They were both dumbfounded, Audrey was able to heal people and she has healed Annie a lot of times before even when she cuts herself during their cooking lessons. So why not now? Why can't it work? She ran to pick up her bag and began to search for something to stop her from bleeding but there was nothing. She bit her lower lip with knitted eyebrows, the next second she ripped her sleeve and went to wrap it on around her shoulder, adding pressure so that the wound could stop bleeding. Annie watched her, she was struggling around just to tend to her wound, her eyes couldn't hold back the tears, she was such an angel even to low lives like her and that is what makes her special. Thought Annie.
Audrey got even more worried when she saw her tears "Does it hurt that much? I'm sorry" she asked to have her shook her head quickly, Audrey pulled her in for a hug. "I'm sorry, I couldn't heal you this time Annie, I…I shouldn't have taken you here" she felt guilty. Annie pulled away "Oh come one Rey! I'll go whatever you go, you know that were inseparable" she wiped away her tears, assuring her that she was fine now. "Shall we continue now?" She helped her up, "Yes, I think I'm good to go" respnded Annie with a smile.
"We're almost there, I promise" she held her hand and started to walk beside her, they walked for a while until a cave came into their view.
Annie gasped. She never thought that there might be such a big cave here, the dark forest has so many surprises. Her mind tild her there is nothing normal here, only hideous monsters! As if sensing her fear Audrey turned to face her "Um…Annie I think you…" before she could finish her words Annie cut Audrey off. No! Hell no! I'm coming in with you!" She announced. She saw it in her eyes that she would stop her from following her, hell no! She won't let her go in there alone even though she is wounded. Audrey sighed "Please try and understand me, just wait here for me I'll be quick, I promise" she pressed her cheeks in assurance. "Aaah, I'm tired of that word! You can't promise when your life could be endangered!" She blurted getting furious. Why did they came here at first place? "Annie listen, I'll go in quick and come out and if I don't please don't come in. Just go and seek for help." Annie shook her head, "No please," she pleaded with her teary eyes.
Audrey hugged her, patting her back "I'll be back Annie," she pulled away, she paced around looking for a tree stick, those words, they were as if she telling them to herself instead, she would be back. She started to walk, she turned only when she was standing by the entrance of the cave, sparing a glance at her with a warm smile before she went in. Annie on the other hand stared at her back until she completely disappeared deeper into the darkness of the cave. She sighed, there was nothing she could do to stop her, she has tried her best. And her bleeding shoulder wasn't helping at all, fear crept back in her soul two times than before, she held her sword firmly with her other hand, her eyes darting at every side.
Audrey chanted some words and soon the stick on her hand lit up with fire, making her surroundings become clearer. She pointed her torch forward to guide her to the dark cave, she walked further inside for a while when suddenly the whispers started to bless her ears again. "Come to me, hurry, hurry now" the sound this time was more than a whisper, it echoed in the whole cave making her tremble, she halted for a minute navigating where the sound was coming from with her ears, she needed to follow it. It was the only way now because not even the map could show her the way now. Clenching on her sword she swallowed and followed the voice, her walking pace was increasing at a time, she almost stumbled and fall on her head. She staggered back gasping for nth time since the first time she entered the cave, she has stepped on a skeleton it wasn't possibly a normal one, the bones were huge, she wondered of what creature was that skeleton.
As she was lost in her daze, the voice called out again and it hit her on ber back pulling her to reality. "Shit!" She cursed, she almost forgot her purpose. She ran after the voice this time, gasping for air, she halted when the whole place lighted up, there were thousands of torches glowing everywhere getting rid of the darkness. She blinked her eyes in disbelief, she scanned every corner that her eyes could take her. The walls were curved in a language she never saw before, tilting her head up she let out a silence breath of being awed. There were stones on the far end up there, they were shaped with sharp and pointed lile spears, the way they pointed down felt like they would down and pierce anything to death below, that thing could be her for she was the one standing below, she shivered just at the thought of it. There was a waterfall inside the cave, the water was sparkling with light of different colors making jer wonder if she had truly just entered a cave or then to another dimension instead.
