Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 - Prologue II

"Class Skills."

Moving on to the next topic, because here is one of the explanations for why I have a Saint Graph in my body.

================================

•Class Skills•

Existence Outside the Domain: EX

Divinity: E

Mad Enhancement: EX

Avenger (Skill): EX

Oblivion Correction: EX

Self-Replenishment (Mana): E

================================

I think this can be considered the main secret to why I possess a Saint Graph.

But specifically, the Divinity skill.

And although all the other Class Skills are also complements to my Classes—Foreigner, Berserker, and Avenger—

Divinity is a skill of the Foreigner Class.

But yes, Divinity explains one of the reasons why I have a Saint Graph.

Maybe it's the main reason, or maybe not. I'm not entirely sure about that, honestly.

Many things in the Nasuverse are so complicated that it's really not worth stopping to think about them too deeply.

The best thing to do is just accept it and not dwell on overly complex matters.

"Don't worry about it."

You'll avoid a huge headache if you just don't worry about it.

But I think I should clarify the basics for myself right now.

Because now I'm personally inserted into the Nasuverse, and I can't ignore it anymore.

First of all, why Divinity might be one of the reasons I have a Saint Graph.

================================

Divinity: E

A Foreign God who originally has no Divinity, Authority, Divine Core, and is also neither a Conceptual God born from Divinized Natural Phenomena nor a Conceptual God born from the World.

Divinity was a skill of the Foreigner Class, for a being that comes from Outside the World and does not follow the World's Laws.

But it acquired new characteristics and aspects of the Divinity skill through the ancient legends that bore its name, Beelzebub. As one of the Chief Gods of the Phoenicians, Baal.

Divinity should originally have been Rank B, but its rank rose to EX for being a Foreign God with powers beyond Human and World Comprehension.

Due to mentality, the EX rank of Divinity drastically dropped to Rank E Divinity.

Resistance to attacks from Divinities with roots, legends, and/or lineages of Thunder, Wind, Rain, Weather, Fertility, Sea, and War Divinities of rank E- and below.

This is a skill that also reduces the special defensive values of "Anti-Purge," a type of ultimate defensive skill that protects against an attack capable of ending the World. The effect is proportional to the Divinity rank. Divinity can break through skills like "Protection of the Faith" of Christian Servants and the "Enlightenment of the Sacred Fig" of Buddha.

The lack of a "Divine Core" does not negate its right to be a True Living God, as it is a God beyond Human and World Comprehension.

================================

The description of Divinity is a bit too long.

But one of the possible reasons for me having a Saint Graph is fully explained in a few words.

"But it acquired new characteristics and aspects of the Divinity skill through the ancient legends that bore its name, Beelzebub. As one of the Chief Gods of the Phoenicians, Baal."

Yes. That was the reason, or rather, one of them.

Because of the ancient legends of Beelzebub or the God Baal, to be more specific, I gained his Divinity, or rather, assumed parts of it.

I'm not entirely sure about this yet.

But it seems that Divinity came with a part of Baal's Saint Graph.

Even though I'm actually a living person and not a Spiritual Being like Heroic Spirits or Divine Spirits.

It's almost like a Demi-Servant, who inherits the skills of the Heroic Spirit within their body.

I inherited the Divinity of the Divine Spirit Baal, just as any other Demi-Servant would inherit the skills of the Heroic Spirit whose Saint Graph is within their body.

But it seems I didn't inherit any of Baal's powers or part of his Authority. Which is honestly a shame.

Although Divinity is merely a measure for a Divine Spirit and not the real thing, a Divine Core.

I am still a True God in flesh and blood with a physical body.

The reason I'm still a real God is because the Gods in Shuumatsu no Valkyrie are very different from the Gods in the Nasuverse in general.

In fact, any God from other anime or works is essentially different from the Gods of the Nasuverse.

A God in the Nasuverse was a Natural Phenomenon that was divinized by a people in some ancient era of the past.

Or it was just one of the Natural Phenomena of Nature that suddenly gained some form of consciousness, long before humanity even existed in the world.

But even so, the latter was limited by the same rules as the former. Humans!

Gods that didn't need humanity began to need humanity.

In the distant past, during the Age of Gods, the Gods of the Nasuverse were actually alive with flesh-and-blood bodies; they also had physical bodies.

But with the end of their respective eras in each of the Pantheons at different times, the Gods were downgraded to Divine Spirits.

Beings of a Spiritual Nature.

