Chapter 9 - Summit War Karaoke

The world had seen war, chaos, and betrayal. But nobody—not the pirates, not the marines, not the world government—was prepared for the day everyone agreed to put aside their grudges for a "peace summit."

They met on Sabaody Archipelago, under the pretense of "negotiations," though most just wanted to see if the Crow King was real. Every corner of the mangrove glowed with tension: Whitebeard's flag snapped above his crew's ship; Big Mom's laughter echoed from the sweets table; Kaido's drinking squad already started a brawl in the garden. Even the marines, led by Akainu (still picking black feathers from his cap), looked ready to bolt.

The room fell silent when Itachi entered. Crows lined the rafters, seagulls packed the windows, and the temperature dropped by a full degree. Someone somewhere whispered, "Don't make eye contact."

As the summit dragged on—endless speeches, petty insults, and more than one attempt to sabotage the snacks—Nami and Robin quietly convinced the host to add a karaoke night as an "ice breaker."

No one expected Itachi to participate.

But after Shanks and Luffy finished an off-key but passionate duet about meat, the crowd turned, chanting:"Crow King! Crow King! Crow King!"

Itachi, unmoved, tried to decline. But Nami elbowed him, whispering, "If you ever want a quiet life again, just get it over with."

Itachi walked to the stage. The pirates and marines tensed as if awaiting a declaration of war. The crows all turned their heads in unison.

He picked the only song in the book with a title he vaguely understood:"Endless Night."

The first note left his lips—deep, haunting, echoing across the room.

Nobody had heard a voice like Itachi's before: every word heavy, carrying memories of loss, hope, grief, and love. His Sharingan glimmered softly, pulling at everyone's emotions, drawing their hearts into his world.

Halfway through the song, Big Mom—Empress of the Sea, devourer of worlds—started sobbing uncontrollably, mascara pouring down her face.Kaido chugged another barrel, hiding his tears behind a thunderous belch.Shanks tried to lighten the mood by waving his mug, but even he wiped his eyes.Akainu left the room muttering, "It's just allergies."

Luffy, at the front of the crowd, bawled openly and hugged Zoro, who pretended not to cry while muttering, "It's just the onions."

Even Mihawk set his wine down, staring at Itachi with genuine respect.

When the last note faded, there was silence.

Then an uproar.

The pirates applauded with a force that rattled the chandeliers. Marines gave hesitant, nervous claps, worried a wrong move might set off the crows. The Yonko debated whether emotional devastation was now a new category of Haki.

Sanji wept, proclaiming Itachi's performance "the most beautiful agony I've ever tasted." Usopp immediately made up a story about singing backup on the track.

Nami pulled Itachi off stage, stuffing tips into his cloak. "We're rich! Do another!"

Itachi shook his head, but—just for a moment—a small, secret smile flickered at the edge of his lips. "That's enough."

The MC announced, "Next up—Fleet Admiral Sengoku with a comedy routine!" The room collectively groaned, but the tension had broken. For one bizarre night, pirates and marines drank together, argued over who cried most, and sang wildly off-key.

Later, as the summit wound down, Luffy clapped Itachi on the back. "You've got to join the crew now! Anyone who can make Big Mom cry and Akainu flee deserves a spot!"

Itachi shook his head, sighing:"This world… is stranger than Tsukuyomi."

But tonight, for once, it felt almost like home.