"You finally came Audrey" came a deep voice startling her, she almost lose her footing again she turned to her front where the voice has came from. She covered her mouth as her eyes enlarged, there was a sand raising up and flowing in the air creating a big wall, shortly it fell down with a big force making it dust all over the place. Audrey covered her face, avoiding the dust from blinding her eyes given a crazy situation she was in. Once the dust settled down, she slowly opened her green eyes, asking her heart to remain calm but her mouth betrayed her and she found herself screaming even though she didn't intend to "Aaah!". Before her was a figure of an old woman, she has the longest white hairs she have ever seen, they almost reached her toes. Her wrinkled face looked so scary and her pair of green eyes told her everything abouy her identity however she had a ring around her neck and a long chain tied somewhere, she was tied!.
"You are a witch" they were the first words to come out of ber parted mouth, her heart was beating wildly. And here she thought the whispers were of a male but hell no! It belonged to an old woman who just happened to have a deeo voice for her gender. "Obviously child" she uttered painfully, Audrey frowned seeing the old woman could barely talk and from her standing position it clearly showed how much weak she was. She wondered for how long she stood there like that, her legs seems like they could give away anytime yet she still stood there. She shook her head scolding herself for pitying her whe that's exactly not what brought her here. She cleared her throat "Why did you call me here? And what do you want from me?" She wasn't a type to beat around the bush so she went straight to the point, short and clear so she could get out of this creepy cave. There was Annie out there waiting for her.
"Smart, but have patience child," she uttered, and then stayed silent as if she was in a deep thinking. Audrey didn't retort amd just glared at her. The old woman shut her eyes and from where she stood she could feel that she was summoning her power, she was a witch as well after all. Audrey stood in ready steady mode as well just incase the weird and scary old woman does anything to harm her, she would be ready to take her last breath. However, the old woman breathed out, raising her hand in the air and opened her eyes. "I'm Margareta! The one remaining amongst the six royal witch sisters. And I mean no harm to you but to open your eyes instead so stop stiffening and ease down your worry. " she paused pointing her hand to the wall beside them.
Audrey was surprised, she had read about the sux royal witch sisters growing up, the book was amongst the ones her father has stacked in her room urging her to read them. She couldn't believe that she was lucky enough to meet with one when the story said they don't exist anymore. Out of blue a blank ink started to move on the wall reminding her of something, "Pay heed to what I'm about to tell you child for you are the only light to shine and break through this dark world" Audrey couldn't really understand her statement but she could seel how much serious she was, she nodded staring at the wall. "When the time comes no kind would find a corner to hide for what's coming, all the kinds would suffer greatly, bloodbath to all Kingdoms. Children, women, elders, men, nothing will be left. The lucifer's descendants will ruin everything and would want to take over the world to rule it under their dark rule" as Margareta kept talking, the ink drew everything that she says and it displayed in a drawings of the events she was speaking of. Margaret's eyes were glowing and her white hairs were shining white that could one's vision.
Audrey felt her heart sinking, a sudden fear as she kept watching the drawings, the distraction! Tears streamed down without her knowledge, it was horrible. An upcoming war! She thought. "Only with the children born under the moonlight could stop the dark from swallowing the world, stop dark lord Akeinan. Th3 princess with hair color shifting and the lord of the dragons, only of their powers are joined together they could stop this atrocity from happening" she fell down to her knees once she finished talking, using her power has drained her already weak body. Audrey was shocked and really ran to her side to help her, she flinched upon holding her, her body was so extremely cold! She knew exactly what it meant, this poor old woman would die anytime soon.
"Wha..was that a prophecy?" Her voice was shaking as she asked this, what she saw was so horrifying. She was overwhelmed bu all of it. Margareta held both of her hands "You have to find the dragon lord, find the prince before that time comes and complete the prophecy my child!" She was talking desperately as her eyes searched into hers, she waved her hand and a necklace appeared from the ground, where she was standing by. Audrey didn't know what happened but then this witch must've been anvery powerful witch back in her days, she could sense and see it. Margareta picked up the necklace which had a purple jade and made her wear it around her sweaty neck, her eyes widening as she felt some sort of energy flowing in her body. She stared at her in disbelief, what was she doing to her?.
"This is a token, our only hope to help and guide you, never take it off for it is going to show you the way" saying the words the sharp amd pointy rocks on the top started to fall down, crushing down to the ground "I was just waiting for you but now you have to go child, they are coming!" She yelled at her, pushing her away from her. Audrey was confused. What is she talking about? Who was coming? She was dumbfounded.