The ancient Sumerians were around the 16th century BC, 2,600 years BC, with Gilgamesh no longer strengthening the bonds between Gods and Humans. But the Sumerian Gods were in decline long before gilgamesh severed the ties between Gods and Humanity.

The Norse Gods were around the 10th century BC with the arrival of what was known as Ragnarok. That was 1,000 years BC.

And although some Eastern Pantheons managed to survive the end of the Age of Gods, such as the Shinto, Taoist, Buddhist, and Hindu Pantheons,

The Gods couldn't withstand the low amount of Mana and were soon reduced to the state of Divine Spirits.

The Gods of the Nasuverse didn't just need Humanity. They also needed a large amount of Mana to maintain their living bodies or their physical manifestations.

Since the bodies of the Gods were merely physical manifestations of Nature.

I think this also included the Possession of Compatible Humans that the Gods used with the Deterioration after what Sefar did in 12,000 BC.

So even if a God survived the end of the Age of Gods, that God still wouldn't survive after the Age of Gods due to the lack of Mana in the World.

Even if they were one of those Gods who originally didn't need Humanity, like the Machine Gods, to maintain their power.

Those Gods would still be completely reduced to the state of Divine Spirits.

Putting my situation in a more practical way.

The World's Rules affect me a little. But not completely, because I'm a completely alien God who doesn't need the World or Humanity to be an existence with a physical body.

But I'm still affected by the Rules and Laws of the Nasuverse World.

The Nasuverse World is full of many Rules, and these Rules are not ones anyone would want to mess with lightly without proper precautions against them.

Especially when the current Rules of the World are the Laws of Physics.

Even though I'm still a stranger to this World.

The World still affects me with all the Rules and Laws that exist in it.

I'm very lucky not to be seen as an immediate threat by Alaya.

Not that I want to destroy the World to be seen as a threat by Gaia or Alaya.

Quite the opposite. I prefer the world to follow its natural course so I can enjoy my life living in peace in it.

Who knows, maybe one day I'll see humanity starting futuristic space exploration.

Maybe I'll be on that spaceship exploring space.

But the small fact that I'm a Human inside is also helping me not be considered a threat by Alaya against its Humanity.

And because I'm a God, I'm also somewhat well-regarded by Gaia.

And that's why I'm also qualified as a Beast Candidate and a Grand Servant.

Although there are other reasons besides these two, they are the main ones in a way.

I'm starting to think I should have a Neutral Neutral Alignment.

Upon analyzing the Divinity skill on the status screen more directly, the information about what Divinity is has become a bit clearer to me now.

Divinity is a defensive skill that only has an effect against those who also have Divinity of a similar nature.

Divinity increases defense, or rather, it makes someone almost immune to attacks from someone who also has Divinity of a similar nature to their Divinity.

But their Divinity rank has to be lower than your Divinity.

I can give a few examples of this without any issues.

There aren't many Servants I can use as a good example.

But Karna, who normally has Strength B, has his physical attacks classified as Strength A because of the Spear of Indra he uses in combat.

If I had resistance to Sun Divinity and faced Karna, and if my Divinity was at least Rank A+,

Karna's standard physical attacks wouldn't be very useful against me in the hypothetical situation I just formulated in my mind, where I have a Sun Divinity of Rank A+ or higher.

A simpler way to look at it is to take two Demi-Gods, children of a Thunder God.

Demi-God A has Divinity A, and Demi-God B has Divinity B.

In this situation, Demi-God A, with their superior Divinity to Demi-God B, would have great resistance to any of Demi-God B's attacks, who has an inferior Divinity to Demi-God A.

But this only applies to Divinity and not to attacks from anyone who doesn't have a relation to Thunder, Sea, or Wind Divinity, and so on.

This doesn't make me resistant to any attacks of these elements or nature unless it's someone who has Divinity with those elements.

Like a child of a Thunder God who has the Divinity skill.

"However…"

Looking at all the natures my Divinity possesses and its Rank E,

My current Divinity is useless because it's at a very low rank.

My Divinity only makes me weak against Servants who also have Divinities with the same attributes as my Divinity.

The Divinity skill isn't much better than useless to me right now.

Divinity would only be useful if its rank was A or higher at minimum.

Although its effect of breaking defenses that can protect against powerful attacks capable of destroying the world is somewhat interesting.

But it's a shame that this type of defense is actually rare in the Nasuverse.

