Haruto's scream shattered the silence.
—Behind the trees! Movement!
From the forest, two creatures burst forth — they looked like boars, but larger, armored at the sides, with glowing red eyes. They moved with wild power, stirring dust and leaves with every breath.
—Watch out! — yelled Takashi, grabbing the nearest stick.
Quest: Eliminate Threat – Boar x2. Boss: Warthog (Lv 3).Reward: System Development.
— W-What? This is a game?! — shouted Mina, stumbling back.
— We have no weapons! — said Ren, spotting a stone on the ground. He threw it with force — it hit the boar's side, but the beast only growled and charged faster.
Yuki trembled. — We can't win this…!
— Fight! — Haruto surprised everyone as he charged straight at one of the beasts. —Don't just stand there! Fight or die!
The boar leaped — Haruto dropped and rolled aside, jamming the stick into its maw.
The second boar was already aiming for Mina — but Ren grabbed a branch and slammed it into the beast's side. His hands were bleeding, but the impact stunned the boar.
— Mina, now! — he shouted.
In shock, the girl managed to throw a rock straight into the creature's eye. It howled and staggered back.
— Hold it down! — screamed Takashi.
The final blow came from Haruto.
The warthog fell.The grass soaked in blood. Silence returned.
"Level Up: 2. System Interface Unlocked."
Blue screens appeared before Ren, Yuki, and Haruto.
For Ren and Yuki, an additional message flashed:

The glow faded.The wound sealed almost instantly.
— "…It works," she whispered in disbelief. "It really works..."

Takashi sat on a rock, wiping sweat from his forehead.

Mina stared at the warthog's corpse.

Ren gently stroked Toro's back — but said nothing.
