Aizawa POV – After Kensou left U.S.J.
I'm snapped out of my haze as All Might crashes into the U.S.J. facility, shouting his signature line.
Too tired to be impressed, I immediately scan the plaza.
'A few are here, but the rest are scattered across the zones.'
My eyes settle on Midoriya, Asui, and Mineta as they regroup at the plaza's edge. I motion for them to move toward us quietly before I brief All Might.
"The main threat's already been dealt with. That blue-haired man is the ringleader, and the one made of mist has a warp quirk."
All Might furrows his brows, confused at first—but nods when I finish.
"Understood."
Before Shigaraki can launch into another one of his tantrums, the smarter of the two, Kurogiri, acts first. He warps both of them away, leaving the hired thugs behind.
What follows is swift. All Might effortlessly dispatches the rest of the villains and gathers the remaining students outside—right on time as the other teachers arrive.
Now that I have a moment to breathe, I head straight for Nezu, who's conversing with the police.
"Nezu, I need to speak with you."
The principal gives a quick nod to the officers and follows me a few paces away.
"What's the matter, Aizawa?"
"That man... the one from the entrance exam. He was here."
Nezu's ever-present smile disappears.
"Was he with the villains?"
I shake my head.
"No. He wasn't with them. He took down the strongest one by himself—and then left. Voluntarily."
Nezu falls into silent contemplation, his expression now unreadable.
Leaving him to his thoughts, I turn back to the students. Most seem uninjured. Shaken, but safe.
Though… something catches my eye.
Midoriya, Asui, and Mineta are off to the side, whispering. Suspicious.
"Midoriya. What are you three talking about?"
He jumps like a startled animal.
"W-We're talking about the man with the sword, sir."
I frown and wave them over to where Nezu and I stand.
Nezu, curious, leans forward with that all-too-familiar gleam in his eyes.
"We met him in the flood zone," Midoriya explains, nervously.
"And? Did he interact with you?" I ask.
"Not really, sir. He said a few things but didn't harm us. It was like… he was just playing around."
The others nod in agreement.
I raise an eyebrow. "Anything else?"
"Oh! I saw his quirk!" Midoriya blurts out.
Nezu and I both lean in.
"He pulled his sword… from his shadow!"
That makes both of us tense.
'Another ability?' Our thoughts matching
The students, oblivious to our reaction, await further questions.
"That's all for now. Regroup with your class."
Once they leave, I glance at Nezu.
"Well?"
Nezu takes a long breath. "Third party. Not aligned with us. But not with them either. We approach with caution—and conversation."
I nod slowly.
'I don't know if even All Might could stop him… so talking might be our only option.'
Kensou POV
I'm lying on my bed, waiting for the system to spit out my reward already.
"What's taking so damn long?" I grumble, staring at the ceiling. "Just decide already!"
(Authors note: ;;... Suggestions welcome... hehe)
Finally, a notification pings.
[Rewards calculated. For witnessing a key event, the Host is awarded: Haoshoku Haki (Conqueror's Haki) – Dormant.]
I blink. "Dormant?"
Not disappointed—just... irked.
"What kind of system gives a reward I can't use?" I mutter.
Still, I keep it in the back of my mind as I check the time. Just past 3 PM.
I pick up my phone.
'Wanna go to the beach?'
The response is instant.
'Are you an idiot?'
I come to a quick realization.
"…Maybe I am," I mutter. "Who goes to the beach in April?"
Still, the fact she called me an idiot bothers me more than I'd like.
I fire back:
'You sure you don't wanna go willingly?'
If she won't agree… well, I've got a plan.
'I ain't scared of you, punk!'
Oh?
I grin.
'Challenge accepted.'
Yukei watches me from the bed, shaking her head like I'm the biggest idiot in the multiverse.
Later
I find Mirko patrolling around Sendai.
She spots me. Her eyes narrow. Her instincts sharpen.
She bolts.
I grin. "So much for not being scared."
I appear in front of her in an instant.
She spins to run again—but I'm faster.
Grabbing her by the back of her leotard, I sling her over my shoulder like a sack of potatoes.
"NO ONE CALLS ME AN IDIOT AND GETS AWAY WITH IT!"
I dash toward the beach at full speed.
Pedestrians are frozen, jaws dropped, watching the #5 Pro Hero get hauled off like a civilian in a slapstick skit.
Mirko pounds her fists and feet against me the entire way—but they barely tickle.
"You're gonna PAY for this, you bastard!"
I laugh. "You'll thank me later!"
At the beach
I skid to a stop, grab her by the ankles, spin, and hurl her straight into the sea.
The splash is glorious.
She surfaces, sputtering and furious.
Music to my ears.
I do a quick scan of the beach. Empty.
Lucky me.
Mirko stomps onto the shore, water dripping from her ears.
Her glare could melt concrete.
"The leotard waterproof?" I tease.
She snorts. "What? Trying to sneak a peek, punk?"
I smirk, unfazed.
That earns me a punch, which naturally turns into another sparring match.
Later
We lie back on loungers I pulled from the shadows.
Mirko looks over. "I thought your quirk was different."
"It is."
She frowns. "Then how did you…?"
I point to Yukei, curled on my chest.
"That thing has a quirk?"
I scowl. "Her name is Yukei."
She raises her hands in surrender. "Sorry. You never told me."
Thinking about it, she's right. We've trained together for nearly a year—but barely talked.
She breaks the silence. "So. What's your goal in life?"
I laugh. "Let me guess—yours is being the strongest?"
"Damn right," she replies proudly. "Now spill it."
I fall silent. It's a question I've never seriously considered.
Getting up, I walk to the water, letting the cold waves hit my feet.
'I woke up in this world without memories. No direction. No past. The system gave me a purpose—but only in the moment. Observing. Causing mischief. Earning rewards.'
'But what about the future? Another world? Another cycle?'
I whisper to no one in particular:
"No."
I need more. A real goal. Something of my own.
Just as I start forming the answer, I hear something cut through the air.
A rock.
It smacks me in the back of the head, sending me face-first into the sea.
Mirko's howling with laughter, kicking the sand.
"THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR POSING TOO HARD, PUNK!"
I turn slowly, soaked and stunned. Yukei's snickering from the lounger.
And for the first time in a while… I laugh. Genuinely.
Slicking my hair back, I make a decision:
'I'll give her an answer… before I leave this world.'
"Come here, you damn rabbit!"
She bolts—and round two begins.