Although, there's the same problem of the rank being too low. Since the effect of breaking those defenses also depends on the rank of the Divinity skill itself.

It's also good to remember that although my Divinity comes from the God Baal of this World,

My Divinity is also a skill of the Foreigner Class.

So because I'm someone who comes from Outside the World, I kind of have Divinity normally without specifically receiving part of the Divinity of the God Baal.

It's really a shame to be affected by the legends of Beelzebub in this World. If it weren't just for that, I wouldn't have to worry about this low Divinity rank right now.

But for now, it's better that I fully clarify my Skills.

It won't help to keep thinking about what can't be changed.

I just have to get used to it and come to understand Divinity, and also...

I need to change my mentality. So that my Divinity rank can rise and I won't have issues with someone who has a Divinity similar to mine.

Although I really have no idea what could be wrong with my mentality that's hindering my Divinity rank.

My mentality is definitely normal.

How could there be anything wrong with my mentality?

================================

Existence Outside the Domain: EX

A God who is not originally from the World, the Throne of Heroes, outer space in the vast Universe, or an Outer Dimension of Outer Gods, being a God beyond the Comprehension of the World and Humanity, with strange powers, and without the Concepts of Divinized Natural Phenomena or Natural Phenomena that gained consciousness.

A Foreign Existence that comes from beyond [ ] that does not use Magical Energy or Authority like a normal God.

As it is not a normal God born from Concepts of Natural Phenomena, being a God beyond the World's Comprehension, the Foreign God who came from beyond [ ]. The skill rank is the highest, classified as EX by right.

================================

This was a skill that doesn't seem to have much information beyond what's in its description.

In the end, this is just a skill marking me as someone who's not from this World.

But I still feel there's something to it, something that's not being mentioned.

The hidden bars, I know what they are, but that's not what I'm talking about. It's something else that has nothing to do with that.

Even in Fate, this skill didn't have a description of its real effects.

For now, that doesn't matter. I have all the time in the world to think about it.

Literally all the time in the world.

================================

Mad Enhancement: EX

A Class Skill that characterizes a Berserker, enhancing Basic Parameters and strengthening their Physical Abilities, at the cost of their Mental Sanity or the Berserker's Sense of Reason.

It affects or seals Personal Skills and Noble Phantasms in some cases.

Even under the effects of Mad Enhancement, Beelzebub will perfectly maintain all their mental capacities and sense of reason. At least until their Personal Skill "Satan" is activated with Beelzebub's Love reaching its peak. In that case, Beelzebub will completely lose their sense of reason and mental sanity, being dominated by "Satan" to kill the one Beelzebub is Loving.

================================

The Berserker Class Skill. It's a skill that enhances Parameters but at the cost of losing mental capacities and sense of reason.

This is a skill that means at some point in their life, the Servant went through a moment of madness.

The Parameter enhancement varies greatly depending on the Mad Enhancement rank. Especially at Rank EX, which has much more to do with an unchangeable mentality of the Servant than with the Servant's madness itself.

I know that at Rank B, the skill boosts all Parameters, including Luck and Mana, which don't increase at ranks lower than B.

Although the Servant loses most of their reason at ranks higher than B.

But Rank EX has much more to do with an issue in the Servant's mentality.

An example of this is,

Even though the Servant has perfect sense of reason and mental sanity,

Sooner or later, that Servant will go mad and uncontrollable because of something.

Another example is the Servant's mentality.

It's that the Servant has a type of mentality that doesn't change ideas or principles for anything in the world.

Just like those fanboys who don't accept the truth about a character or work, that it's actually weaker than the power level they assign to those characters or works in general, scaling everything to absurd power levels in some stupid tier system that makes no sense.

You could say this is the difference between a fan and a fanboy.

The mentality of Servants with Rank EX Mad Enhancement is pretty messed up.

Hm? Maybe that's why my Divinity is being reduced to Rank E because of my mentality.

But... I only have this skill because Beelzebub from Shuumatsu could really be a Berserker.

Especially because of his situation with Satan in his body.

Beelzebub from Shuumatsu no Valkyrie, at a certain point, went completely mad because of Satan. This kind of happened more than once.

Satan dominating Beelzebub's body could also be the true origin of this Berserker Class and this skill.

While Foreigner has more to do with my existence in this World,

Berserker is for Beelzebub, who can be seen as a madman at certain points in his life, or when he's being overtaken by madness because of Satan.

