[Child birth, an event that is so highly celebrated as all the anxiety it carried with it washes away with the cries of the child. This anxiety that exists in the moment persists even after the birth as life needs care to thrive.
In case of twins, this anxiety becomes a soul crashing stance. One which results in a gamble of unfavorable odds. Out of the three parties, two were often guaranteed to perish. That is why, the mortality rate for twin births amounts to 98% of total twin related births. For twins to be born, an insurmountable amount of spiritual vibrations are required. More so than normal if divinity sensitivity or spiritual sensitivity is concerned.
In a world where this all stands to be fact, it made me wonder; Why is it that I was born? Me, who hungers for nothing, someone without any ambition. This question made me seek out an answer. Eventually leading me to the book I consider my favorite. "A Fractured Reality."
It was the first book I ever read and partially the reason I became an avid reader.]
"Nèe!" Mèe called out, "This isn't a twin game if you conceal your spiritual vibrations from me. How are I supposed to find you if my magic can't sync with yours?!" At the time, he was moving around the mansion. Checking every room as an attempt to locate Nèe. As they were twins, finding him shouldn't have been a task too daunting to be accomplished.
[By nature, the souls of twin are connected. Each half acting like an opposing charge to attract the other. And through syncing can their best strength ever be brought forward. As I was his other half, I often wondered if I was the reason why his growth had stagnated. After all, considering will, I was the weaker of the two and he was so effortlessly stronger than I am.]
"Fine Nèe! I get that you don't want to be found but I don't care. With your kind of aura, even if you tried to hide I will always find you. Because to me, that is what it means to be your half." Mèe shouted, much to the dismay of the servants. He had been noisy all morning, and currently, it was the afternoon.
He sat down, calming his mind. Why is my protagonist of a brother doing? It has only been a week since he agreed to pursuing the path that is knighthood.
"You are my blood; and beyond that my flesh. Just like how a heart will allows pump blood to the brain and the brain send signals to it, we function the same. The heart knows where the brain dwells and the brain does the same." It doesn't matter where you can hide. I will find you—
He walked back to their room, slamming the door open before going to look under the bed. "Seriously Nèe, this is where you hid. Next time, at least try to give me more of a signal." He let out a sigh in exasperation before his mouth was grabbed shut. He was dragged under the bed. Nèe was trembling, sweating and panting. His anxiety leaking out as he grabbed Mèe tighter and tighter.
Mèe pulled Nèe's hands off his mouth before saying, "Did you see something you don't like again? Did that dismembered man come back again? "
He nodded his head in response before another question was issued. "Then, describe it to me."
"It's-..it's a heart….and—and it has a serpent wrapped around it. It has…kind of fused with it."
"So it must be in this room then."
Nèe nodded yes in response before adding, "It's on the bed. It has been there since morning. It knows I am here and keeps watching me. They all keep watching me."
Mèe thought, Right, classic protagonist misbelief. You are giving off more main character energy. "Just give me your hand Nèe, we are going to walk out. Make sure to look at it okay."
[I was horrified on my way out. Fearing even the air I took in, yet, he was calm. Seeing that made me question even more, why was I born if I would stunt his growth and never seek out a role of my own?]
"Listen Nèe, you are going to be the protagonist. And I…..your deuteragonist. That is, above all else, something I can promise you."
[When he said those words, I finally understood it. The reason why I grew to love that novel. It was because "A Fractured Reality" reminded me so much of him. A half of a dysfunctional whole. Someone born with no gift, yet, has a siblings who was born with all. I fill the role of the sibling with the gift yet non of the desire. If fiction is a product of reality like he told me, then it is entirely possible to return it from where it came.
If he believes I am the protagonist, I need to elevate him to be beyond me and claim that seat. That was the only thought I could have…but even it faded to nothing…eventually.]
~
Vines spread uncontrollably, spreading to even the depth of the river. "Mèe, we are inseparable, right?"
"Why would you ask such a stupid question Nèe?" Mèe said, raising his hand and signaling for the rods to descend like hail.
"I declared it earlier so I just wanted to hear it." He smiled before vines emerged from his torso and arms.
"What?" why do I feel charmed? What is with Nèe's random line? That is the kind of nonsense I expect from a protagonist of a harem novel. Mèe shook his head.
"Aaaahhh, Mèe, you look distracted." Nèe stuttered before his gaze shifted toward Tondra. She stood motionless, her gaze steadily fixed on the multitude of blades raining down on her. Since when does his metal constructs sharpen? She wondered before she propelled herself toward them.
