Selene stood between Amara and Victor, her sharp eyes full of fury. Her voice was low, but it carried—razor-sharp and icy.
"Aren't you the bitch who made the entire Academy see Victor as a sexual assaulter?"
Amara flinched. Whispers burst through the nearby spectators like wildfire. Victor said nothing at first, his eyes fixed on Amara, who looked like she wanted the ground to swallow her whole. Her fingers fidgeted, face pale beneath the golden hue of the arena sunlight.
"I didn't mean—" she started.
But then—
> "Victor Revenant. Prepare for your match."
The announcement echoed across the stadium like a divine call.
The tension in the air froze. Selene blinked, still fuming. Victor exhaled slowly, took one last glance at Amara, and scoffed.
"Don't worry," he said coldly, "I'm keeping my distance. Just like you wanted."
Then he turned and walked away.
