The school bell rang, and I could already feel my blood pressure rising. It wasn't the classes, or the never-ending assignments — it was him.
Jeon Jungkook.
The boy I couldn't stand. The boy who made it his mission to get under my skin every single day since the moment we met. Petty fights, sharp insults, and silent glares had become our routine. I didn't know why he hated me so much, and honestly, I didn't care anymore.
As I walked down the corridor, I spotted him leaning against his locker, a smug grin curling at the corner of his lips when our eyes met.
"Well, if it isn't my favorite loser," Jungkook smirked, blocking my path.
"Move, Jeon," I spat, refusing to look intimidated.
"Aww, feisty as always," he taunted, stepping even closer. "Careful, princess. You wouldn't want to piss off your husband, would you?"
My stomach twisted at the word — husband.
No one knew. No one could know.
A week ago, our families dragged us into a dimly lit room, signed some papers, and chained our lives together in a silent marriage neither of us wanted. It was for power. For status. For reasons I wasn't even allowed to ask.
And while I kept my head down, trying to act like nothing had changed, Jungkook made it his mission to remind me every single day.
"You're still a jerk," I muttered, pushing past him.
His hand caught my wrist, yanking me back so fast my breath hitched.
"Watch yourself," he whispered darkly, close enough for only me to hear. "I swore to make your life a living hell, and I always keep my promises."
His grip loosened, and he walked away, leaving me standing in the hallway with a hundred unsaid words and a racing heart.
No one would believe me if I told them the school's golden boy, the one everyone adored, was the same person who bullied me behind closed doors — my secret husband, the future heir to a world darker than I could imagine.