"Just like my brother!" She exclaimed, Lightning rampaging out of her body. I have always watched my siblings from behind the window to my room. Each technique they know of, I have seen. Streams of parallel lines left her body, phasing through the rods before entering her. That is the future I want….. "Now, Lightning Art: Oscillatory Charge: Destruction Absolute; Modified." I am the world, my field cuts through even the light. Repel and repel!
Lightning rampaged, exploding out of her body, a giant sphere of lightning with her at its core. It repelled all the rods, sending them flying. No sooner had the sphere faded than a massive vine grabbed her foot, swinging her before planting her in the ground. She crushed violently in the water. Where, the other vines that lay in the depth, grabbed her. Hoping to drown her. They squeezed her ribs and limbs as she struggled to free herself. Crackling could be heard when a mass of charges gathered over the water.
"And Boom," Nèe muttered watching as a parallel line ran through him. Thunder clapped as lightning descended. From the water, a white light fading to blue emerged. Stopping in the air. It propelled itself toward them.
Nèe saw through the light before raising his hand. The vines that lay around them gathered. Coiling into a massive drill. "Wood Art: Ethidium Recoil; Absolute Stasis." Let's go, miss.
The light released a sphere of lightning with itself at the core, clashing into the vines. The vines began releasing a green aura when they clashed with it.
Lightning rampaged, striking all around the battlefield. A war cry could be heard from the core of the sphere. It shrunk, ripping through the vines. It broke out, heading exactly where he and Mèe stood. But Mèe, was no where to be found.
A yellowish aura exploded in front of her. No way, she thought. A giant mace materialized in Mèe's hands. A yellowish aura erupted from its grey surface. "Metal Art: Structural Crystali; Ragnarök!" he exclaimed. The yellow aura coated mace clashed with the sphere. At its core, Tondra exclaimed, "Lightning Art: Oscillatory Charge; Destruction Absolute!"
The sphere shrunk, coating only her daggers. The daggers clashed with the mace as she attempted to overpower him. Flashes of lightning left her body, clenching her teeth more and more.
Mèe clenched his teeth as well, struggling to fling her. He let out a war cry of his own before sending her airborne. She attempted to slow herself down when the purple stripes that rounded her eyes lengthened. She then released a stream of parallel lines which rampaged around her. To her, she saw all the charges that scattered from their clash.
"One more," she muttered before her aura dissipated. Flashes of lightning rounded her body.
Nèe looked to the sky when he saw a series of parallel lines heading his way. "This is getting out of hand, she survived that." The lines continued spreading until they phased through him.
"I get it now miss, you must be divinity sensitive like I am. No wonder you can release so much power." It's a shame for you.
Mèe planted his feet firmly in the ground, his mace erupted in aura. "This is my fourth and final Ragnarök for the day. I can only do up to four a day. Now, Metal Art: Structural Crystali; Ragnarök."
Tondra slowed down, looking down from above. My heart is racing so much….this feeling, it is so exciting. I am ecstatic—it is enthralling. (I want to drown in it.) All the scattered charges gathered, clustering around her.
This is Thora's technique. My older brother, Hadad's guard's technique. By making my body emit a charge that is like to the charges that surround me, I form a repulsion field that will force me into a certain direction. Aquatic swimming but from a static cloud of particles. The parallel lines revolved around her before phasing through her once more. "That is the future I want. One where I mimic her technique. Now, Lightning Art: Parallel Charge; Deep Surge."
She was projected downwards. Moving faster and faster still. Her daggers became coated in Lightning when she exclaimed, "Lightning Art: Oscillatory Charge; Destruction Absolute!"
Her daggers clashed with the mace. The earth underneath Mèe shuttering as he forced himself back. Lightning rampaging and ripping the ground as they each vied for victory.
'Your magic rages like an uncontrollable storm. Much like your heart. These blades shall sharpen.' A voice whispered to her ears. The mace cracked before the daggers ran through it.
The ground exploded before she crashed into it. She continued panting, sweating dripping in buckets. Blood trickled from her face and arms. She clenched her teeth, groaning. "I did it."
When she looked up, she saw a tsunami of vines falling on her. "Wood Art: Ethidium Recoil; Ragnarök." Was the final statement she heard before it turned to darkness. I didn't expect her to overcome Mèe's Ragnarök. That was out of this world. Blue flaming feathers fell from the sky as he fell down hyperventilating. He went to find Mèe as he could still feel the latter's life force.