Including that state of Beelzebub being dominated by Satan could be the reason behind the Berserker Class.

But there's no doubt that Beelzebub is indeed qualified as one of those Berserkers with EX Mad Enhancement.

While Satan's role in all this was fundamental.

But in the end, Satan was something I didn't want to think about too much.

But looking at the other skills, it's impossible not to think about Satan.

================================

Avenger (Skill): EX

A skill that represents the state of an Avenger as one who gathers the Hatred and Grudges of people onto themselves.

It's easier to accumulate Resentment and Hatred with this skill.

Mana production increases upon receiving damage.

The legend and root of Beelzebub, once a great God, whose anger caused sadness and suffering, praised by the devil. Classifying the skill as EX for previously being a God in the Old Testament, Baal. But this name, born in the Old Testament, was later considered the Devil Bael/Baal, or one of the Seven Princes (Kings) of Hell, Beelzebub in Western Europe and Christianity.

Beelzebub possesses this skill not for having Hatred and Resentment against Humanity, but for hating himself, for being the Anathema, and for having killed his friends Lucifer, Azazel, Samael, and his beloved Lilith with his own hands.

================================

Avenger. It was a Class founded on vengeance itself, born from powerful hatred and resentment that don't fade even after death.

This was a Class with some very interesting descriptions for Servants who are part of this Class in the Nasuverse World.

"Those who despise Love."

"Those born of Hatred speak of Love... and they would show compassion after experiencing cruelty."

"Those who burn with Pure Hatred."

"Those born of Love speak of Hatred."

"Those who experienced Happiness find their end through Betrayal."

Normally, a common thing in the Avenger Class is attachment to Humanity.

But for someone like me from the outside, it seems to have much more to do with Love and Hatred, Happiness and Betrayal,

Than some stupid attachment to Humanity that doesn't allow them to evolve beyond being Human.

A good example of this is Angra Mainyu, who claims he has no particular resentment against others. But Angra Mainyu has a lot of resentment against himself.

There's also Gorgon Medusa, who doesn't know why she's an Avenger, even though she feels a burning desire for vengeance in her Saint Graph and is unable to say what she hates so much.

Reading the end of the Avenger skill description makes it obvious why Beelzebub has the Avenger Class, which was due to his own negative feelings directed at himself, mainly caused by the existence of Satan within him.

Although the legends of the name Beelzebub in this World are also affecting and contributing a little to Beelzebub having the Avenger Class.

But still, Satan was inseparable from my existence as Beelzebub.

The next skill only reinforces the fact that Satan is inseparable from my existence.

================================

Oblivion Correction: EX

A Class Skill of the Avenger. People are creatures that forget many things, but an Avenger never forgets.

The critical effect of Avengers attacking beyond memory is strengthened.

Their Hatred for themselves, for being the Anathema, Satan, will never be erased, no matter how many years pass. Beelzebub will never forget that he killed his loved ones, his friends Lucifer, Azazel, Samael, and his beloved Lilith with his own hands.

================================

This is a skill that is really very cruel.

But at the same time that it's cruel, it's a concern for me in a way.

Because it only means that I'll have nightmares constantly reminding me of them, of Lucifer, Azazel, Samael, and Lilith.

Even though I'm not even him, the True and original Beelzebub, but just an ordinary person from the real world who, by some twist of fate, ended up having their body taken over in another universe.

This is a skill that will haunt me for my entire life in the Nasuverse world.

But well, there was really nothing I could do to change that.

I think the only good thing about being an Avenger Class is the next skill.

================================

Self-Replenishment (Mana): E

An Avenger Class Skill. Mana (Magical Energy) increases infinitely until their vengeance is fulfilled.

It has the effect of recovering an extremely minuscule amount of Magical Energy every hour.

As an Existence that originally does not use (Mana) Magical Energy, it is a skill classified at the lowest rank.

================================

This was the only truly useful Avenger skill.

Although for me, it's not really useful, since the Gods in Shuumatsu no Valkyrie don't use Mana or any other type of Energy as far as I know and as was shown.

But since the Nasuverse world is kind of affecting me in a way,

Maybe I can take some advantage of the Magical Energy I received here in the Nasuverse world.

But the effects of this skill are also kind of confusing.

Its base description is that my Magical Energy increases infinitely.

But its effect is the recovery of Magical Energy.

There was a reason for the description and effect of the skill being somewhat contradictory.

And that lies in the Mana limit that someone has.

