
Professor Lily Laplace: "Alice, ah, she was my earliest friend, even before Didi! She was really gentle, a good cook too, her vanilla cookies were especially delicious. Even though she was about the same height as me, she knew everything... It's a pity, one day I went home for a visit, and I never saw her again."
Dark Demon: "What about Pudge?"
"Pudge, ah."
Professor Lily Laplace rested her cheek on her hand and thought for a moment, "He was a butcher, but every time after slaughtering a pig, he would go to the church to confess. I heard he later married the nun from the church, had a baby, and became a doctor."
Dark Demon: "Then what about Am?"
Professor Lily Laplace was silent for a moment: "Am, ah, Am was my best friend. He was amazing, only in his teens, but already better with a sword than me. We registered an adventure team and always ran into dangerous places. He was always the one who saved me."
Dark Demon: "Adventure team?"
Professor Lily Laplace: "Yes, a four-person adventure team. Me, Didi, Kazel, and Am."
Saying this, she took out a beautiful Flower card adorned with blue flowers.
It was the Blue Enchantress, a type of blue rose that grew very rarely in nature.
Pure love and profound kindness, the Blue Enchantress that keeps its promises.
Professor Lily Laplace infused magic power into the Flower card, and the Blue Enchantresses bloomed one after another.
As the flowers floated out from the card face and scattered outwards, a face appeared on the card.
It was a human boy with a round face, a sweet smile, like an angel.
Dark Demon had seen it once before, on the day Professor Lily Laplace was drunk.
...
Time flowed leisurely, the night was gentle.
Professor Lily Laplace held the Flower card and told the story of her and Am, Didi, and Kazel.
Those were the happiest, most exciting, and also the most nostalgic days of her two-hundred-plus years of life.
The cowardly and kind young swordsman, the arrogant and stubborn little pixie mage, the mischievous little pixie sage, and the goblin alchemist who was both a father and a mother.
Everyone had their strengths and weaknesses.
Everyone had their virtues and flaws.
Only by taking care of each other and complementing each other could they journey far.
Though it was only five years, Lily felt it was a period longer than fifty years.
In the fifth year of their journey.
Relying on a tattered map, they found an ancient temple buried for an unknown amount of time beneath the Forest of No One.
Various murals were carved within the temple, silently narrating the past of history.
Many statues were placed in the depths of the temple.
Some were broken, some intact.
Some were completely abandoned, while others still retained a divine consciousness.
It wasn't until they entered a hall dedicated to the Moon Goddess that they encountered the greatest crisis since their team's formation.
After much difficulty in clearing away all obstacles, they triggered the final remnant consciousness of the Moon Dominator.
The four of them had to endure the final trial to leave the temple.
The so-called trial was to choose between "love" and "time."
Didi chose "time."
Kazel chose "love."
Lily chose "love."
Am chose "time."
Dark Demon scooped up Catnip Grass and covered Lily with a blanket.
