Chapter 58 - Celestial goddess

Chapter 58: Celestial goddess.

[Mythiopia]

"Why didn't Calhoun come?" Stella asked her maid Carrie who she had previously sent to inquire about Calhoun.

"Reporting to princess, the guards told me that prince Calhoun did arrive with prince Adrian yesterday. But the prince didn't come out of the beast king's chamber after he entered."

Stella frowned. Did Calhoun offend the beast king somehow and the king grounded him? She wanted to go and check, but there were so many guests here. She would be easily spotted if she makes unnecessary visits to any royal family member.

Even her maids would be easily spotted if she asks them to spy in the guests wing.

After thinking for a while the princess decided to ask her mother. She must definitely know what's happening around.

On the hand, in the ancestral shrine, both Lawrence and Aliza were alone with the priest.

"High priest, who is Amantha?" Lawrence could finally ask his question after the ceremony for the day was done.

"She is one of your ancestors your majesty" The high priest replied as he wiped a drop sweat from his forehead. What else can he say. This was all he read in those old scriptures his teacher gave him. Who knew one day the king would call him up on that.

"How many names did you recite?"

The priest immediately started recounting every name and replied after a solid 2 minutes. "Your m-majesty.. Around 60 names."

Calculations went fast in the king's head. He traced back their ancestors of the previous 30 generations. And from the old letters he had read, Amantha must be someone who was in the first 5 generations.

"How come we never had any history mentioning about a queen ruling Mythiopia?" Lawrence asked. Amantha was the only female name in that whole list. That should have made it into history.

"Though I am not aware of the entire history, I remember my master telling me a story of one of the ancestors. A celestial goddess once blessed your first ancestor with divine magic. The same magic that is passed down till today. I think she is that goddess. The great ancestor must have added her name to honor her."

Lawrence and Aliza were shocked. A celestial goddess? Embodiment of nature itself?

They knew about this story, but they thought it was just a way to glorify their lineage. Or might be some normal heavenly goddess gifted some magical artifact and the story became more fictional as the time went.

The high priest patiently stood their without disturbing the royal couple.

Lawrence tried to remember the energy brimming in Isabella when she was born. He didn't think or pay a lot of attention at that time since Stella was kidnapped. But Isabella energy actually closed the gates of hell and opened the gates of human realm.

No heavenly deity can do that. In fact, many deities were not even powerful enough to challenge Lawrence.

Now thinking about it, their easy defeats might be partially because they couldn't counter or escape the divine magic running in his veins.

Lawrence took a look at the high priest and snapped his fingers, erasing the memories of their conversation. The high priest shut his eyes for a minute before opening them, confused.

"Y-Your majesty?"

"All the rituals should go smoothly high priest." Lawrence said, and the priest bobbed his head up and down rapidly. He didn't know what the hell he was doing standing here in front of the king.

He left in a hurry after assuring the king and the queen.

"What do you think Lawrence?" Aliza asked after the priest left?

"I remember Draphior mentioning his wife to not play with stars and planets." The king mentioned. He thoughts it was some kind of metaphor in those days. But seems like the gatekeeper said it in the literal sense.

"Do you remember the star alignment Lawrence?" Aliza questioned. Lawrence nodded solemnly. How can he forget that?

When the twins were born, the astronomers and Lawrence were able to predict only one birth - the first birth - Stella's birth. But Isabella's stars were never found. Everyone thought it was because the youngest princess was a magical void. But seems like it's because she owned all the stars and one star couldn't represent her.

But Lawrence didn't understand how the power of nature can be defeated? Isabella being born as his daughter meant that Amantha perished. He also couldn't figure out why his daughter's power didn't return back to her. After all, nature's aura is infinite right?

"Don't worry Al. Dylan is there with Isabella. She won't be in any trouble as long as he is close." Lawrence assured. Though, as parents, the worry about their daughter would not leave them, they cannot wear it on their sleeves and let everyone know about it. It would only do more harm to Isabella.

Aliza took a deep breathe and nodded. Dylan's presence around Isabella assured her to some level.

[London]

"How can you not be jealous? Any girl in love will be jealous." Dylan asserted.

He thought Isabella might be angry or jealous after that encounter with Paige. But she was completely normal, talking about dinner and planning their weekend.

Isabella rolled her eyes hearing her husband whine again and again about the same topic.

"Why would I be jealous? I already have you. The other party should be the jealous one."

"Then you should at least be angry" Dylan said again. Only today did he realize that they never fought after getting married. Isabella might get angry and upset sometimes, but Dylan would pamper her and spoil her more, not fight with her.

"Tch. You will be sleeping on this couch if I get angry. So drop this stupid topic and have some confidence in yourself hubby" Isabella said as she switched to a sports channel on TV.

Dylan sighed. Fine. It's good that his girl is so secure in their relationship. But he really wanted to see Isabella's jealous face at least once.

Isabella slightly smirked noticing him making faces.

"Fine now. There is a huge list of grocery shopping to do. Go and get them." Isabella ordered and she herself lazily laid on the couch.

"You are also coming with me" Dylan said. He wasn't going to leave her alone here. It was fine in the campus since there would always be many students around her. But not here.

"Please Dylan. I will be fine. I am tired, and if you don't go now, we might starve tomorrow. Pleasee.."

Dylan wasn't going to buy that. He wondered how Isabella can still dare to stay alone after landing in the hospital last time.

As if on a cue, his huge wings flapped and few metal like feathers flew out towards Isabella. Both Dylan and Isabella tensed, but the feathers simply made a circle around Isabella and slightly gleaned blue every now and then.

Both Isabella and Dyan blinked there eyes looking at this. This had never happened before. Did these wings have a brain of their own?

"Wow. Seems like they can protect me if something happens. You go." Isabella shooed him away. Dylan pursed his lips but seems like the feathers can indeed protect her. At least the fancy circle did give that feel.

"Fine. Keep you phone close by. Okay?" Dylan said and took a cloth bag and his wallet to get the groceries. He gave one last glance at Isabella who in turn blew him a kiss and closed the door.