All Servants and non-Servants have a Magical Energy limit in their bodies.

A notable example of this is Tiamat, who has an unlimited Mana source, but her body actually has a maximum Mana limit that cannot be exceeded.

It wasn't very hard to know the average limit for Servants.

A Servant with Mana Parameter B would have from 1,000 to 1,600 Magical Energy.

A Servant with Mana Parameter A would have from 1,250 to 2,000 Magical Energy.

At least that's how it was for regular and normal Servants.

But since the Saint Graph was introduced in Fate Grand Order, it made a big difference in the Nasuverse.

With regular Servants even able to transform a part of their Saint Graph and convert that part into large amounts of Magical Energy.

The Magical Energy limit in a Servant's body would also depend on how much their Saint Graph or Spiritual Core could withstand before self-destructing due to being unable to handle the Servant's power exceeding that limit.

And that's where the trick of this skill is well hidden.

How much Mana can my body withstand?

How much Mana can I accumulate in my body?

The true effect of this skill was closer to its base description than the description of its effect.

Although its "Recovery" effect could also be described as "Production" in the Nasuverse.

It's common to use "Production" or "Recovery" and other similar translations to impose a Mana limit.

"Mana Increases Infinitely."

Instead of a simple skill that serves to recover Mana, this recovered Mana is being stored in my body.

Which means my body is also producing this Mana up to a certain limit that my body could withstand storing without self-destructing or... burning.

Because Mana is hot, and the more Mana is used, the hotter the body gets, to the point of combusting if it overheats.

But what is the Mana limit that my body can store?

What is the Mana limit I can use without combusting?

That's an answer I honestly don't know.

As much as I have something Human in my body according to my Saint Graph Status,

My body is entirely the body of a God, with capacities that could reach up to millions of Magical Energy stored in my powerful Divine Body.

Especially if I consider the fact that Beelzebub could withstand lightning bolts that reach 30,000 degrees Celsius.

So yes, my body should be able to handle millions of Magical Energy without any issues.

But thinking about this a bit too much just shows me how broken my Self-Replenishment of Mana skill really is.

Even at its lowest rank, it could produce almost as much Mana as Rin could safely store in her body for a short period, one to two days at most.

Even if I'm summoned as a Servant, my natural Mana recovery was at least more than forty times greater than the recovery of a Saber like Artoria Pendragon without her Dragon Magical Core in Fate Stay Night.

Although it initially seems like a lot of Magical Energy if I compare it to these mages of the Common Era, with the best mages of the Modern Era having a maximum of 100 to 5,000 Od in their bodies.

Or even with Servants with Mana Parameter B to A with 1,000 to 2,000 Magical Energy.

Those Counter Guardians like Emiya have over 1 trillion units of Magical Energy supplied by Alaya.

Grand Servants must also have an equivalent or much higher amount of Magical Energy or Od units in their bodies than Counter Guardians with over one trillion.

However...

Even with that amount of pure Magical Energy, there was still a limit to how much Magical Energy they could use at once.

This is clearly shown in the same Mana Parameter level, in the same process of how much Magical Energy a Servant can have stored in their body.

Although Noble Phantasms can release much more Magical Energy than a high Mana Parameter of a Servant.

Normally, it was only from 1,000 to 3,000 Od (Magical Energy units).

With 1,000 being just the average Magical Energy level of a Rank A Noble Phantasm.

Still, there were Noble Phantasms that can release millions of Magical Energy units, even when they should be limited to a maximum of 3,000 Magical Energy units. That's the mess that Fate Grand Order caused.

With my Self-Replenishment of Mana at this rank, I could possibly produce a maximum of 500 Od (Magical Energy units) per day.

And with just that, in a few days, I'd have at least the same Magical Energy level as her.

The mage or person from the Modern Era with the highest raw amount of Od.

She is the person from the Modern Era with the highest amount of Magical Energy units in the Nasuverse, Ciel.

But as I was saying, that amount is nothing in reality.

As I mentioned before, Counter Guardians have over 1 trillion Mana.

While there were still Noble Phantasms that can release several million Mana, which would at minimum provide enough Magical Energy to perform up to a thousand attacks of a very famous Noble Phantasm, Excalibur.

But well, for now, it's better that I look at the other Skills and my Parameters.

Since I was talking about Mana and that there's a limit to the Mana that can be used at once,

It's good to look at my Parameters and explain them first before I see all my Personal Skills.

"Saint Graph Parameters."
